JNV Class 6 Admission 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Before filling the JNVST Class 6 Admission Form, students must check the eligibility rules. Otherwise, they cannot apply for Navodaya Class 6 Admission 2027. So, read each rule carefully before starting the JNVST Online Application.
Next, the student must be born between 1 May 2015 and 31 July 2017.
When you apply for JNV admission, your child must be studying in a Government School that is in the same district.
Only students who live in that district are eligible to apply for admission to Navodaya Vidyalayas.
At the time of admission, selected students must show proof of residence (parents’ residential certificate) and that they studied Class 5 in the same district.
During the Navodaya Vidyalaya admission, a Birth Certificate will be required.
Students must study in classes 3 to 5 in Government Schools.
You must be eligible for a Rural Quota and live in a Rural Area.
There is No Reattempt in JNVST examinations.
Important Information About JNV Schools
Each Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) can admit up to 80 students in Class 6 through the JNVST entrance exam. However, admission depends on the availability of seats and eligible students.
Also, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) may reduce the number of seats to 40 or delay the Navodaya Class 6 admission process if the school does not have enough facilities.
At present, there are 689 JNV schools across India, except in Tamil Nadu. However, JNV schools are not available in Central Delhi, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Mumbai Suburban because these districts have a fully urban population.
Who Can Apply for JNV Class 6 Admission 2027?
Students must meet the following rules to apply for Class 6 admission.
First, the student must be a resident of the district where they want to take admission.
Also, the student should be studying in Class 5 during the 2026–27 session.
Moreover, the student must study in a government or government-recognized school.
If the student's school is in a nearby district, they can still apply. However, the school must be within 10 km of their home.
In addition, NVS will verify the distance between the student's home and school.
Remember, students must apply only for the JNV in their home district. Otherwise, NVS may reject the application.

For candidates seeking admission under the rural quota, a certificate proving that the child attended a school in a rural area is required.
Students from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schools) are required to fill out a prescribed form in a specific pattern.

Crucial Instructions for JNVST Class 6 Entrance Exam 2027
Students must adhere to the following guidelines before taking the JNV Entrance Exam:

When you receive your test booklet, make sure it is in the language you selected for the JNV entrance exam.
Make sure the number or code on the OMR sheet corresponds to the one in the question booklet. If not, immediately inform the invigilator.
The Navodaya admission exam is uninterrupted for two hours.
An extra forty minutes will be given to students with impairments (Divyang).
You must bring your Navodaya Vidyalaya admit card to the JNVST exam.
Do not exit the test room before the designated amount of time has elapsed.
Throughout the exam, a bell will ring every 30 minutes to assist you in time management.
The following factors will be used in the selection process if two or more students receive identical total scores: Higher marks in mental ability, higher marks in arithmetic, and higher marks in language, ST candidates are preferred over SC, SC is preferred over OBC/general, OBC is preferred over general, girls are preferred over boys, and preference will be given to younger candidates due to their higher IQ.

Mental Ability Test (MAT) and EVS: First, Questions 1 to 20 are from the Mental Ability section. These questions test your thinking and reasoning skills. They include topics such as Figure Matching, Figure Completion, Figure Series, Analogy, and Geometrical Figures.
Next, Questions 21 to 40 are from the EVS section. This section covers topics like the Natural World, the Human Body, Science in Daily Life, and Social Surroundings.
