Jason (veeoneeye) Situation.
Okay before i rant over this, i want to point out that i have not been watching Jason's videos for all that long (6 months, maybe a little more, not too sure). I DO NOT support rape and i DO NOT support sexual assault, and i am NOT victim blaming.
First off, i strongly believe that this could have all been easily prevented. If Ania had said no to everything that Jason was offering this could have gone very differently. As a 15 year old girl, and being a (hate to say this) fan of many youtubers, if one had starting speaking to me, of course, i would speak back. One one had offered to go to the movies with me, i would have gone (meaning around many other people, and in public). Now what i wouldn't do is to offer this man, five years older than me or not, and only meeting them once, only really known them over the internet, to come back to a house, or let him take me to any secluded areas AT ALL. As a 15 year old girl, i have that common sense, and at 15, i believe that she should have had that common sense, also.
Then there's the alcohol situation. Yes, Jason offered, and this is what everyone seems to be forgetting, SHE HAD ACCEPTED. It DOES NOT matter how uncomfortable she felt accepting, because SHE HAD ACCEPTED. How would have Jason known if she was uncomfortable when she just accepted everything he was throwing at her? I don't understand why she would have been accepting this when the legal age is 18, and she being 15 at the time was 3 years under the legal age. Once again, getting drunk at the age of 15 is ILLEGAL, and with someone you hardly know, it should be common sense not to get completely smashed with that said person. Before anyone says "but so many 15 year olds drink, i bet you have", yes many do, and yes i have. Mostly, they drink around friends or family, myself only being around family, that family being adults so i was under constant supervision.
Another thing, IF YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE IN ANY SITUATION AND YOU FEEL AS THOUGH SOMETHING BAD MAY HAPPEN, OR SOMETHING IS WRONG, LEAVE. DON'T WAIT FOR PERMISSION FROM THE PERSON MAKING YOU UNCOMFORTABLE, JUST LEAVE. I am very sure that she could have had many opportunities to leave. After the movies, when he offered to buy alcohol, when he bought alcohol, when he gave her alcohol and every bit past that and in between that. She could have called someone for help, or a friend to come and stay with them so she felt like she had more protection, once again, common sense. Also at the age of 15 where were her parents or legal guardians during this time?
Now, the 'rape'. I can imagine at the age of 15 this would be her first time getting that drunk (if she wasn't exaggerating, which i strongly believe she was), and looking quite small and being so young, her body would not have held in the alcohol too well, and she would be puking all over the place, which obviously that wasn't the case, because then the sex wouldn't have taken place. The fact that she can supposedly remember every little detail which happens, which i believe she can because Jason didn't deny anything, then she really wasn't that drunk was she? Which also means that she was in the correct mind state to still be able to say 'no'. Obviously her brain wouldn't have been functioning at it's normal capacity, but it would still be able to be like 'oh hey, this isn't right and i don't want this'. THAT IS IF SHE DIDN'T. Now that being said, if she didn't want him to go through with anything that he was doing, she could have easily said no, just like many other times during this situation.
Take in mind that i am not pinning it all on her, i am simply just stating that she could have prevented it, as could have Jason, but they share the blame. It is both of their fault, and they're both in the wrong.
Let's just take a minute to imagine what would happen if the places were flipped and a 15 year old male had come out and said that he had gotten raped by a 20 year old female. Imagine the comments being "Dude, man up", and things like "Women can't rape men". Now why is this? Because women are seen as weak, and apparently if they don't say no then it's not their fault. That is wrong. If you don't give consent, fair enough, but Ania had not disagreed with anything, which means that she technically gave consent. You do not say "I give consent" before everytime you have sex, if it happens with no disagreements, then that is consent.
Now i don't care if she was under age, so many 15, even 13 year olds are going around and having sex. If i was Ania's position I wouldn't have spoken out about anything because saying "Hey, lets go back to my place, a secluded area, all alone, just us yay" is pretty much taken as "hey, let's fuck". I AM NOT SAYING SHE OFFERED, BUT ONCE AGAIN, COMMON SENSE, AND ONCE AGAIN, SHE DID NOT DISAGREE.
Comparing Sam Pepper to Jason is wrong in every way possible. Sam has denied everything he has done and has made up some shit excuse like "lol pranks. lol jks im saying its very wrong, but im going to show you how wrong it is, by doing it because im a dumbass" . And Jason had apologised. I am aware that an apology does not fix anything, but hey, it's a start, he owned up, and he addressed the problem properly unlike Sam. Sending death threats to either of them does not help the situation, nor does sending hate or any other form of abuse.
Once again, i do not support rape, or sexual abuse, i am simply supporting Jason. The Jason everyone knows NOW, not the Jason people are discovering from three years ago. Send questions, or any other facts if i have missed something, because if there is recent forms of sexual harassment or abuse that Jason has done, i would like to know so i can get my facts right, but this is all i know of, so if i get anything wrong, i apologise, please correct me.
