About VeeOneEye’s new video.

The following opinion is about Jason’s video titled : “ Why You Should Drop Out Of School “.

Before you read on - i’m gonna repeat that this is just an opinion and opinions tend to differ, if you can’t deal with that fact than please don’t waste your time reading the rest of the post.

Jason has always been one of my favorite youtubers. I’ve liked him back when he was just a lil’ scene boy cause he was so full of life and i like him now because of his rejuvenation of rape accusations as a nature-loving hippie he is now. His travel videos are beautiful and teens love him, teens follow him, teens mindlessly listen to what he has to say. I agree of some parts that he is stating in that video but there are things that angst me, as well.

School is in some parts - useless and the education system is wrong. You will never need to solve hardcore math problems in your adult life - everyone knows that. There are some parts of school that you will need in your future life. Biology, physics, chemistry, for an instance - all of those subjects allows you to understand more and even philosophize about the meaning of why we are here. It teaches you to think, to not follow the unwritten rules of living and think for yourself. School teaches you how life can be harsh, how existing isn’t always beautiful and easy. School itself is a giant test if you can survive in your future life. Some people think they don’t need school. I am one of those people - most things i know I've taught myself through the internet (Just as Jason stated). I’ve learned to speak and write in fluent english through playing World Of Warcraft. I’ve learned to think for myself through realization of how everyone pressures you to do something, I’ve learned a lot about life and other cultures through listening to music and browsing Reddit 24/7 but not everyone has the will power to do it. Not everyone will spend their time learning stuff if there is nobody to pressure them to do so. That is what school is for.

A person should choose himself if he wants to study through a system or he doesn’t. If a 14 year old teen only knows to hate school and watch YouTube videos of her “heroes” who do the same thing - he will never learn to think for himself. His video literally is telling you to drop out of school and as far as i understand it - it’s telling you to do something, it is pressuring you to do it. With this video Jason BECOMES what he is talking about - a higher power that pressures you not to think for yourself but follow a statement.

In conclusion, there is nothing wrong about the video - just how it is presented. There’s nothing wrong with saying his opinion but you are the only one who can decide if school IS for you or it ISN’T for you. If you have a fanbase this big consisting of mostly teens - you have to understand that not everyone would be able to make it in this life without education.

What i am trying to say - please, listen, observe, philosophize but decide on your own.
