Early morning on my last day in Barcelona I took myself over to the vegan cafe Santoni. Top rated in Barcelona by Happy Cow!

There were a few of us anxiously milling about waiting for the place to open. They opened a bit late and then only took cash so things were off to a rocky start, but I tracked down some cash and soon had before me: a chocolate croissant! And let's be honest: they are not pretty! But very, very tasty.

The sun bouncing off of these buildings was exactly what the doctor ordered after endless months of dreary rain in Belfast.

These pictures are from the stunning Park Güell. There is a lot to see, but El Drac is definitely a highlight:

After spending the morning in the park, we ventured back towards the hotel. Azu had other plans but I wanted to stop in and check out the vegan pizza spot. `

I'll be honest, the pizza at Dolce Pizza y Los Veganos was nothing to write home about. I tried the four seasons pizza (Pizza cuatro estaciones) and it was - fine. The location near Park Güell may be its biggest selling point, although it's also very cute.

But what do I know - look how busy the place is! Looks like it could be a nice place to catch up with friends and grab a bite, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's a must try vegan spot in Barcelona.

Gaudi's Park Güell on the other hand, make time for.

This was the meal I was most looking forward to in Barcelona! In a town that is very much known for Paella and Tapas, I was excited to find a plant-based restaurant that offered both. The full menu will blow your mind, so take a look.

We tried the Paella which was a dream, drizzled with fresh lemon. We also tried a few of the tapas including some warm olives and the mushroom polenta. To finish off our meal we shared the raw tiramisu.

Not bad for a February vacation, eh?

All Cats are Beautiful and everything at CactusCat Bar is vegan.

We got some fresh apple and mint juice and tried the Mushroom mini quiche and also tried the Tostada with ham and cheese (de jamón y queso!)

It was all really tasty and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's the sort of place I'd be happy to hang out and spend more time in if I weren't on a whirlwind first-trip to the city. Support them so they stay in business and I can go back please!
