Cautionary tale of Crosswalks

This isn’t huge or anything, I just. want everyone to know.

Just because you have the crosswalk light doesn’t mean a car will stop for you or respect your right-of-way in a Crosswalk, white light or no.

My fiance and I got hit by a car last night, crossing the street to go to Smith’s/a small local market for pie for Pi Day. A four-door dark sedan zipped into the intersection, turned left and hit the gas, hitting him first, and throwing him into me.

His hip was severely wounded, and he was rushed to the ER via ambulance; I sustained minor injuries I’m assuming to be a bruised or mildly fractured left foot, and a sore/sprained back.

PLEASE keep an eye on every vehicle; being hit by a car is unlikely, but not impossible. Please keep an eye out for your own safety, we’re vigilant people when it comes to pedestrian right of way and safety, and this still happened to us. I’ll keep you updated on how his condition improves.He’s going to be in the hospital for at least a few days, with two surgeries planned for him to fix the damage.
