To Clean or not to Clean

Constance holds out a small slip of paper with a number on it, checking it against the tiny number near every door she passes without any of them matching up so far. Personally, she thinks this is a really dumb numbering system, but who is she to judge? Oh right, she’s the one who has had to deal with the stupid thing for Goddess knows how long (like ten minutes tops) just to find one room! She is definitely filing a complaint later. A complaint the staff will definitely read and consider without throwing it away immediately upon recognizing her handwriting, just like every other complaint she’s sent in! She makes a difference.
“Aha!” Constance smiles to herself proudly as she finally finds the door with the matching number. She checks it a few more times before opening it, certain that the person behind the door probably won’t mind. It is unlocked, after all. It would be very embarrassing if it was the wrong person, though, so she must be thorough in checking. A Nuvelle can’t make such a simple mistake after all!
The door swings open with a loud slam as Constance pushes it as hard as she can, arms wide for dramatic entrance emphasis. “Velouria! I came to the realization that we haven’t really spent much time together since you’ve returned, so I—“ Constance stops mid-sentence, finally registering the absolute mess of the room she just entered.
“…What in the Goddess’ name am I looking at?”
