🌌 Background / Lore
Born and raised in the forests of an old Mondstadt, she used to have an older brother and used to live a peaceful life in her village.
However, during the Archon War, her village was attacked and destroyed, causing everyone's perishment.
Noemi only survived because her best friend sacrificed himself to save her.
While she tried to hide and keep herself safe from the war, she was found by Demilune, who took her with him to a safer place.
Not long after was when she met, through Demilune, the Anemo Archon for the first time.
She found happiness and solace in the company of Barbatos and Demilune, who saved her not only physically but also emotionally.
Nowadays, she spends her time among nature, studying and observing plants and animals under the duties of a researcher.
She joined the Knights of Favonius about five years ago, specifically applying to the Investigation Company. Luckily for her, Albedo didn't question how she knew so much despite saying she was only 18 (she wanted to say she was older, however, she knew no one would've believed her with such teenage-ish appearance so she settled to 18).
She can also often be found in libraries or in the company of Demilune or Serina when they returns from their travels, or in the company of Mondstadt's most popular bard, Venti.
Many recognize her as the bard's reserved friend, often going to look for him in taverns when he is too drunk to be on his own.
But no one truly knows her, this shy little thing barely interacts with anyone other than the bard, Demilune, Serina or her co-workers, and she usually stays in more secluded places, where she can enjoy the tranquility of solitude.
💠 Personality
Noemi is a shy, kind and friendly woman, despite being reserved with most people, she is always polite and exudes warmth to those who interact with her.
She is also intelligent and independent, she is strong willed and determined, she keeps a firm grip on the things she wants and believes.
She is a good listener and is always willing to hear all sides of a story, she loves learning new things.
She has the habit of overthinking too much which usually leads her to feel anxious or overly concerned about small things.
She stops being shy around people when they start to get closer to her, allowing herself to be more playful and humored.
She cherishes the good things in life, especially friendships and would do anything if it meant protecting those she loves.
❤️ Relationships
Demilune (lover)
The quiet mischief that kept her breathing. Demilune is both her anchor and her wild wind: playful, relentless in curiosity, and endlessly affectionate in the small, grounding ways that calm her worst nights. He teases her mercilessly, but he also knows when to be gentle, when to carry the weight so she doesn't have to. He saved her once, and has spent centuries learning how to keep her from breaking all over again. Noemi trusts him in a way she almost never trusts anyone; when insomnia steals her night, his presence and quiet jokes are often the only things that let her breathe.
Venti (dear friend)
A wild, mournful song that keeps finding its way back to her. Noemi doesn't interfere in his life too much, but when the bard acts up, especially after one of his darker nights, she goes to the taverns to steady him, to make sure he is not utterly alone. He is loud and unpredictable, and sometimes he makes her worry, but she is patient with him the way one is patient with an old, wayward tree: rooted in affection and wary of the storms he carries.
Serina (close friend)
Serina is, somehow, always able to calm the churn inside Noemi. Serina's voice and quiet attentiveness soothe the parts of Noemi that replay the past; with her there is no need to explain the nights she can't sleep or the weight she bears. They share an easy companionship built from long conversations, small rituals, and music that fits together like two halves of a lullaby. Serina's presence feels like home when home is a place Noemi is still learning to rebuild.
Lenz (friend)
Noemi admires how easily he eases people into comfort, how naturally he notices sorrow without making it feel exposed. His teasing still catches her off guard sometimes, especially when he realizes she is flustered and decides to become absolutely unbearable about it, but there is never cruelty in it. Around him, conversations feel lighter, quieter in the right ways. She trusts him deeply, perhaps because beneath all the charm and laughter, Lenz understands grief far better than he lets most people see.
Nerisse Auvendal (friend)
There is something deeply reassuring about Nerisse's honesty. Noemi never has to guess where she stands with her, and that certainty is rarer than most people realize. Though Nerisse carries herself with confidence sharp enough to cut through nonsense in seconds, Noemi has always seen the tenderness beneath it: the fierce loyalty, the quiet protectiveness, the exhaustion hidden under humor. Watching the way Nerisse looks at Lenz always leaves a small ache in Noemi's chest, not from envy, but from quiet admiration. After losing so much, Nerisse still chose softness, still chose love, and Noemi thinks there is something deeply brave about that. They understand one another in ways neither often puts into words, two survivors who learned how to keep living after the world ended around them.
Marlin (friend)
Speaking with Marlin often feels like trying to hold water in her hands: impossible to fully grasp, but oddly soothing nonetheless. Noemi can never tell when he is joking, serious, or deliberately blurring the line between the two, though she suspects that confusion is part of his charm. His riddles and half-answers tend to leave Noemi overthinking for days afterward, much to her dismay. But despite his theatrics and mischief, she recognizes genuine kindness in him, especially in the way he quietly gathers lonely people beneath his roof and makes space for them there. His worldview unsettles and fascinates her in equal measure; someone so comfortable with change feels almost alien to a woman who clings tightly to the things she fears losing. Still, she enjoys his company more than she admits aloud, even when he answers simple questions with impossible nonsense.
Mia (younger friend)
Noemi sees a great deal of herself in Mia, though perhaps softer around the edges. Having known her parents for years, Noemi feels quietly protective of her, though she knows Mia hardly needs coddling. She is thoughtful and perceptive in ways that sometimes catch Noemi off guard. Noemi admires her curiosity about the world and the determination behind her decision to step beyond the life expected of her. There is also something comforting in Mia's presence, perhaps because she understands what it means to stand slightly apart from humanity while still yearning to belong within it. Though she worries for Mia sometimes, gently and instinctively, because the world beyond secluded traditions can be painfully overwhelming.
Albedo Bleicher (coworker)
Albedo is difficult to read, though Noemi suspects he prefers it that way. He unsettles her a little, though not in an unpleasant way. He observes the world with such calm precision that she sometimes feels as though he can see directly through every excuse and carefully avoided truth she offers. And yet, he has never pressed. For that, she is quietly grateful. She respects him immensely, both for his intellect and for the quiet patience he extends toward others despite his detached demeanor. Working under the Investigation Company has been far less frightening than she expected because of his patience and straightforwardness. Conversations with him tend to drift into subjects most people would find impossibly tedious, flora, ecosystems, strange natural phenomena, but Noemi enjoys them immensely. Though they are not especially emotionally close, Noemi trusts him more than she expected to trust anyone within the Knights.
Sucrose Wunderglas (close coworker)
Sucrose sometimes reminds Noemi of a startled woodland creature. Sucrose's nervous energy used to make Noemi worry she was somehow frightening her by accident. Over time, however, affection replaced uncertainty. She finds Sucrose genuinely sweet beneath the anxious stammering and endless research notes, and admires the sincerity of her curiosity. Unlike many scholars, Sucrose approaches the natural world with wonder rather than conquest, something Noemi deeply appreciates. Noemi finds her easy to be around precisely because neither of them minds quietness. They often fall into long discussions about plants, alchemy, or ecological oddities without realizing how much time has passed. Though Sucrose can become flustered easily, Noemi admires the sincerity behind her enthusiasm; once she begins talking about something she loves, it is difficult not to listen fondly. She worries Sucrose works herself too hard sometimes, but understands the feeling well enough not to scold her for it. Though she tries to gently pull Sucrose away from her work whenever exhaustion becomes too obvious, though convincing her to rest is rarely an easy task.
🎨 Visuals
Noemi has wavy black hair that reaches past her hips when loose. She keeps her hair tied in a long, simple braid that reaches her hips. She has two, thin ornamenal braids on each side of her head starting near the temples, wrapping around the back of her head like a crown before being tied together with the beginning of her braid. She has jade green eyes, her skin is a deep, warm brown, similar to rich mahogany or espresso, with golden undertones, and medium-length, pointy elven-like ears. She is 157 tall.
Her main fit: Her top is a fitted charcoal-black blouse with thin vertical pinstripes. It has a high ruffled collar that reaches up to her neck, along with exposed shoulders created by wide shoulder cutouts. The sleeves are loose and semi-sheer, gathered at the wrists into fitted cuffs. These sleeves are halfway tucked underneath the coat's sleeves. Down the front of the blouse runs a line of small brown buttons. At the center of the collar sits a black ribbon bow with an oval blue gemstone brooch set in gold. Two thin black ribbon tails hang down from it. Over the blouse, she wears a long dark navy coat that hangs off the shoulders rather than sitting properly on them. It hangs from the upper arms and drapes behind her almost like a cape, splitting open at the front to expose the outfit underneath. The coat's sleeves starts with thick, muted navy fluffy fur trim around the hem, the sleeves themselves are wide and draping with black cuffs and gold trim, the lower parts (from upper arm to wrist) of the blouse's sleeves are tucked underneath the coat's sleeves. The inside lining is a richer blue with thin gold borders. The edges are also decorated with thin gold borders, and small botanical windwheel mandala patterns scattered near the hem. The bottom hem of the coat is lined with muted navy fur matching the sleeves trim. And two gold diamond-shaped ornaments hang of the coat's corners, one on each side respectively. Over her waist she wears a structured dark brown corset. The center features ornate gold filigree shaped like a flower motif. She wears high-waisted black shorts with a fitted shape and gold lines running around the hems, with two slender black belts with gold buckles thread through the waistband of the shorts (just below the corset), each belt tipped in brass and studded with gold eyelets, holding everything firmly in place. At the sides, hanging from the shorts' hem, sit tiny, spike-shaped pendants (golden "seed" charms) that jingle ever so softly as she walks, one on each side. Underneath are opaque black tights. On the sides there's asymmetrical designs: a vertical chain of gold compass roses, diamonds, and rhombus symbols connected by dotted lines running from upper thigh to ankle. Her Vision hangs over her shorts, held by a short, gold chain connected to her shorts' belts. Her boots are black leather ankle boots with thick low heels and rounded toes. Each boot has two strapped gold buckles across the sides that mirror the belt buckles, along with subtle gold detailing around the soles and heels.
She also has a alt fit: She wears a sleeveless high-neck blouse in a very dark green, almost black tone. The collar is tall and ruffled, gathered tightly around the neck, with a muted dark green ribbon bow with gold detailing tied at the front. Hanging from the bow is an ornate gold pendant with branching, floral-like shapes and a teal gem drop suspended beneath it. The blouse itself is fitted through the torso with subtle seam lines, giving it a structured silhouette despite the soft fabric. The blouse closes with corset-style lacing up along the lower back with crisscross ties. At the back of the collar is another dark green bow beneath an ornate gold emblem, from which hangs a thin, soft green tassel-like ornament. The shoulders are exposed through open shoulder cutouts, connected by thin black straps fastened with small gold buckles and decorative gold and green chains. Attached beneath the shoulder straps are detached sleeves made from white fabric. The sleeves are loose and billowy, widening around the forearms before tightening into ruffled cuffs at the wrists. Near the cuffs and along the outer lower sleeves are delicate embroidered botanical patterns in muted pale green and pale gold, resembling stem (pale green) and flowers (pale gold). Around her waist are two layered dark brown leather belts with gold buckles and brass eyelets, wrapped tightly over the blouse. The belts sit high on the waist and add a more practical, structured element to the outfit. She wears fitted black high-waisted shorts with a smooth leather texture. The shorts are simple compared to the upper half, allowing the belts and side drapery to stand out more. Attached under the belts, on the right side, is an asymmetrical draped overskirt made of layered fabric in muted sage green and ivory. The fabric falls in uneven pointed panels around the hips, longer on one side and at the back, starting to shorten at the left back side, the fabric does not reach the left front side. The green layer is embroidered with pale gold reed-like patterns scattered across it and trimmed in gold along the edges. The overskirt extends behind her in layered flowing panels, creating a cape-like silhouette without fully covering the legs. Thin, medium-length gold chains drape across the front of the overskirt, attached to the belts, decorated with dangling leaf-shaped charms and teal crystal ornament, her Vision hangs with it. Her Vision itself has a gold, ornamental leaf metalwork attached underneath its holder. Her legs are covered with mismatched tights. Her left leg has a plain opaque brown stocking, while the right leg has opaque black stocking that features an ornate leaf vine pattern running upward in a muted gold tone, running from the upper thigh downward to the ankle. She wears black calf-length boots with a slight heel and a rounded toe. The boots have two straps and brass buckles wrapped around the ankles, along with small teal gem ornaments attached near the sides.
✨ Fun Facts / Trivia
• Noemi and Demilune started dating about over a millennium ago.
• She knows how to play many instruments because music was deep sheathed in her people's culture, but her favorite is the flute.
• She has started having trouble sleeping since the massacre in her village, and suffers from insomnia most nights, there are few times where she can sleep peacefully.
• Struggles with survivor’s guilt.
• Sometimes (very, very rarely), Demilune manages to convince her to travel with him, she says she wasn't made to travel so often.
• Since she lived in the forests and her people trained their kin to use bows even if they weren't hunters, she's an excellent archer.
• Would be open to a poly relationship, with the right people only. But is perfectly happy with her current dynamic with Lune nonetheless.
• Calls Venti, Demilune and Serina "three breezes." A little poke at the fact they're all Anemo-aligned (even though she also is).
• Unlike her three breezes, she actually has a house. One she bought with the money she receives with her work. The other three often take advantage of that to stay in her home when they're in the city.
• Though no manor, her home is big enough to have space for at least five people without it feeling crowded, yet she still calls it her "humble little abode." It has two floors, the decoration is humble but cozy, and it has a back garden.
• After she started healing, she developed a brief crush on Venti. She instantly backed off the moment she understood he and Serina were a thing (she didn't read the room between them correctly 😅). Although neither Serina or Venti teased her about it (much), she's still mortified whenever she remembers that.
🧩 Thought Process
Got inspiration of a fic from wattpad I read where Venti had a non-binary animal-hybrid (can't remember which animal, but I think it was a sheep?) companion. The only things I took from it was the shy personality, small height, follower of Barbatos and dark skin to be honest.
I mostly based her appearance on trees lol. Brown skin like tree trunks, green eyes for the leaves. Black hair came later. I originally planned for her to have fluffy short dark brown hair, but every time I imagined her in my head, I always saw her with long black wavy hair so I ultimately changed it. She also almost had heterochromia, one eye green and the other yellow-amber, because I couldn't decide between these two colors, but I ultimately decided green was the best choice.
Her people's traditions and lifestyle were loosely based off on the forest Na'vi clans in Avatar (a franchise I absolutely love btw).
I redesigned her clothes to fit Mondstadt, and Genshin overall, more. As I thought the first design was way too "modern-ish." But kept the core of the outfit. This was the old design: A soft black knit with a snug turtleneck and cut-out shoulders, the body of the sweater is gently blouson-cut, cinching at the waistband so it never looks bulky under a coat or field vest. High-waisted, deep midnight-black shorts with two slender black belts with gold buckles thread through the waistband, each belt tipped in brass and studded with eyelets, holding everything firmly in place. At the hem sit tiny, spike-shaped pendants (golden "seed" charms) that jingle ever so softly as she walks. Opaque black pantyhose with a smooth, matte finish. Glossy black leather ankle boots, with double straps and matching gold buckles that mirror the shorts' hardware, with a low block heel and reinforced toe. Her Vision hangs on her right tigh, held by a medium-short, golden chain connected to her shorts' belts. Sometimes she wears a black coat that nearly reaches her knees, with dark grey fur around the "neckline" and sleeves' hems, but it often gets too warm in Mondstadt so she usually only wears it in Dragonspine.
Her alt outfit almost became her main fit while I was redesigning it. But I wasn't fully satisfied with it being her main fit, but also didn't want to scrap it cuz I liked the design, so I ultimately decided to make it her alternate outfit skin as Genshin already have alt fit skins (Jean, Amber, Rosaria, Mona). Though those alt skins were made for censorship 🫤
🌟 Ending
I hold Noemi very dearly in my heart, she's my baby and she deserves all happiness (and needs some therapy).
Before anyone ask, no, she doesn't have wings. In my lore, Faeries and Fairies are completely different beings, yet always mistaken as the same in mortal tales.
Btw, Albedo's and Sucrose's surnames are my hcs.
Ocs related to Noemi: Demilune, Serina, Lenz, Nerisse, Marlin, Mia.
