Verde Frühling turned 1 today!

The Verde Frühling Tumblr theme just got its first Tumblr milestone. Happy birthday Verde Frühling! The email message from Tumblr said: 

We hope it was a great year, and we look forward to sharing many more!

There was a “Post this!” button below that. Clicking it brought me to this photo post with the pic from the email automatically added. Actually, the subject title of the email said:

Verde Fr??hling turned 1 today!

LOL :) But can you believe it’s really actually been a year or so already? I’ve been working on this theme for so long. Well, to be more precise, there was a point where I stopped because I ended up being too busy with lots of other things. I talk more about that here. But, anyway, recently, when I took another look at the theme, I saw that it was nearly almost done, so I got inspired to continue and finish it.

Text Options In Verde Frühling Tumblr Theme

Here’s an explanation of the many text options that are available in the Verde Frühling Tumblr Theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down until you see the following:

Just leave the textboxes blank if you don’t want to display these features.

Paragraph Spacing - the size is in pixels. This allows you to control the amount of space between paragraphs. If you think the text is too close to each other, then increase the spacing, otherwise, decrease it.  

The Comments Heading and Comments Text can look like this:

Exif Data Text - refers to the text that shows up before the exif data info on photo posts. Check out this post for an example. 

Background Image Opacity - if you’re using a background image on your blog and you think it looks too dark and it’s hard to read the text on top of the image, then use this feature. Increase or decrease your background image’s opacity according to your specifications/needs.

Facebook Page URL and Pinterest Profile URL - these are for the Facebook and Pinterest widgets that appear in the header part of your blog. Once you enable these widgets, just add in the proper URLs on the provided textboxes.

These are all for the cookie notice banner widget. The Cookie Notice URL can link to your cookie policy page or your privacy policy page.  

Google Analytics ID - paste your Google Analytics ID on the provided textbox to track your traffic and get more data and info about your blog.

Featured Post Heading 1-3 - refers to the title of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog. 

Featured Post Content 1-3 - refers to the short snippet or summary of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog.

Featured Post Button - refers to the text that shows up on the header part of your blog.

Featured Post Pic Link 1-3 - refers to the URL link of the image of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog.

Featured Post Link 1-3 - refers to the URL link of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog.

Subscribe Widget Link - refers to the link to the Google Feedburner feed that’s associated with your blog.

Header Widget Content and Footer Widget Content - you can add text, javascript, ads, etc here. Check the demo blog for an example. 

Footer Height - refers to the height of the footer. Change the number according to what you want your blog’s footer height to be.

Blog Copyright Year - enter the year your blog went live.

The headings like Facebook Widget Heading up to Text Widget Heading and including the Featured Tags Heading up to Likes Heading refer to the title that shows up before said feature is displayed. For example, the About Heading shows up before the blog description on the header part of your blog. If you hover your mouse on the icons below the blog title, the tooltips you’ll see are the headings you input in these textboxes. Check the demo blog for more examples.

Text Widget Content - refers to the content inside the text widget. This can be any text you want like quotes, more information about your blog, etc. Check the demo blog for an example.

Submitter - this is for submitted posts. For example:

Tag 1-10 - this is for the featured tags widget. Type the name of the tag you want to feature on the header part of your blog.

Tag Link 1-10 - paste the URL link that corresponds with the tags you entered in Tag 1-10.

Disqus Shortname - enter the shortname for your blog to use the Disqus commenting system.

The Twitter Link up to Skype Link refer to the links to your accounts on these sites. Check the demo blog for examples.  

Email Address - enter your email address if you want your readers/blog visitors to be able to contact you via email.

Mobile Number and Phone Number - if you want to share your number, enter it in the provided textbox, otherwise, just leave these blank.

Toggle Options In Verde Frühling Tumblr Theme Part II

Here’s a detailed explanation on each of the toggle options in the Verde Frühling Tumblr theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down until you see the image featured above.

To turn the feature on, toggle the button to the right (blue). To turn it off, toggle the button to the left (gray).

Show Search - turn this feature on to allow your readers/visitors to search your blog. If enabled, it will look like this:

Show Archives Link, Show RSS Link, Show Random Link - these refer to the links located in the menu section of your blog. For example:  

Show Text Widget - the text widget is located in the header part of your blog and looks like this when turned on:

Show Featured Tags - you can display up to 10 featured tags. If turned on, it can look like this:

If turned off, it will look like this:

Show Follows, Show Likes - these features show up on the header section of your blog alongside the other items like the Featured Tags, Search, etc. Enabling Follows will show a list of the Tumblr blogs that you follow while Likes will show a list of posts that you like.

Show Caption Titles - this feature makes the first line of photo, panorama and photoset posts look like a title. Use this if you want all of your posts to have titles. For example, if turned on, it can look like this:

Transparent Header Background, Transparent Pagination Background - turning these features on will enable your body background image or color to include the header and pagination parts of your blog. Use these features if you don’t want to add a color or image to the header and/or pagination sections of your blog. Check the demo blog for an example of how this looks.

Here’s a detailed explanation on each of the toggle options in the Verde Frühling Tumblr theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down until you see the image featured above.

To turn the feature on, toggle the button to the right (blue). To turn it off, toggle the button to the left (gray).

Show Facebook Widget, Show Pinterest Widget - the first displays a Facebook Page while the second displays a Pinterest Feed. For example:

Show Audio Track Info - turning this feature on will display additional information on audio posts (if available). This includes Track Name, Artist Name and Album Name. For example, check out the sample audio post on the demo blog here.

Show Group Blog - this will display the members or authors that are part of your blog. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Cookie Notice Banner - this will display a short notice at the top part of your blog, telling people that your blog uses cookies. You can customize the text of the notice including the colors. For example:

Show Chat Background - with the Verde Frühling Tumblr theme, you can choose between two different chat post looks, one that has alternating backgrounds or one that doesn’t have a background. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Featured Posts - display up to 3 featured posts with the Verde Frühling Tumblr theme. Check the demo blog for an example.   

Show Subscribe Widget - invite readers/visitors to your blog to subscribe via email, so they’ll get an e-mail message every time you update your blog. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Header Widget -  you can put whatever you want in this widget including text, polls, codes, javascript, ads and more. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Body Background Color, Show Footer Background Color, Show Navigation Background Color - enable the first if you’re not using a body background image, the second if you’re not using a footer background image, and the third if you’re not using a navigation background image. You can choose any color you want from the color picker tool.

Show Footer - toggle this to off if you don’t want a footer section on your blog.

Show Total Page Count - refers to the exact number of pages that your blog has. For example:

Exif Data

This can only be found on photo posts if the pic has the info available

Includes info like Camera, Aperture, Exposure, Focal Length, and ISO

You can either “Show” or “Hide” this feature

If you select “Show,” you’ll be able to see the exif data by hovering your mouse over a pic that has the info

About Heading

This refers to the heading title that shows up above the description of your blog

Font Options In Verde Frühling Tumblr Theme

Here’s an explanation of the many font options that are available in the Verde Frühling Tumblr Theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down a bit until you see the following:

The Quote and Quote Source for the quote posts use Tumblr’s built-in fonts. Just choose the one you want from the list. For an example, you can check out the sample quote post on the demo blog here.

Blog Title Font, Title Font, and Body Font all use Google Fonts. You can find more information about using Google Fonts here.

The Title Font refers to the font for the post titles while the Body Font refers to the font for the rest of your blog. For examples, check out the demo blog.

The Body Font Size is in ems. Change this depending on how small or big you want your blog’s font size to be. 

The Featured Post Font Size is also in ems and this refers to the font size for the featured posts feature of the Verde Frühling Tumblr Theme. Check out the demo blog for an example.
