The mermaids of Brindleton Bay might not be as renowned as those in Sulani, but they do exist. Daryl happens to be one of them. The 27 years old is the oldest of two. His mother was human and his father was a mermaid. Definitely opposite of your normal fairy tale romance.

Though he enjoys the water, Daryl spends most of his time on land. He’s a veterinarian who loves to read. Don’t think he spends all his time tucked into the corner of the library. Instead, he’d much rather spread a blanket out on the beach and enjoy the outdoors as he gets lost in his current book. Personality wise, he’s a pretty cheerful person. He’s a firm believe of the glass half full philosophy. 

His dating life has been a little hit or miss. Little girls that dreamed of being mermaids turn into women who either don’t believe him or no longer are interested in fairy tales. He’s ready to settle down and maybe start a family. He’s hoping Verity might just be that girl for him.

really wants to own a library or a bookstore  “when she grows up”

needs to move out of her tiny studio apartment to somewhere sunny

loves to experiment with hairstyles

still has all of those journals

cannot hear out of her left ear due to the time when she was 7 and had an ear infection when she was on a plane causing her eardrum to burst.
