Thanks so much! By other stuff, maybe you mean my other blog - lineslive (I actually have a bunch of drawings that I need to scan and queue up for that). Just in case you many not be aware, I run another blog where I post my drawings from life, of live bands (mostly). It's my favorite subject matter, for real! It presents so many different challenges (limited time span, constant movement on stage, crowds, lighting, no erasing! etc.), and it's really a great time all around. Oh, and it helps in depicting the human figure in my fanart drawings, because it = lots of practice!
I sort of thought these two asks were a bit related. Anatomy and, well, depicting bodies in space - is a huge challenge, and there's no easy way around it - just lots of observation from life when possible, mirrors, and photos (though I usually try to rely on the other two more!). That particular Korrasami picture was based on a photo (saw it here on tumblr!), although the differences between the reference and the finished drawing are just... invented (referenceless). Oh, and all those plants - loosely based on several photos I took at a greenhouse. I can't stress the importance of references and observation from life enough! And well, as stated above, drawing bands constantly for years helps.
