Itachi could only lower his eyebrows with a sadden expression appearing on his face as he heard Mikoto tell him that it was breaking her heart to see how sad he's been ever since the night that Shisui died, slowly the Hokage turned away from the window he was currently looking out of and then on to his mother before stepping away from his spot near the window and began making his way towards the desk that was only a few steps away, once the younger Uchiha sat in his seat, he started to look over some documents that some Anbu leaders handed over to him earlier that day.

But before the young Hokage started to read the documents his attention went back to his mother who was still present in the room at the moment."I'm...sorry Kaa-san." he began to say in an apologetic voice but paused for a few seconds."But...if I don't keep myself busy...I keep getting the thought of that night repeating in mind." he admitted sadly before placing the papers back down on the desk and leaning back against the office chair.

“Yes…Sasuke what is it?” Itachi asked when he felt his younger brother clasping onto his shoulder from behind. The Hokage was on his way to a meeting with the councilors and the fourth Hokage when he felt someone appear from behind him, and knew it was Sasuke by the way the other had taken hold of his shoulder.“Is everything alright?” he asked once more knowing his younger brother wouldn’t interrupt him from attending a meeting with the village’s elders unless there was something he really needed to talk to him about.

“I’m here to protect you”

It was early morning as Itachi stood in the office looking out the window, waiting for the Anbu who was assigned to protect him while he traveled to the hidden sand to attend a meeting with some of the other Kages to discuss on how to deal with an organization that had been going around sealing the tailed beasts. Just as the Hokage was about to move away from the window his ears picked up on the door opening and someone entering while saying that they were going to protect him while he traveled to the sand. Recognizing the voice, Itachi closed his eyes with a slight smile appearing on his face before turning around to face Sasuke with a more serious expression.“Alright…” he replied then began to walk up to the young Anbu and placed a hand on his shoulder before making his way out of the office.

It was around noon hour as Itachi walked up the stairs of the Hokage mansion with a brown paper bag that had dangos hidden inside it, the Uchiha was on his way to the rooftop of the building to eat them for dinner because he thought it was too nice of a day to eat his lunch in the office like he'd normally would do.

Once the Hokage opened the door that gave him access to the rooftop, he stepped outside then walked to the bench that stood in the center and wasn't long sitting down so he could begin eating, but as itachi opened the bag and the container that the sweets were hidden inside, his ears picked up on the sound of the door opening once more."Hm?" he said quietly to himself turning towards the direction instead of taking a bite of his meal, to see who it was exiting the building as well.

⊰ ℕ ⊱—— These were the times he hated, when young genin came to his office, asking for higher level mission. Apparently capturing a cat just wasn't enough. But every ninja had to go through these trials, to prove themselves on their effectiveness before taking on anything higher. Had it of been a few weeks ago, when he'd first received the title of Hokage, maybe he would have said yes, the excitement back then being too much to contain. However he'd grown accustomed to the position, as if he'd taken it over from his father and continued on his work. "I said no. It's too dangerous, and you didn't even pass your exams the first time.. what makes you think you're ready for anything else 'ttebayo?" He muttered out, dismissing them with a wave of his hand and returning to the piles upon piles of paperwork stacked upon his desk.                    Sure, he felt like he was being hard on the youth of Konoha, but they'd thank him later. Of course it also ensured that no one would scold him for allowing such beginners to take on escort missions. After all, whilst he trusted the newest line of sensei, no one could beat Kakashi's leadership, and for that reason he worried for them. "Neh Sakura-chan, were we like that?"

⊰ ℕ ⊱—— When was the last time Naruto had slept? He'd no idea. It seemed like paperwork upon paperwork, and in order to assure usefulness to his village he'd been pulling countless all nighters just to finish up. But it just kept coming and coming and coming. There was no end to the stack by his side, his eyes drooping more each time those sheets came into view. "Neh, Sakura-chan.. no one would mind if they randomly caught fire right..?" He mumbled out, his mind so far gone his usual speech quirk was completely forgotten about, although he did try tone it down on occasion. "I'm not saying they would.. but if they did.. " A yawn, his head moving to rest against the table for a moment. A few hours sleeping wouldn't hurt.. right?

⊰ ℕ ⊱—— The war had come to an end, the battlefield becoming somewhat usable once again and the villages returning to their usual order. Whilst the allied shinobi forces was truly an amazing idea, one Naruto was one hundred percent behind, there still was need for the five kage to return in order to keep the peace within villages, and no one could deny that in the blond's hands, Konoha was truly safe. Although he'd begged his village to keep it an utter secret, the Hokage travelling from village to village and surprising those he'd held close to him. They congratulated him, hugged him, but that wasn't why he went. He wanted to show everything that if you hold tightly enough onto a dream, it can come true if you work hard for it.                      Now it was about time to visit the Kazekage and reveal the big news. Sasuke, the new leader of the police come ANBU force, followed behind, often giving light 'tsks' when Naruto got far too excited and rushed off without meaning to. He wasn't trying to irritate his friend who'd finally returned and had taken the spot of watching over the knuckle-headed leader. Eventually the time for travel was over and they entered the land of sand, meeting up with Temari at the gates and being lead towards the Kaze's hut even though he wanted so desperately to run ahead and greet his friend. But he held back, because he was the Hokage now and image was certainly something that Sasuke would ensure would be kept. If not, Sakura would definitely beat it into him later.                     Upon coming to the door that lead to the main office, Naruto paused and slipped his hokage hat into place, fixing himself somewhat then gently pushing in the door, using the extra fabric of the hat hide his face. His new cloak, an orange affair with black flames and the kanji for 'sixth hokage' sewn in to the back. "Ahh, Kazekage.. are you working hard?" He asked, trying to mask his voice. He didn't want Gaara knowing it was him, not yet.
