Off on a lengthy recon mission when everything went to hell beneath the Whitesprings, 26yo Enclave Lieutenant Brian Richter returned home to an all too empty and destroyed bunker– Thank God at least MODUS remained online.

With an utter lack of competition, it’s easy for him to gain the rank of General – but General of what?

They need more men... Of better stock than those mutated by the wasteland of course.

Amongst potentials seems a prime candidate: the apparently vault-raised subject known as Starling.

Richter accepts the task of training the man, unaware of the things he’ll pick up in turn...

           During the Great War, Captain Brian Richter lived up to the reputation of his family, climbing the ranks of the British Army with diligence and grace not quite as becoming as that of his older brother but reasonably within the footsteps of his father. Given the acceleration and needs of the times, those who knew him predicted he would be promoted to rank of Major by the age of 28.            However, unforeseen circumstances came in the form of an attack on his company one late and deceptively quiet night. According to Captain Richter, a soldier had been bitten by a strange assailant, and as he recovered some outbreak occurred and several men had gone mad and shown beastly powers – As if infected by a mysterious curse. They soon destroyed nearly all of his company. Richter, expecting to lose his own life in the face of their strength, clutched the cross of his late mother from which he suddenly saw 'the most beautiful light’ which frightened his attackers away, convincing the surviving Captain of their demonic origins. The violent men escaped and were never seen again.

           Raised to be an honest man, Richter dutifully recounted his story to his superiors and refused to change it, despite pleading on behalf of the remainders of his men who had witnessed some of the massacre but wisely denied the supernatural elements of the event. 

           His superiors and kin viewed him as having lost his mental capacities and unfit to lead even a Section in his state – Not to mention an utter embarrassment to his proud serving family – It was arranged for Richter to be dismissed in a quiet cover-up of the whole catastrophe.

           Abandoned by his father and brother, with no one else to turn to, Richter remembered the cross of his mother carried next to his heart and sought the advice of the faithful family friend and fellow veteran Tektus, who last he heard had gone into the service of God...

           It was in Reverend Tektus that Richter found, not only a man who believed his story but one who could direct him toward a better purpose: Joining the ranks of the Guard of Priwen, England’s secret army of vampire hunters.

NAME    Brian Richter

BASICS    Cis Male. Age nineteen at the time of the rat plague. Celibate ( though he would have a preference for men )

APPEARANCE    6′2″. Blond. White. Would have freckles if his skin saw more sun. Dark blue hazel eyes. Sturdy muscles on a build that is long and lean ( aside from a barreled chest )

PERSONALITY    Devout, Honest, Goal-Oriented, Rule-Abiding, Asocial, & Stern

BIOGRAPHY    Born in Dunwall, his family was poor but very loving. Unfortunately, his mother passed away when he was eleven, and his father, doubting his ability to provide for both sons on his own, offered his youngest to the Abbey in hopes he’d find a better life there.    Richter holds hidden resentment and jealousy over this while simultaneously viewing the Abbey as a blessing in his life. He strives to benefit the community but values Strictures over compassion.

                                                                    CONSTANCE

   Richter's wolfhound, Constance, is basically black but with a lot of visible brown too. While Constance tends to be more popular than her master, she’s extremely obedient and devoted. She has a favorite ball and she licks a lot ( even for a wolfhound. )    NOTE: Constance is as much a character as Richter. Please do not godmod the dog or presume to take possession of her without permission.

man i kinda have richters fc5 verse writeup done [ if very wip ] but i dont wanna actually post it until after i post the comic bc if i spoil the mini comic i might get too lazy to finish it lmao

heres the mini overview i have so far tho:

A peggy in the Whitetail region, Richter wears the cross of Eden’s gate painted red over his right eye, eventually having it tattooed there at the time of the Reaping.

While he lives in Jacob’s region and works there with absolutely loyalty, he feels indebted to his friend and ‘ savior ’ Atticus Starling. His understanding of the Project corrupted affected by Starling’s perceptions, Richter tends to keep camp and company with the man, the two of them a strange pair of recluses even amongst the Family.

relies more upon his peers to detect leeches than himself* ( mesmerize is probably only at a 3 or 4 ? )

an efficient fighter/leader but not a tactical genius

though he has strong survival instincts he probably expects to eventually die and will fight ferociously for others or out of vengeance but not so much for himself if he believes he’s served his purpose

*note: this is probably a good way to leave him open for interactions with ekon characters - if someones coming after him to fight  ( or if his superiors gave him a name to take care of ) then he knows theyre trouble... but if he stumbles on someone while alone and theyre acting human enough ( esp if they work a lil vampire mind magic ) hell believe theyre mortal more easily than he should
