VESARTE
Vesarte is an art movement from Pamplona. It was created in 2008, and since then it has been promoting altruist ways of creating and consuming art.
They want to protest against the capitalist socioeconomic system. In which they believe art is only used to monetize.
One of the most important protest the have made is the Helena Torres Painting. Helena Torres was the president of Navarra’s parlament, and as usual when her time ran out as president, the parlament payed for a portrait for her, for the Presidents Hall. The painting the government asked for was 7000 Euros worth. Vesarte offered a free portrait in asking the government to use the mone, for a better cause. The government rejected the offer, so Vesarte made another painting of two clowns, and then they sold it on an auction starting at 7000 euros, with the purpose of donating the money. Also they made a protest in the streets of Pamplona.
I made a compiliation of some of the Vesarte’s videos explaining what is Vesarte, what is their mission and also the Helena Torres Painting.
