Character Name: Lucius Malfoy

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys? Quidditch. Out of practice now but he still has the occasional habit of flying for fun. His second through fifth year of school was spent playing as a chaser. Unfortunately, the hobby was given up the summer after his fifth year. His father took one look at the captain pin he received and told him to send it back, declaring that his son did not have the making of a quidditch player and needed to focus on his academics (the expectation of his heir securing a Ministry position upon graduating) instead of wasting time on something he wasn’t good at.

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships? Ships: Lucius/Narcissa Lucius/Severus Lucius/Narcissa/Severus (either a poly sort of deal or a powerful friendship because oh my goodness, do I love how the Malfoys made Severus one of their own) Anti-ships: Anything forced. I headcanon Lucius as demisexual - valuing emotional connections before looks - but he would claim he is straight if asked since that term definitely is not something that exists in the group’s time period.

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why? His wife and son are dead. Pre-Draco’s birth had him focused on keeping himself alive long enough to welcome his child. Now the plan is to keep the whole family intact, hoping that they will be given a moment of peace once the dust settles. He has enough faith in Narcissa to know she would be able to manage if anything ever resorted in his death but things seeming to drag out has him certain the war won’t leave his son without one or both of his parents. As for why - Although self-centered, Lucius cares deeply about his loved ones. He is in the habit of referring to Draco as his son, not his heir. The need to produce an heir is a topic his father cares deeply about. Lucius would have been happy with a little girl and trying again or even just having one child, given the amount of struggling it took to bring their first kid into the world.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve? People that stand in the middle of the lift when he and they are the only people in the one at the Ministry. Especially if they don’t move to step aside. Arthur Weasley - there’s just something about the man’s very existence that gets on his nerves.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character? His morning routine. Looking good takes a lot of time, money, and effort. The routine involves thoroughly cleaning himself before work, tossing on moisturizer, and making sure his hair is presentable enough to venture into the Ministry. The Malfoy name alone is powerful enough to not need to worry about looks, but Lucius likes accentuating that power with good looks and confidence.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why? Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Lucius excelled in those classes and took his education very seriously, to a point of earning top marks, a head boy position, and a non-entry level position at the Ministry during his seventh year.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year? Sunset. There is something blissful about looking over the garden, spotting the silhouette of the peacocks, and watching the sun go down over his property. Summer. Cold weather makes Lucius miserable. He got sent to the hospital wing during a quidditch incident in his fifth year and is still doubting his knee fully recovered from the bludger that hit it — snow and rain bring the aches and pains out.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why? A peahen. No reason outside of admitting it seems fitting for him.

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)? Cigarettes. They serve as something to keep his hands busy if his anxiety spikes.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations? Extroverted introvert. Lucius doesn’t mind having eyes on him but would happily pick curling up on a chaise lounge with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other over having to deal with people. People are exhausting. He’s never particularly liked crowds but can navigate them without issue. His upbringing involved his father forcing him into social situations and sternly making sure his heir knew how to behave when out in public. Protesting about not wanting to be the center of attention was not an option.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food? Lucius prefers the best food money can buy. Main preference for greens — he takes his salads seriously. Does wine count as food?? No? *sighs* Alright, well I guess that makes four-layer caviar dip his favorite food. Has to be the recipe his mom preferred or he won’t touch it.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point? Snob - Very aristocratic. Focused on appearances. Does not associate with those he believes are lesser than him. Do not ask him about his son since he will more than likely go off about how thankful he is for his wife for bringing their child into the world and insist on talking about Draco’s coos and smiles being cuter than anyone else’s kid. Draco being brought up is truthfully the easiest way to crack through the confident mask he usually uses — the kid has him wrapped around his fingers and isn’t even a year old yet Confidence - Lucius naturally oozes confidence and seems calm and collected when in public. However, he is using it to mask the feelings of anxiety and paranoia that are beginning to grate his thoughts. The birth of his son made him aware that he intends to stick around and start doting on his family. He has an underlying fear of doing something that further jeopardizes his family’s safety. Love - Obsessed with his reflection, Lucius has been spending a lot of time focusing on himself and his family. Certainly, he loves every perfect aspect about himself and his wife. The addition of their little bundle of joy has left him realizing he has more love to give than anticipated. Most of which is no longer dedicated to himself. Loving himself proved to counteract the feelings of disappointment and loss that accompanied the physical and emotional distance his father used while raising him (and still uses). He has a decent self-care routine down because of this Proper - Everything has its place in the manor. Appearances must be kept up and things must be clean. Anything remotely out of place can cause him to feel anxious. Lucius seldom wears the same outfit more than twice. He keeps up with fashion and is one of the first to obtain new looks from the top lines Head over heels for his perfect life, wife, and son — definition of the proper pureblood family Mock - snobbish tendencies have left him quick to mock others. At this point, he barely needs to think before a rude comment or scoff passes his lips. Devastating - “It is often said of the Malfoy family that you will never find one at the scene of the crime, though their fingerprints might be all over the guilty wand.” Lucius has a vast knowledge of poisons and no shame in paying others to do the dirty work for him. His ranking at the Ministry has him more in the know about what’s going on than others in the cause. Lucius is also fairly experienced in using lies to undermine coworkers, having an eloquent and confident enough way of speaking to get others to believe what he says Power. Influence - The two practically go hand-in-hand for Lucius. He can pull a lot of influence from the confidence and better-than-everyone facade he typically hides behind. The power comes from having a liar’s tongue, the ability to speak confidently even though he may not truly support what he says, and his having more money than he knows what to do with Close Calls - The near misses have left Lucius anxious about permanently losing his wife. The raid on the manor should have been something he was prepared for. Not feeling prepared followed by his wife getting sent away left him truly believing the love of his life would be gone for good Less Important - as a high-ranking Ministry official and liking to think he’s been fairly dedicated to the cause, Lucius is above menial tasks. He’s not liking being sent on mission after mission and is reading too far into it, truthfully wary that he did something that may have caused the Dark Lord’s feelings toward him and his abilities to shift. Tired - a general way of describing Lucius. Things have hit the point of feeling monotonous. He feels as though he’s just going through the motions when it comes to working and the cause, wanting nothing more for things to settle down so he can shift his focus to his wife, son, and nothing else. Loyal - Once earned, Lucius’s loyalty is unwavering. It is beginning to crack a little in regards to the cause but he is doing his best to keep that to just himself, knowing things will go poorly if he does anything to hint at his being discontent about not being able to focus on family Fear - With the family line secured by having produced an heir, Lucius’s fear of losing his wife all together has slowly begun to dissipate. He is incredibly fearful of doing something to jeopardize the little family they have started and will do whatever it takes to ensure his wife and son are kept safe. This has left him shifting his focus on the cause to ensure he doesn’t do something to fall from where he is currently ranked with the death eaters. One wrong move could prove disastrous.

Give us a headcanon for your character. Anything is acceptable. Lucius’s father is incredibly controlling. The first decade of his son’s life involved strict instruction and proving he was worthy of being the Malfoy heir. Likely took things as far as claiming he could replace Lucius with a better son as a means of controlling his behavior. Abraxas was not opposed to laying a hand (wand in extreme cases) on his son if the situation called for it. He micromanaged Lucius’s life while he was at school, often requiring the head of house to serve as his eyes and ears. Lucius does not like using contractions when he speaks. He tries to avoid words like “can’t,” “don’t,” and “won’t” and prefers sticking to using the full word(s) instead. The only agreement he and his father shared when he was little goes out to him thinking contractions are a lazy way of speaking Lucius is fluent in English, French, Latin, and Italian. Lucius does not like getting his hands dirty. The thought of another’s blood getting on him makes him feel sick to his stomach. He prefers a more behind the scenes approach when it comes to the cause: researching poisons, flowers, etc. and ways of doing damage that doesn’t involve the more sadistic ways of the other death eaters; paying outside sources to go in for the kill; spreading rumors at work to bring down other ministry employees; planning large scale attacks but not usually placing himself in as a main part of the plan; Let the new recruits tackle that and give him something interesting to do He’s hit the point of getting tired of menial tasks and wanting to retire at home with his wife and son

Character Name: James Fleamont Amias Potter With names such as Euphemia and Fleamont, his parents really wanted their son to have a less ancient name. They had quarrelled over possible options (one of such being John to James terror because he could have shared a name with the John bloody Lennon!) and finally settled for James. As his mother argued, it has a nice ring to it and was historical enough that he could never face any pureblooded elitist discrimination over it. They did add more traditional names as his second and third since they felt it was a necessity.

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys?: James can be found doing anything and everything for as long as he is being active. If he is not stationary he’s good. That means flying on his broom, hiking in the Highlands, strolling through Muggle London or meeting for a cuppa (or a pint) with his friends are all very valid ways of spending his free time. Any activity that keeps him moving is what he needs to stay sane, however, with Lily’s pregnancy James is all the more content to spend his days prepping the house for a child. He has found immense pleasure in setting the nursery and putting together the crib without the use of magic. He’s settling down into the role of a father, something that feels is so much more important the closer they are to meeting their child and it’s helping him mature even more. And maybe, just maybe, Harry is going to be falling asleep to James reading him transmutation textbooks instead of fairy tales.

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships?: Would I be joining such a group if I didn’t like Jily?

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why?: Tw:accident As a child growing up in an old magical house, James has had a misfortune of seeing several boggarts. In fact, around his seventh birthday, the Potters actually had a huge problem with one that kept reappearing in his very own closet for close to two weeks. It kept scaring him, especially at night, because even though he knew what it was, a magical creature set on showing him his biggest fears was not exactly something he could just ignore and go to sleep. But as a child, he used to see all the regular things. Snakes and spiders and then an occasional bloodied pirate. Until one of their neighbours died in a freak accident. Dorothea Hayward was in her forties when she misstepped on a stair and fell down two floors breaking her neck in the process. It reverberated strongly within the Potter’s household because she was Euphemia’s best friend and their most frequent visitor. She also used to babysit James whenever the need arose and she always baked the most tooth-rottingly sweet pies. To be honest, she was more of an aunt to him than his actual aunts were. He was eight when he finally understood what death meant and around that same time realised that his parents were much older than regular parents were meant to be. It is normal for a child to get separation anxiety at a certain point in life, but his turned into a regular trauma. He couldn’t sleep at night and when he did, he’d wake up screaming for them after having seen various visions of their demise. It lessened slightly after he actually went to school, but he always worried that every goodbye could be the last one. Fortunately, the school was more or less void of boggarts because he didn’t exactly fancy the idea of his schoolmates seeing him shatter at the sole thought of becoming an orphan. Now, as he’s all grown up and fighting a war, he hasn’t seen a single boggart in years but if he did it would most likely resemble a tragedy striking their family — Lily losing their child, Lily dying or any of the boys doing so while he is unable to save them.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve?: James cannot understand how some people can choose to be neutral in this war. It’s impossible for him to believe that there are others so absolutely uncaring about the whole thing and deciding to stray clear of the conflict. Obviously, he cannot understand how people can think other’s so far below them to start actively targeting them, but somehow the fact, that there are blood purists out there is much more comprehensible than the existence of those who claim to be neutral. Especially, since no one can stay untouched by the war in the long run.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character?: Despite having spent his whole adult life actively fighting in a war, James had never stopped being loyal to a fault. He values loyalty and friendship above all else and is physically unable to distrust those closest to him. In general, he either trusts you completely or believes you are a Death Eater even though there are so many shades of grey in real life, It, to some extent, has to do with his disbelief in not choosing a side. You are either with him or against and that’s naive, but it is something that allows him to stay sane.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why?: Transfiguration became James’ favourite subject the minute Minerva McGonagall introduced herself to the class. She was an imposing witch, one that simply demanded respect and would not have it any other way, but boy, was she fun to mess with. It simply became a thing of honour for him to make McGonagall crack with laughter over one of his pranks, and while he never achieved that goal, he was certain that the occasional sudden glint in her eyes was more than just a reflection of light. It helped matters greatly that James simply had a knack for transfiguration and loved to study it, quickly moving to more advanced spells and techniques while at school and then further exploring the subject after graduation.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year?: James loves early mornings. While he is also a person who enjoys sleeping almost as much as flying, it might be surprising how much he enjoys seeing a day be born. Holding a cup of coffee in one hand and stroking their ginger cat with another, he likes to just look out of the window of their soon-to-be-born baby and relax. In moments like this, he can imagine having no worries while at the same time bracing himself for the incoming day. Of course, it’s not every day that he wakes up early enough, but it’s definitely a frequent occurrence.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why?: When James had first conjured a corporeal Patronus, he hadn’t been surprised to see the mighty deer. He had heard before that the spell usually took on a form identical to that of a person’s animagus (however, most books said it the other way around as teenagers shouldn’t be able to master that kind of magic) and yet he still felt proud. A deer Patronus indicates that the wizard has a strong intuition, especially towards anything dangerous. Deers are also presented as majestic animals, filled with grace and gentleness. The meanings associated with the deer combine both soft, gentle qualities with strength and determination. And he’s not ashamed of that symbolism.

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)?: James can’t stay put. There’s a huge reservoir of energy deep inside of him that needs to find an outlet regularly and that usually means he doesn’t stop fidgeting or else he gets cranky and can explode. He bores easily and needs constant stimulation. That also sometimes can mean he rushes headfirst into action before thinking things through, which had caused him a few mistakes and injuries in the past. He had to put actual effort into changing that side of himself and he had been somewhat successful (a part of his growing up process) in slowing down, but not entirely and definitely not always. However, it does still require effort and when emotions take over him he loses that control.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations?: As a child James used to crave attention. While his parents loved him and made sure he wasn’t lacking in anything they were old and tired and most of the time he was left alone to his own devices simply because they couldn’t keep up. Going to Hogwarts was a dream come true to him because not only could he finally start learning magic, but he was also surrounded by hundreds of people around his age. And James easily thrives while surrounded by others. In a social situation he likes to make sure everyone feels included. No one can be left alone or feel down when there are others in the room. James will make sure of that.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food?: There is a lot of food that James doesn’t like. He’s beyond picky, something that always drove his mother mad, but he’s stubborn and always had been and if he says that he will not eat this or that – won’t. And it’s not about him not eating things that could be considered garbage, either. It’s not about only stuffing his mouth with expensive and good in quality ingredients, but rather the few dishes he likes the taste of, and he can live solely on those. In fact, if faced with a necessity (or under no supervision) he’d be happy to eat the same thing seven days in a raw. For as long as there is no corn in it or pineapple, or it’s a pizza with nothing else, but pepperoni and mushrooms.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point?: James doesn’t really notice any physical changes in himself. When he looks into the mirror, he doesn’t notice the wrinkles that are showing on his face and shouldn’t have place on a twenty-year-old or how his jaw is tight whenever he’s not smiling. In fact, he himself tries really hard not to change too much. It’s a small rebellion on his part as he is not allowing the war to force itself onto his person. He refuses to stop trusting people to keep a grip on anything he recognizes from the life before the war. Or actually, his life before he took a part in this war since he was still at school when it started. But he’s quieter now. He still jokes and messes around, but it’s more forced since he knows it’s inappropriate. There are people dying every day because of the war and if he keeps joking it’s like he’s mocking their sacrifice. But some people want to pretend that nothing has changed, so he tries to bring smiles to people’s faces during particularly tedious meetings. And usually, for a moment, it feels like everything is good with the world again. He really wants the war to end, even if it’s hard to imagine. The war has been going on for so many years now, that perhaps a world without it is impossible. It’s wearing him down… Making him anxiously reach for his wand at the slightest of rustles and observe his surroundings even if he’s somewhere supposedly safe. He doesn’t want this kind of life for his child, for his wife and for his extended family and friends. He has already lost so much to the war. Both his and Lily’s parents were dead and that meant, that were anything to happen to the two of them, their child wouldn’t even have grandparents that could take care of him. This war needed to end and it needed to end soon.

Give us a headcanon for your character. Anything is acceptable.: James would love to have a huge family. At least four kids and preferably with as small age gaps as possible so no child of his could ever feel lonely. But with Harry surprising them, they can’t really fulfill that particular dream so he will make sure that his son is never alone.

Character Name: Andromeda Eirene Black Tonks - She has always felt that her name was particularly fitting for herself. Andromeda, the chained maiden; she always felt trapped in her family, even if she couldn’t identify the feeling until she was older. Trapped by her family, by their reputation, by the weight of expectations. Eirene - meaning peace, a trait she has always attempted to embody. Even at home, as much as she tried to be unseen by the rest of her family, she equally tried to bring peace when there was conflict. She has left behind her maiden name, choosing to shed her Black identity as easily as she shed the expensive gowns that she left behind. Instead, she revels in being Andromeda Tonks. Ted has and always will embody all the good that she sees in the world and she wants nothing more than to attempt to imitate him to the best of her ability.

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys? Andie began learning to cook after she married Ted; before, she never needed to cook. So with Ted, she learned to cook the Muggle way and discovered that she loves working with her hands in that way. She cooks herself as much as possible, and loves any type of cooking. Her favorite thing is to bake cookies with Dora but whenever she’s worried, she’ll disappear into the kitchen to cook and alleviate her stress that way. (A controlled outcome, something she can predict and determine, is very important to Andie. Relinquishing control is very hard for her, and there is very little that she can control anymore.)

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships? I am and always will be a Tedromeda shipper. I think they have the most beautiful love story and I always have enjoyed the chance to write it. The changes she goes through in order to be with him are so fascinating and compelling to me. (Sorry, this has deviated a little from the actual question but long story short: there is no other ship that I can see for Andromeda.)

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why? Andie is most afraid of her sister Bellatrix. She doesn’t want to see her other family members (well … Narcissa, maybe, because the only guilt Andie has ever held for her choice to be with Ted is the fact that she had to abandon her younger sister to be happy) but there’s far more fear of her older sister than anyone else. She has no doubt that Bellatrix could and would hurt her if given the chance, and Andie will do everything in her power to protect herself - and more importantly, her new family. So her boggart takes the form of her oldest sister, attacking Andie’s family.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve? Sloppiness - whether that’s the form of an actually dirty house or room, or just someone looking ill-kempt or slovenly. It is not unusual for her to be found moving around the room when there’s an Order meeting at the Tonks home, tidying up after their guests even while they are in the middle of the meeting. She doesn’t go so far as to make them remove their shoes (although it’s thought that has been given a lot of consideration) but she’ll pick up glasses and set coasters under them, or run a rag over a sticky spot on the table during the meeting (not even a glare from Moody himself is enough to stop her; he’s not that intimidating, not compared to Cygnus or Bellatrix Black. She will stop at a look or comment from Dumbledore, of course).

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character? Andie is very particular about the aspects of Muggle culture that she takes into her life. For example: cleaning and cooking the Muggle way is acceptable and enjoyable; Muggle travel is totally out of the question, except when it’s absolutely necessary. She finds Muggle money absurd, and has little wish to be in Muggle cities, but she loves Muggle fashion and prefers it to anything she wore as a Black. The wireless is fascinating, and the cinema (she loves watching films), and the television, but she doesn’t like or understand the need for a telephone. And don’t get her started on pens or pencils; quills are highly preferable and she consistently refuses to use any of Ted’s writing utensils except in extreme circumstances.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why? Andromeda always liked potions. It was a controlled form of magic, something where she could predict the outcome. Follow the steps, make the potion. She also got along fairly well with Slughorn and enjoyed that aspect; not all the professors were as easy to befriend and while she never disliked a class because of a professor, liking her professor helped a lot.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year? The best time of day, in Andie’s opinion, can be divided into two specific moments of the day. First, the very early morning when she and Ted are up together, making breakfast or just sitting and enjoying their tea, before Dora joins them. It’s important to Andie that she and Ted have moments to themselves, to remember their relationship apart from their daughter. But she also loves the early evenings, when she comes home with Dora and together they start making dinner. She loves to hear everything Dora has to say about her day and what she’s done. Her favorite time of year is summer, when she and Ted and Dora have longer hours to do things in the evenings after dinner. She doesn’t particularly like being bundled up for the cold and revels in the chance to wear shorts or dresses without added layers.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why? Andie’s Patronus takes the form of a tiger. She conjures it with the memory of the first time Ted told her that he loved her. (The tiger symbolizes an independent person who doesn’t like to show weakness to others and is a bit cynical due to their past, all of which Andie embodies. Information found here.)

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)? Andie is arrogant. It’s a bad habit, and one she has tried to break, and also one that only affects certain things (for example, she doesn’t view any group of people as better than others; she isn’t the sort to think she’s better than Muggleborns, for example) but it’s certainly there. She grew up being told that her family was the best and that’s a hard lesson to shake off, no matter how false she knew it to be. So even though she knows she isn’t better than anyone else, she’s still shaking off that arrogance that seems to be born into the Blacks.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations? Andie is an introvert. She prefers to be at home with her family rather than out with other people. She learned how to handle herself in social settings though - she didn’t like all the attempts to teach her how to be a pureblood lady, but she learned them very well. Now, it’s extremely rare for her to let on how badly she wants to be alone when she’s surrounded by people. If they’re at her house, she wants them to leave, and if she’s out, she wants to go home. She can circulate and make small talk with the best of people though, so no one would know her inner turmoil.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food? Andie has worked very hard to learn how cook healthy meals for her family (and encourage Dora to eat and enjoy them, although she settles for just seeing Dora eat the food at this stage in life). Their meals are almost always homemade, as Andie turns her nose up at most restaurant meals (with the exception of a few places, or the times Ted really works to sweet-talk her into a family night out.). Meals are also quite varied, as she likes a challenge in the kitchen and is always looking for something that her daughter will enjoy. She’s never really sat to think about her favorite foods though. However, Andie loves popcorn and often pops some for her and Dora and Ted to enjoy after dinner.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point? Andie is becoming more and more brittle as the war progresses. She is, at heart, a soft person, the kind with seemingly endless optimism and hope for the future, who can forgive and love and welcome people into her life with open arms. However, much of that was ruthlessly squelched under her family’s influence, and now is fading even more as the war progresses. Andie values her poise above almost everything else; she sees a lot of self-worth in how well she can handle a crisis without falling to pieces and the thought of actually cracking under the pressure she feels is unbearable. Where she was once more cheerful and hopeful, she has become more fearful and pessimistic. She hides it as much as she can, and her spectacular poise means it’s hard to see past the polite expressions to the true turmoil underneath. Perhaps the hardest part is the distance she feels from Ted now; at Hogwarts, she felt like they were inseparable, that nothing could ever come between them, that she could go to him with anything and that he felt the same way. But she’s seen his struggles and though she’s waited for him to come to her, he withdraws instead. Andie has never handled rejection very well, and seeing his withdrawal only makes her withdraw as well. She wants to turn to him and be supported and offer support, but she doesn’t know anymore how to bring it up. It’s starting to wear on her, and Dora is starting to realize something is different at home. She’s empathetic but it means that she has taken a very heavy burden during the war (one of the reasons she couldn’t work at St. Mungo’s was because the weight of working with all those people would be too much for her; it’s easier to work privately, offering aid as she can to a select group of people).

Give us a headcanon for your character. Anything is acceptable. Andie is a clean freak. She has always kept her things tidy, and when she left her family and joined Ted, she learned that cleaning the Muggle way (much like cooking the Muggle way) is very rewarding. She has a strict schedule for cleaning their house (it isn’t very big, but Dora generates a lot of chaos and mess) and rarely deviates from the schedule. When she’s especially stressed, she can often be found scrubbing the baseboards or beating a rug, something that requires more exertion from her. It is not unusual these days for her to wake in the middle of the night and turn to cleaning when she can’t fall back asleep.

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys: Sirius’ most proud possession and the thing he spends most of his time on is his motorbike. He owns a 1972 Triumph Bonneville, a zippy 5-speed cafe racer, which he has modified to increase the output to 900cc. He is currently holding off on making it fly. That would require a full rebuild and the total takeover of the Potter shed, which no one is ready for just yet.

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships?: Chemistry-based, completely open. Sirius is not one to get attached, so ships beware.

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why?: Sirius used to have his father as his boggart. When he was young, his father was the strongest dominant presence in his life. His father took corporal punishment seriously and his family loomed over all aspects of his life. Now, Sirius’ boggart has changed to his new family, James and Lily. In his greatest fears, his friends finally see him as a worthless fraud and cast him aside, shunning him forever. More vividly, James spits at him and tells him to get out and that he never wants to see him again. And in this fear, Sirius knows James means it.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve?: Sirius can be irritable when he is in one of his moods. So his list of pet peeves can be long, depending on how he’s feeling internally. The one that stays constant is hating when people tell him what to do. He spent half his life forced to do things he didn’t want to, or being bossed around, or poked and prodded. He is still quite sensitive to people, especially people of authority telling him what to do. Dumbledore is a respected presence in the Order, but Sirius has little trust for older men in general.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character?: Sirius’ wagging tongue. His sense of humour is often trying on people’s nerves, especially if they are at the tail end of it. The Marauders have gotten used to it by now, but the badly timed one-liners can still be a bit much. He uses his humour to deal with his own emotions and its comes in the form of crude attacks at the people he loves most. Its also quite immature but at this point, it’d be too much of an effort to stop. Besides, he loves the reaction.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why?: Sirius didn’t really fancy school. He hated feeling like he was being judged by teachers who marked his tests. He was smart but he couldn’t be bothered to try. He liked any class that he could move around in, but defence against the dark arts provided ample time to goof around with his mates while also learning cool spells.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year?: Sirius loves Christmas, despite having to go home for it. The holiday has always been his favourite and so December (winter), is his favourite time of year. His favourite time of day is the early afternoon. Although he is most productive at night, he hates having to get to sleep. And mornings are never long enough for sleeping, or he’s too foggy when he gets up to do anything. By around the afternoon, he’s usually full and going about his day.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why?: Sirius is working on being able to cast a patronus. Its a difficult spell and not to mention there are no emotional “cheats” he can use. One has to be fully open and honest and thats a scary thing for Sirius to do, even with himself. His spirit is definitely a dog, to match his animagus. He’s loyal, but also reckless and wild. He also has a bit of an attitude.

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)?: His biggest vice is definitely his sense of humour. He relies on it to get out of pretty much every situation. Its really hard for him to show love and accept love from the people around him. Its easier just to push them away with insults, disguised under jokes. In terms of a physical vice, he drinks a lot. And he really likes sex. He just wants to let go and have fun, shrugging off all the negative. This sometimes helps, but it can become a bit excessive and self-destructive. He will do pretty much anything to get away from his feelings.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations?: Sirius is definitely an extrovert. He likes having a lot of people around him. When he’s alone, he’s easily bored and distracted and moody. He needs attention (good or bad) from people around him and he can’t get that when he’s alone. He also starts thinking when he’s not with others, which defeats a lot of his coping mechanisms. At a party, Sirius is found on the dance floor. He enjoys the pounding music in his ears and fanny all around him. He likes to drink (social occasions make him drink a lot), and show off. As it starts to die off and he gets tired, he’d disappear outside with James for a fag, or the Marauders would split to find somewhere else to go. Sirius has an ease about him that just draws people in. They won’t get to know the real Sirius though, no one does.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food?: Sirius eats everything. His diet is your entire fridge. He really likes chips and gravy, or sweets. He also sometimes has cravings from his pureblood days for really fancy cheeses and wine. He hates to admit that he still suffers from “purebloodisms” from time to time.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point?: Sirius has a lot of trouble sleeping. This has gotten worse as the war picked up. He used to have trouble sleeping while he was still at home, but the nightmares disappeared once he moved out. To his dismay, they’re back again with a vengeance. This has made him really frustrated with himself, and he feels stuck in his past. Sirius feels like he can’t get close to anyone. He doesn’t know how to open up, how to love, how to show someone he cares about them. He doesn’t even realize he’s this way. All he knows is that he’s really lonely. His recklessness is at its usual high, but he seems to have just given into it. He’s not really trying to control his anger or his wild side right now, focusing on just letting go to have fun. How long can he ignore things before they just go away? He’s stubborn enough to try.

Give us a headcanon for your character: - Although people often think of Sirius as being very impulsive, he has a lot of trouble making important decisions. It takes him a long time to process things and  when the stakes are high, theres no hiding behind banter and anger. - Anger: Sirius has never been taught how to deal with anger, aside from violent outbursts and manipulation. As a result, when Sirius gets angry, he tends to get violent. His anger management is something he’s working on however, and he is very much aware of how similar he is to his father. - Luckily, his pride often works in conjunction with his “sense of humour,” and he doesn’t get angry too often. - Pride: Sirius is very much a “Black,” despite having escaped his place at the head of the table. The only thing scarier than an angry Sirius Black, is the lengths he’ll go to, to save face. False bravado, cockiness, arrogance, “fuckboy attitude,” and sense of humour are all tools used to deflect deflect deflect. - The Marauders know what buttons to push to get him going, and it might even be comical to some the lengths this Black will go to, to spin a story, deflect attention (or bask in it), or flat out make fun of anything possible, to keep his pride. But beware how far you can push him, Sirius explodes like a canon and there no safety. - Disco: His favourite type of music, despite often wearing band tees or listening to British punk, is actually disco. He likes the beat, he loves to dance, and he’s quite fond of the “escape” it provides.

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys? A creature of primal instincts, there are not many things Bellatrix enjoys besides sex and murder — but being raised in the center of wealth as a Black has shown her that there is much more life has to offer someone like her. The first is incredibly immature, but even as a grown woman, Bellatrix enjoys bullying. Over the years, her ways of bullying have become different and much more intense, but whenever faced with someone who she considers beneath her or who she actively dislikes, her first instinct is to harass them. The second hobby of Bellatrix goes hand in hand with her unstable personality, but she thoroughly enjoys anatomy. It’s only been a more recent interest of hers — starting when she’d sliced open the arm of a muggleborn and found herself intrigued by the muscles inside of it. She recently brings home corpses, or even occasionally, live captures, and then dissects them for her own curiosity. Her final more gruesome interest has to be hunting — both animals and people, she enjoys the thrill of the hunt, she can chase something all around a forest, inflicting injuries along the way, until they lay before her, broken and beaten, and she finally releases them from the brutal grip of life. She has turned the woods all around her home into a death trap, perfect grounds to send whoever she mentions to capture — or occasionally, whenever she gets bored, one of the house-elves — into for her own amusement. Aside from these three, Bellatrix enjoys music. It was one of the very few interests her parents attempted to force on her that she actually enjoyed, and she can be frequently found playing dark symphonies on the piano. A fan of the finer things in life, she also enjoys the more luxurious things the world has to offer every now and then, like expensive dinners and satins draping her body.

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships? I don’t necessarily have any preferred ships or anti-ships, I enjoy the concepts of Rodolphus x Bellatrix and Voldemort x Bellatrix, but I prefer to see where chemistry takes me instead. I feel like she would not in the least bit be loyal to her husband in that aspect, so I’m very open to any kind of relationship (with those of the right blood-status, of course) with her.

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why? Her greatest fear is incredibly obvious in everything Bellatrix does — she lives to please her master, and would sooner die than disappoint him. Though she hasn’t ever seen a Boggart, she is well aware of what her fear is, and often has nightmares of the Dark Lord casting her out, burning away the mark on her lower arm. She is terrified of losing both the position of power she has as his right hand too, though that would be less prominent in viewing a Boggart — but it brings her down from being the Persephone at her Hades’ side to just another pureblood woman trapped in a marriage she didn’t ask for nor want.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve? There are many things that irritate Bellatrix and she does not hesitate to tell people whenever they are participating in one of them, or rather, to punish them for it so in the future, they will not even dare to step on her toes. However, one of her biggest irritations is being considered less solely because she was born a woman — Bellatrix has played the role of meek before if it got her what she wanted, but God forbid anyone thinks this is her true nature. Bellatrix has always considered being a woman an incredibly powerful aspect of her person — and she will strike down with the fury of hell to anyone who attempts to see her as less than what she truly is, and what she truly is is terrifying.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character? With the exception of Lord Voldemort — she will betray literally anyone and everything to serve her master — Bellatrix is incredibly loyal to those she cares for. There is a certain passion to her as a person, and it shows in her relationship with those people, especially her family — the members of it that still matter anyway. Narcissa is the person besides her master who she’d be the most loyal to, her only remaining sister, she would die to save her if it was necessary. However, if anyone breaks her trust or takes advantage of her loyalty, Bellatrix is not above casting them aside like they were dirt, murder them in cold blood, or act like they never existed to begin with — the latter especially applying to Andromeda.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why? Fitting to her sorting in Slytherin house, her favorite subject in Hogwarts was Potions. Not only was it something she excelled at, brewing the most lethal concoctions since her first year at the school, it was taught by the only teacher she even partially respected, Professor Slughorn.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year? Bellatrix has always thrived during the night. Darkness felt familiar to the rest of her mind, darkness was where you could commit the most awful deeds unseen until the morning arrived. It fits her better, compliments her complexion, and she has always felt at home under the light of the moon. Her favorite time of year is the winter, and she particularly enjoys the sight of blood in the snow — especially if she was the one to help spill it. Her wardrobe matches her favorite day and time of year, wearing almost entirely black and capes lined with fur, her face the only pale thing amongst it.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why? While she is most definitely unable to cast one, Bellatrix’ Patronus would be a cheetah: (x) Those with this patronus is incredibly ambitious, and at times very impatient. They like their animal, have the tendency to rush into things or want to get things done quickly. They often look at the big picture rather than the small details, and focus on this in everything they do. Those who are tedious test their patience and annoy them greatly. They are always looking to have a good time or jump into the next activity of their choosing.

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)? There are many immoral things Bellatrix craves, she smokes, she drinks, she lays with others besides her husband — but blood and death must be the biggest among them. While she used to have a better handle on her temper, Bellatrix has killed for the most trivial of reasons — and even sometimes, solely to see how well someone bled, or how their organs piled out of their body when her slashing curse hit the stomach. She is almost fascinated by it as a concept, which is why she has found herself so incredibly intrigued by anatomy. Her current biggest wish, aside from seeing Lord Voldemort victorious, of course, is to see a beating heart inside someone’s chest. She was always too rough with her victims, killing them before she could get to it — but she is fascinated by death, by a heartbeat stopping right in front of her, and will make sure she sees it soon enough.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations? Being raised a Black meant being raised in the heart of pureblood society, and despite her more chaotic personality, Bellatrix thrives in social situations. Her acting abilities allow her to draw the rooms’ attention quite quickly, if her presence alone had not been enough. In general, she is quite extroverted, voicing her thoughts and desires easily around others of the same mind — but never has she actually opened up to people besides those she trusts the most, fearing the chance of them possibly using the knowledge they gather against her, and by proxy, Voldemort.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food? As mentioned previously, Bellatrix enjoys the finer things in life, including food. She only ever wants the best, cutting off her house-elves hands if they dare serve her something below adequate. Dining outside the house is something she also enjoys, though only in select locations where she knows her food is prepared by hands belonging to purebloods or house-elves, and where she is served only the best of the best. It has not been a rare occasion for her to burn down a restaurant solely because the food or drinks were disappointing. Some of her favorites include white caviar, truffles, Iberian ham and foie gras.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point? Practically everything about Bellatrix shows off her psychological issues. It started with the fact that she should’ve been born a man — the heir to her family, but was not. It made her crave power more than anything, to prove to her father and others that she could be the heir he’d dreamed of. She strives to be the best, to tower miles above others like a man of her name would, and like her father, will only bow down to the Dark Lord. Bellatrix is a nightmare whenever she loses a game or fails at a mission — especially if her opponent is of the male counterpart. The second also has to do with her father, who was never exactly nurturing towards her, and caused her to look for someone who was — something that Lord Voldemort quickly took advantage of, and even the smallest things he’d taught her were better than anything her father ever had. She adores him to the point of obsession, and will literally do anything he asks if it pleases him — instead of the defiance she’d always shown her father. There is also the instability of her mental state. Though she used to have much more control over her temper and bloodlust, it seems that with every time she kills or hurts someone, the demons inside her mind slip further and further out of their leash. While she’s not anywhere near insanity just yet, there are traces of madness inside her — showing in her wilder side, her unpredictability, and her obsession with death. It doesn’t help much that almost everyone surrounding her has some sort of alike mentality either, or that Voldemort encourages this side of her. Compared to the younger Bellatrix, she now has a lethal temper, one she barely has any control over, as well as an unhealthy adoration to the man she calls her master. After Andromeda’s betrayal, and earlier, that of Sirius, she is less likely to trust others, only keeping her closest circle as confidants, and barely ever letting anyone new even the slightest bit inside. She has a sense of superiority that is probably the most unhealthy of all, seeing herself above most others and acting on that notion as well — and whenever she sees fit, punishing those who defy that notion. Overall, she is not too far away from insanity, and in the end, it will be Azkaban that finally breaks through that dam and lets it all out.

Give us a headcanon for your character. Anything is acceptable. If the Dark Lord had not been the main occupant of her time, Bellatrix would’ve spend her time becoming an expert on Potions. She enjoys creating things — and it’s an excellent outlet for most of her problems, and has always shown talent in this area, the thought of brewing even things like liquid death egging her on to learn more, to try more. Even inside her house, she has a small potions lab set up, often testing whatever concoction she’s come up with now on a poor, unwilling subject.

Gardening when the London weather permits, sparking chaos in a kitchen after a long day of working, creating a big Sunday Roast for James and her friends, whoever stops by. Playing piano – a methodical being, her nimble fingers pour over the classics whenever she sees fit. Reading – missing academia, Lily pours over biographies, historical texts, and commentaries to keep her brain’s electric waves sparking ideas left and right. She reads aloud to her growing baby bump, and each time the unborn child kicks or moves, she yells to James down the hall that the little one is a big fan of the day’s topic. Driving a Muggle Car out in the countryside of England, over the mud pie winding roads through farms and prairies. She knows how to operate a car, despite her husband’s unyielding curiosity for Muggle machinery. Although she wasn’t a prankster in school, Lily has evolved into an amateur meddler, from placing James’s invisibility cloak over his glasses to tricking the Marauders – call it karma for those years of tomfoolery. She’s a collector, as well. She finds stories in antique items from Saturday markets, and convinces James these kitschy tea sets are necessary to bring into their tiny home, damn it!

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships? Lily and James are the constant symbol of sacrificial love in the series, tried and true. I do see her having a conflicting hatred / fondness for Severus – whether that could’ve been a romantic affliction way back when, despite their complicated history, as much as she loathes him he’s always stuck in the back of her mind - unable to pinpoint why she has any ounce of care left for him.

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why? Lily’s boggart has changed over the years. When practicing in school, she saw the terror of failure, and losing her family. But as she’s grown and evolved, and the weight of the world grew far more tangible, Lily now envisions her boggart as the death of those she could’ve been able to save. Her unborn child, James, her parents. Her parents. This was her nightmare, and after the murder of the Evans couple, she felt her dread, paranoia, sorrows escalate to a hovering beast she struggled to tame, and the beast knew it could conquer her if it dug deep enough into her fears.  

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve? Injustice. Blood snobbery. Lily is stubborn, herself, but she loathes when people are too shut down to listen to any idea other than their own (sometimes she can be quite hypocritical with this). Low blows.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character? She speaks a mile-a-minute when she’s flustered, or has an important thought. She’s too fearless, at times, when it comes to her Order Missions. She’s tough- relentless, even, quite pregnant and yet snapping at others if they don’t do their duty. She’s too passionate, especially lately seizing the day as the stakes continue to climb and rack her brain.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why? There were times when Lily was bullied for being too bookish. She’s proud of this attribute, however; the only subject she didn’t fully appreciate was Muggle Studies – she’d grown up around this subject, although she liked to see the wizarding world’s take on her world’s events. Her favourite subject was hard to pinpoint. From potion concocting to Transfiguration, Lily was in awe of the possibilities that magic provided. So be it, she was a nerd. And she loved every second of it.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year? Time of day: Early morning, when the fog hasn’t yet cleared, Lily walks around the small cobblestone streets of her village just to see the magic as the light greets the sleepy thatched roof buildings and the dewy grass. She greets the same old Saturday market vendors as they set up their stalls, she welcomes the day in a moment of calmness before she has to apparate into the gritty city streets, clustered and loud. Equally, she loves the evening, crammed into a pub with her loved ones, cozied up next to a log fire and playing a heated game of cards or dancing with the girls as the boys shove and laugh to the soundtrack of  the acoustic band playing in the corner. Time of year: Spring. Perhaps it’s due to her floral nature, but watching the blooming petals sprout up from the cool earth, going to parks, rowing down rivers, spending more time outdoors. Lily finds that the best things happen in spring. English people turn more social, she sees smiles in commuters. The world expands for possibility and adventure.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why? A doe. A female deer. Her happiest memory is of her wedding day, seeing the way James looked at her down the aisle, surrounded by friends, proud parents, even Dumbledore and McGonagall. Or, the moment she realised she fell in love with the one boy she never expected. Feeling her baby’s heart run wild against her stomach in the quiet of an evening, when the windows are sealed and the doors locked. Her happiest memories abound, it isn’t difficult for her to conjure her Patronus.

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)? Lily’s terrible at poker faces. If she’s annoyed or upset, amused in an inappropriate moment, it’s quite easy to see on her fair features. Sometimes, she dreams about revenge. For such a good, upstanding witch, wife, Auror, the more she thinks about the brutal wrongdoings, the more she feels like she could turn to aggression in a way she’s never supported before. This creates a dilemma for her psyche, for a girl who’s never believed in an eye for an eye.  

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations? Not nearly as extroverted as her husband, Lily finds herself happily in the middle. She’s an incredibly kind witch to nearly everyone she meets, but the more she’s seen with her career as the war escalates, the more she doesn’t feel the need to hand out unnecessary information about herself to strangers. However, she is witty, clever, full of banter when need be and not above using the power of language and persuasion to get what she needs.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food? Since the start of her pregnancy, Lily’s eating habits abound. She has no shame in ordering the oddest combinations, from midnight kebab pickle and ice cream cravings to pumpkin pasties for breakfast. The redhead appreciates farm-to-table cooking, and the Potters’ small but significant garden is home to tomatoes, potatoes, root vegetables, cabbage and more. Cooking calms her, especially without the use of a wand. Being able to sprout life from her fingertips and hard work in tune with the earth is rewarding to her – and so she indulges in her food when she can. She has a huge fondness for firewhiskey and red wine, and longs for the day when she can treat herself to a few glasses by her fireplace once Baby Potter is in the world.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point? Discovering she was a witch hit her like a lake of cold water. It started when she was young, and whenever she and her sister, Tuney, would play outdoors, a freak event would occur that would send Tuney running away. Her parents thought she could’ve been ill. Her grandmother thought she could’ve been possessed. But once she received her Hogwarts letter, and what seemed to be a legendary phenomenon turned into her reality, everything that Lily knew to be true had to turn upside down. Thrust into a hidden realm of possibility, Lily was forced at a young age to trust herself, trust Severus, and support the other underdogs of the universe. As she grew into adulthood, and as she continued to fight for the righteousness, the very idea that such a horror as Voldemort existed tested her. Targeting her kind. As more of her comrades and colleagues perished, disappeared, suffered, she had to diminish Voldemort’s powerful reputation into being a mere soul who she couldn’t fear. Not when she had so much to lose, and so much to gain in his demise. In the back of her mind, she’d spent years contemplating her value as not only a young woman, but a witch. When Severus turned on her, calling her that unforgivable name, she knew she had to turn into a vigilante alongside the other radicals who sought for a permanent change in prejudice. No turning back. If she had one goal, was to show other Muggleborns that they weren’t victims - they have been gifted with the opportunity to make their lives significant.

Give us a headcanon for your character. Anything is acceptable: Lily volunteers at her village shelter regularly, secretly charming blankets to be permanently warm for the homeless. She’s managed to know many of them, sharing stories, laughs, a hot meal. She’s already volunteered to sign up her child to help whenever they’re old enough. Even in school, Lily was incredibly involved in community services within the magical realm.

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys? Mary enjoys photography. She likes trying to capture moments in time, and feels like sometimes, if she catches people off guard, the camera can show her things she might have missed. She likes trying to take artistic photos too, and enjoys just walking around taking pictures. Mary also enjoys reading and writing, which both make her good at her job. Sometimes, she needs to sit down and write her thoughts and feelings out in order to feel better, and gain clarity.

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships? Chemistry mostly. I would like someone who can both challenge Mary but make her feel safe. Of course with some angst thrown in.

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why? Mary’s Boggart would be the people she cares about most dead. At the moment with her father being killed, this Boggart would take the form of her dead mother. Mary is terrified of losing those she cares about because of the pain she feels when they are gone.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve? Mary hates liars. She feels as though the world is complicated enough without people being honest. She knows that people don’t always tell the truth, but she hates when she doesn’t know who she can trust.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character? Mary likes to knit. But she doesn’t like to miss out on fun. So sometimes, she’ll take her knitting out with her. More often than not, though, Mary will just show up with a knit clothing item to give to someone she likest. It’s her way of showing she cares.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why? Mary liked Charms in school. She likes building on an object’s or creatures properties, and adding to them. She also likes the flexibility of Charms, and that with a little imagination, a lot can be accomplished. It’s not as rigid as Transfiguration or Potions.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year? Mary has a complicated relationship with times of day. She likes late at night and early morning for her writing, and for her solitude, but lately, she is finding it more difficult to be alone with her own thoughts. She used to like the afternoons and evenings because she was surrounded by people–and often would socialize with others after work. Now, she finds that all stressful because she wants so badly to be a part of the crowd, but feels separate because of her growing suspicious nature. Mary currently likes mornings because they are the start of a new day, and are generally busier. Mary enjoys summer time. She likes the sun shining on her face, warming her inside and out. She loves going around with her camera and capturing all the colours. She also feels like people are less stressed in summer, and more willing to relax which is great for a girl who loves fun. Mary doesn’t necessarily like extreme heat, but she seeks out sunshine.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why? Mary is currently struggling with producing a corporeal patronus after the death of her father. The shape it normally takes though, is a wolf. “The wolf is a bit of a darker and mysterious soul, with the strength of a fighter. A person with this patronus has had a lot happen in their life, and do to that they wear a mask over their emotions. They do, however, have a very big heart that is full of both passion and fire. What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)? Mary currently feels a sense of isolation, and despair, turning to numbness. As such, her biggest vices at the moment are that she’s drinking too much, and sometimes, when the feeling overwhelms her, she cuts herself. She knows that it is unhealthy, but thinks that she can control it and her compulsions. She ignores the fact that it would upset her friends and family to know she did this, and that she would be upset if anyone she cared about took it up, but she thinks she is in control. She needs to feel like she is.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations? Mary is an extrovert. She loves people and having fun. When out, she tries to ensure all of her friends are having a good time. If she sees someone off by themselves, she tries to engage them, remembering well how it was like to be bullied. She also knows the feeling of needing a little push to join in. She can be a little in your face sometimes, but she means well.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food? Mary is more of an on-the-go type of girl. She likes granola bars, apples, and trail mix because of their ease. She always has snacks in her purse. She rarely cooks, though she knows how, taught by her mother and grandmother. She does like trying out new recipes though, like carrot chips, or energy bars and the like. Because she likes to be constantly on the move, it’s easy for her to skip meals.  When she feels like it, she does meal prep days—though this mostly consists of cutting up various veggies and fruits. Mary likes smoothies.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point? Mary has definitely changed from who she used to be. The war has made her more distrustful than ever. It has also made her harder. She wants to fight and win for others—she’s not sure what will happen to her after all this is said and done. She is struggling with feeling withdrawn and isolated right now. She wants to recapture her zest for life, and her spark. She is trying hard to keep up a happy face. She feels at a loss and in need of regaining some measure of control, though. She has good days, but some days are harder than others. Mary is trying to accept that and just feel what she can, knowing it will pass.

Give us a headcanon for your character. Anything is acceptable. Mary has taken to putting charms into her knitting. She tries to infuse her love into them too, but she is experimenting with protective and tracking charms. She doesn’t know if it will work, but she wants to try at least.

Character Name: Minerva Mcgonagall

What’s a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys? In her youth, Minerva participated in several events and hobbies, including dueling and quidditch, but though she excelled in both, Quidditch was something she truly felt passion for. It initially began as something to blow off steam with her friends during her off hours, she was a sort of jack of all trades, being decent at nearly every position in the games they played between themselves, but her particular talent had been the Seeker. With her sharp, feline reflexes and her quick mind. But she never took it further than a hobby. That isn’t to say, however, that she stopped loving the game. Though she may no longer play it and though she never went professional or even officially tried out, she has a hell of a passion. Anyone that knows her, hell, anyone in the house of Gryffindor can tell you that when it comes to Quidditch, you’d be hard pressed to find a more vehement supporter.

Do you have any preferred ships or anti-ships? I ship Minerva with chemistry. That said I would love to delve into this part of her, her sensual side.. her emotional side when it comes to her heart and not her maternal instincts. She may be considered a spinster but she’s passionate and bold and though she never married there’s no way in hell she never had any other lovers. I’d love to see her in a predicament where the person she’s with/her lover is on the opposite side. Either the Ministry or even a Death Eater or Death Eater sympathizer and she doesn’t know it. Or even other scenarios

What do you think your character’s Boggart would be? If their greatest fear isn’t something that could easily take a solid form, what is it? Why? Minerva’s Boggart would be, without a doubt, the image of her rendered completely helpless. With no control over her actions, her emotions, her future. No control over helping those she feels responsible for. The terrifying aspect of being useless and out of control is Minerva’s biggest fear.

What’s your character’s biggest pet peeve? Without a doubt, Minerva’s biggest pet peeve is being ignored, not listened to, or not taken seriously. It’s something she has to deal with often when it comes to her students, and quite frankly, when it comes to some of the higher up men in the wizarding world. [Goddamn Patriarchy D: <]. But particularly with her students. Aside from the infuriating aspect of not being taken seriously, her line of work and her craft is something dangerous. Something that leaves little to no room for mistakes or changes, and it’s for the safety of her students that they need to pay attention, that they need to take her, and her craft seriously.

What would you consider to be an eccentricity of your character? Ok so one thing, not really a huge eccentricity, I feel like she’s just way on her way of being a cat lady x]. However, I feel that her control issues rear their ugly head when she’s under stress or duress. It’s the only way she tends to feel safe or in control of any situation, even if she clearly isn’t. So when stressed out, or upset, she tends to become overly controlling of her own surrounding or the surrounding and situations of others. While usually her collected and analytical mind tends to help those she’s offering advice to, the more stressed out or upset she becomes, the less logical her decisions and choices are.

What is/was your character’s favorite subject in school? Why? Minerva’s favorite subject was, without a doubt, Transfiguration. She and her parents learned from a young age that she had a particular ingrained talent for this particular form of magic. Shifting and transfiguring things from an incredibly young age. It was one of the first glimpses of the precise, scientific and mathematic mind Minerva would develop. Delving into such a dangerous and distinct subject at such a young age meant she had to hone her abilities and education. Taking classes that were considerably more advanced than most her age. Her avid interest in Transfiguration as she got older became something more when she decided to become an Animagus, and was a sole reason for pulling her attention from other subjects and hobbies. Now, as the recent Professor of the subject itself, she not only utilizes this talent in what she needs to do for the Order, but she spends her days teaching students and those in the Order about Transfigurations many dangers, intricacies, and benefits.

What time of day is your character’s favorite? What time of year? True to her alternate feline form, Minerva finds twilight, and evening to be the most invigorating. She gets her best work done at night, whether it’s in the solitude of her own home or working with others of the Order under the cover of darkness. As well as winter.

What’s your character’s Patronus? If they can’t conjure one, what would it be if they could? Why? Minerva’s Patronus is the same creature that she transforms into as an Animagus. The Maine Coone. This particular breed of feline is well known for it’s high intelligence, hunting skills and ability to defend itself, and loyalty to those it cares for. A large, fluffy feline with distinctive tabby markings.

What is your character’s biggest vice (bad habit or immoral craving)? Aside from the occasionally ‘strange’ craving she gets for a mixture of chocolate and salty foods [often fudge brownie mixed with some type of chip], she has a fondness for Single Malt Whiskey, and smoking. She is often seen lighting up a cigarette, and when incredibly stressed out, succumbs to a glass of whiskey. Not many have seen her drunk, but those close to her that have say it’s something they aren’t likely to soon forget.

Is your character an introvert or extrovert? How well do they handle social situations? Minerva seems to be somewhat in the middle. While she has little to no tolerance for fools, bigots, and ignorant people.. she is an incredible teacher. I feel that in her youth in particular, she was an extrovert. Participating in activities such as Quidditch, Dueling and even some extra curricular such as Ancient Studies. As she got older, she began to have far less interest in dealing with people that didn’t want to learn or listen. Currently, she’s more extroverted than introverted, at her prime in her teaching career as well as an incredibly active member of the Order. This, in particular, involves the ability to deal with several young.. intelligent and rebellious members. Often impulsive and naturally inclined to question everything. Something she accepts as par for the course, it takes a particular brand of person to be courageous enough, and strong enough to fight powers as strong as what is threatening to overcome them. She has every intention of doing her part in honing that strength and skill for good.

What is your character’s diet like? What’s his or her favorite food? Minerva doesn’t always have time or really the inclination to pay close attention to her diet or really focus on eating healthy. Her favorite food is Bangers and Mash, as she has a particular craving for salty, starchy foods when she gets stressed out or needs a comfort food. When it comes to sweets, she tends to enjoy white chocolate walnut bark.

How do you think your character’s psychological issues have manifested and changed your character up to this point? I feel Minerva’s need for control rears it’s ugly head when she is stressed, and under such pressure that she experiences as a part of The Order, it’s become more apparent with her habits such as smoking and drinking in particular. I’d like to see her have to cope with something that really pushes her to the brink on that level.

Minerva’s parents named her after the Roman goddess of of wisdom and strategic warfare.. and it seemed they knew she’d live up to that name. Minerva is well known as a fierce woman, a force to be reckoned with, and was one of the very first to join Albus when he founded the order. What many don’t know is that she is responsible for many of the strategies and plans that the Order carries out against their enemies. She often uses her Animagus abilities to get her hands dirty, and rarely settles for being simply behind the scenes.
