STROMAE IS FREAKING BRILLIANT.
Lemme explain why.
Ok. So this song is basically a modern take on Bizet's most renown aria "Habañera" from his classic opera "Carmen." Stromae plays on the metaphor of love being a bird by comparing it to Twitter throughout the first half of the song. He then plays on love being a Bohemian child (unable to be captured and not ruled by law) throughout the second half of the song in multiple ways. Here's a handy translation and explication of the song for those of you who don't speak French (http://genius.com/Rg-english-translations-stromae-carmen-english-translation-lyrics/). LIKE COME ON PEOPLE. THIS SONG IS SO FANTASTIC.
Moving on to his performance. The lighting is spectacular yet incredibly understated. The screen behind him doesn't distract the audience from him actually performing but he uses it to enhance his own movements. And hellooooooooo, HIS VOCALS ARE FLAWLESS. And those dance moves are killer. Just sayin.
Fierté. Amour. Joie.
