fun story time w/ Victoria
This is a story about the one who literally got away after a visit to a university in my home state.
I live in the midwest region of the US, and I was originally planning on going to school out west but then I looked at how much debt I would have and thought nawww.
So I set up visits for two of the three state schools in my home state (the third was too small and I don’t like the area as is, so I didn’t bother looking into it). I visited the first one, which is a Big Ten school, with my dad and loved it. Then the next week we went to the other one, and I had a friend of mine with me and my dad.
At that school there were only 3 kids in the session for my general major of interest; another girl and a guy. She wanted to do public relations, while he wanted to do sports broadcasting/reporting (I found it funny that the name of the county/school district he lived in was the name of my town even though we lived in different parts of the state). He seemed really sweet, as he was nice and had a sister who was disabled and he was very helpful with his family making things easier for her. Plus he was super cute and hella fine. I knew his name at that point, but I’ve forgotten now.
After that we went to the schools book store and I got a poster and a book (Ed Sheeran and Game of Thrones). He and his family were also there.
So apparently when myself and my friend were looking at books and posters he approached my dad and they talked. He wanted to know if I’d be going to this school, as he was since both his parents did. My dad said probably not, since we liked the other one a bit more. I can’t recall what else my dad said about him and what they talked about.
Apparently he also kept staring in the direction of my friend and myself. I thought he could have been just staring at my friend, but my dad said no, that he was way more interested in me when they talked and he could tell by how his gaze apparently followed my movements.
So we checked out, me and him sort of made eye contact once again, and then we left.
I was kind of sad I’d probably never see him again, as I’d basically made up my mind before that visit was over that I’d be going to the other school. It would have been nice to at least get his name down and maybe add him online or something, but sometimes it just ends up being like ships in the night.
I’ve not had a guy actually show interest in me since that day about ten months ago, nor with a guy as cute as he was. But things just happen sometimes, and you can’t really control that. Plus it would be stupid to go to one school over another just for a guy, no matter how attractive his face is.
Anyways, that is my story of the one who got away.
