shot for Punch Bowl Blog TV, at the iTunes festival on the 14th of July 2011 at the Roundhouse in Camden, London.
To be able to shoot in such conditions i went hand held without any external microphone. I usually carry my Rode mic but as this was pretty guerilla style and low key, i just took my Canon DSLR a 50mil and a view finder which helped a lot to keep steady shots and stay sharp focus.
I was expecting to get awful audio since i didn't use my mic, just the in board mic but surprisingly enough the audio was pretty acceptable which was a bit of a shock for me. the secret here was the Magic Lantern firmware hack which gives you more control over the audio such as turning Audio Gain Control off, and analog audio level controllers. if this was shot without this hacks, the audio would be distorted as the room was pretty loud. so Magic Lantern is worth the hassle!!
Shot on Cinestyle color profile, 25fps, 50 shutter speed, f1.4 ISO400/800
