I created these vector backdrops for a video game client this year. the scenes are based on sketches provided for the client. it was made clear that the final effect needed to emulate a gouache or watercolor backdrop. What was not made clear is at what size these backdrops would be used or printed.
To make a final product that could be used to anything, I used watercolor brushes in Adobe Illustrator to create vector backdrops that could be used at any size. These bad boys can be printed at 4″ wide or 40ft wide.
I always relish an assignment where I get to use my watercolor background and create compelling compositions this was such a fun assignment and I can’t wait for the next challenge to come along.
