hah. hah. no- no i won't laugh at you, comrade, it's a fair question for a newcomer. but you miss the clear material conditions at play. you see, we, the people, have no power to be anywhere near the lever in the first place. the tyrants at typhon genetics are the ones who make these decisions, and rather than choose inaction or harm reduction, they choose violence. they choose profit! they pull the lever, but to direct the trolley at the masses for their own numbers! and it is up to us, to our collective, to take down their system to have our own isper hands on the lever ourselves, and choose peace and unity as we once thrived in before their arrival. yes! we must rise up! join me, comrade, in changing our conditions, and taking that power back from them, by whatever means necessary! for peace!!

Birthday..? I appreciate the gesture, but you are gravely mistaken. Today is actually a day of annual celebration for my people.

Generations and generations ago, in the early days of the bear clan, we had earned the favor of a strange woman. It's of common belief that she was an elder of the forests. As a kindness, she blessed our people with the great and immense gift of understanding the various purposes of the vegetation that grew all around us. The bear clan had always been protectors, but we also became gifted medicinal healers with this knowledge. To care for the people, the life around us, that was always our primary purpose, and with this blessing we were able to do just that.

[He reaches for his satchel, beginning to rummage through it as he continues] The wisest and most skilled of us would develop a special connection with our home. And with it came the greatest gift of all for our clan. [His expression lights up as he stops rummaging and a fist pulls out of it, opening to reveal a few healthy seeds] magia salvaje. He wears a soft, fond smile as this happens.] It isn't clear whether or not this power has always been within us, or a direct extension of her kindness, but regardless, we are forever thankful that her guiding hand led us to this discovery.

We all feast and dance in celebration every year on this day, praising the elder and counting our various blessings in harvest, community, and growth throughout the year.
