OC Ask Game

Context: I haven’t mentioned Fefe here before, but his full name is Felix Enoteca Silva (suggested by @f-oighear; Vanessa wasn’t attached to her last name, but Nozel insisted they retain a part of her in their children’s names, too). He’s a next gen OC, Nozel and Vanessa’s second child and the baby of the family. His hair is wavy and pink and looks like cotton candy. His older sister Evanna (Evie) was the one who started calling him Fefe, and it never stopped. He wished it would XD

Also, my answers will revolve around him as a child, because I haven’t imagined him much as an adult yet. But I’m sure he’ll grow up to be a very lovable guy.

🎀 — Tell me a fact about them

I feel like you know most of the facts about Fefe already, ‘cause I spoke about him in our chats, so this will be a tough one. Hmm. Let me find one that I (hopefully) haven’t mentioned.

Fefe inherited Vanessa’s musical talents, and he could never just walk down the halls quietly. When he was little, he’d just be roaming the halls with Sir Stuffy (his stuffed animal pigeon; yes, it has been knighted lol), singing whatever came to mind. 

🛏️ — How they act when they’re tired

Fefe will insist that he is not tired, and keep trying to do whatever he was doing. There are not enough hours in his day to make new friends or mingle with existing ones. (If his friends aren’t around, he bugs the servants at Silva Castle. He says they're his friends too.) It usually ends with him falling asleep right on the spot. 

💋 — How they show affection

Fefe is very extroverted and doesn’t like to be alone, ever. He’s about 99% Vanessa (the 1% of Nozel Silva he has is his mercury magic… and how terribly awkward he is around someone he’s dating, once he’s older). So if he likes someone, he will follow them around. If that someone is out of his sight, he will seek them out.

He has a habit of climbing into the open window of Nozel’s office from the outside to say hi to him when he’s working, because he hasn’t seen his papa in all of one hour and he misses him. Someday, he will learn the concept of personal space, but today is not that day.

Hmm, I was tempted to do another BC headcanon, but I feel like we've shared most of our headcanons through chat already, so... I'll share a silly fic idea that's been brewing (first as a joke, and now semi-seriously) since 2022. I suppose this fic idea also started as a headcanon, but it's one I never shared with you.

Here's the idea: Nacht has a special shampoo he uses to make his hair slick and shiny. It's strawberry-scented, and probably custom-ordered from a witch and packed in an elegant bottle. He keeps a bottle of it in the Black Bulls Base, except he was never home during the early arcs of canon, and during that time, the Bulls found the bottle of shampoo in their shared bath, and they couldn't figure out whose it was. But it smelled heavenly. So any time one of them had a special occasion to get ready for, they'd use that to wash their hair. And since they didn't know whose it was, they used it very sparingly, because they would hate for it to run out.

AND THEN. Nozel starts dating Vanessa in secret, which entails sneaking into the Black Bulls bath for a quick freshen-up when he uh, spent the night. (Nozel did it very early in the morning, though, to make sure no one caught him.) He also saw the elegant bottle of shampoo and used it, because he's royalty and that appears to be the best product (it was also not labeled with anyone's name, so he assumed it was shared). The Noble Realm went RAMPANT with speculations after Lord Nozel showed up at a gathering later that day, smelling like strawberries. Who is his secret lover?

Someone, perhaps a Silver Eagle, who mingles around all parts of the kingdom (it might be @f-oighear's beloved OC Philip Hughes) remarks that they once picked up the same scent from Gordon, and it all goes downhill from there. *Mad cackles.*

🌼 What’s the last thing you said out loud?

(I'm assuming it's this question, but the emojis are slightly different somehow. Mimosa must have worked her magic! Anyway.) This is actually hard to remember! I live alone and I work remotely, and we don't normally have meetings on Fridays, so it might've been a while since I'd spoken out loud. But I believe I blurted out "what the fuck" after I woke up from my nap this afternoon, because I intended to nap for an hour or maybe two, but I ended up sleeping for four.

🦉 Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I'm actually not 100% sure! I say "night owl" because that's what my sleep schedule veers into when I'm on vacation, but I think that might be more due to the fact that I have ADHD, and it always takes longer after I wake up for my brain to click into gear. It also means I have a harder time getting my shit together to get into bed at a reasonable hour, so that pushes back my wake-up time. On weekends, I notice myself waking up around 8AM, though, even if I go back to sleep again after that, so maybe I'm naturally supposed to be somewhere in the middle.

🧸 Favorite place to nap?

My usual bed. But I do also have a smaller bed in my living room that functions as a couch-substitute (or a spare bed for overnight guests), so that's my secondary nap location if I ever need one.

🧡 A color you can’t stand?

I'd say orange. I don't think there's a color I avoid 100% of the time, but I own the least amount of things in orange. Fashion-wise, there is no shade of orange that works for me. And for objects, I tend to pick other color options unless they only come in orange.

🎤 Is there a song you know all the lyrics to?

It's been years since I full-on memorized any lyrics, but I think I remember all the lyrics to my favorite songs from the RWBY soundtrack, like This Life is Mine, or Red Like Roses. Or Nevermore.

Ask Game for someone’s OC(s)

✨: How did you come up with the OC’s name?

For Talia, I’ll copy the explanation I had in her profile: Talia and Asta both share parts of Licita’s name. So does Liebe! I like to think that Licita wanted to give her children a part of herself, and she had a boy’s name and a girl’s name in mind for her baby. Then when Liebe came into her life, she thought of a new name for him instead of reusing “Asta” (the name she never got to use in this universe because she had a baby girl). “Talia” begins with the last two letters (T and A) of her mother’s name, while “Asta” ends with those last two letters. 

For Nephele, I looked up names that are cloud-related in Behindthename.com, because I already decided she’d have cloud magic. And Nephele sounded the most like her :)

🍕: What is their favorite food?

Talia: “I used to have tatoes all the time back home and Sister Lily’s the best and her cooking’s always awesome even when it’s tatoes all the time or bread or salads so I thought I loved tatoes the most but then I tried barbecue in Nean and then Lady Mereo brought us across the Common Realm to get to the the Entrance Exam and made us try a bunch of stuff SO NOW I CAN’T DECIDE!”

Nephele, meanwhile, likes fizzy drinks and cotton candy. The former because they taste more fun than regular beverages, and the latter because they’re soft and cute and vibe well with her magic.

🧊(for Nephele): Is their current design the first one?

Not exactly. I played around several picrews until I landed on this one, which fit her best. But I always knew she’d be dark-skinned (since she was adopted from Sheherazade) and her hair would be seen as cloud-like by Talia. It was more the hair and eye colors that took a while. (Here’s Nephele’s appearance, for reference!)

🍀(for Talia): What originally inspired the OC?

The idea of Talia started because of the musing I had about her name, like how “Licita always gives a part of herself to her children, name-wise, so maybe if she had a girl, she’d have gone with Talia!”. And then, I was rambling to @f-oighear about how things would unfold if Asta were a girl. And the more I rambled, the more I realized the potential for a full-on divergence. That was when Talia became a fully-fledged little loudmouth.

As for Nephele, I wanted someone who worked at the Crimson Lion base (because unlike the Bulls, the CL are not in debt and can actually hire staff, lol) who could be a friend when half the squad was still unsure about her. So I thought a big sister figure (but someone who was still young enough to be her friend) would help, and someone whose personality could balance hers out. And thus, I ended up with a very Yuno-like lady.

🍥: What age were you when you created the OC?

Both of them came to me around mid-2024, before my December birthday, so I was 27.

🥊: What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?

Talia loves “bear hugs and climbing trees” (copied from her profile). She hates sitting down for too long (e.g. listening to lectures and long sermons) because she’s the human embodiment of a puppy and she can't stay still. And she can’t deal with too much thinking. *Brain overheats.*

Nephele loves “sewing and rainy days” (copied from her mini-profile at the end of SC chapter 12). She works best when she's alone, so she hates team sports. But she’s very physically fit, so she excels at individual ones (especially fencing).
