can we see your plant jurassic park when it’s done? I love it already
short answer: yeah ill prob post it or smth if it gets finished. in a perfect world it would be a book but I’ve tried writing books before and i’ve never followed through with it so i won’t promise anything there. shooting for a book but if not, its not
long answer: ok i started developing this because i recently packed up and left the fandom i had been writing for for the past 5 years. i realized that i was super stressed about it all the time; i was afraid of what people would think of it, concerned about the rating and reviews of my works, and so submissive to the likes and dislikes of others that although i loved it unconditionally, i didn’t enjoy writing anymore. this thing is the first thing i’ll have written since i started writing when i was 10 that is completely, 100% original; not a fan-work. the feeling is incredibly freeing. i became calmer irl when i retired as a content producer; i never realized what amount of my anxiety was generated by fandom content.
someone brought up to me recently in chat that writing should be for you, and only you. they said that you should write whatever the hell you want to write; if even one person enjoys it, it was worth writing, and that one person can totally be you. i’m working towards being able to write my own original content and be confident with it; before now i was so reliant on others to keep telling me that what i was writing was good that i was terrified they would reject me. that isn’t important. what i want to be important is for me not to reject myself.
so as for the thingy or whatever; for right now its about a group of botanists saving the midwest from being devoured by carnivorous seed corn, because fuck it why not lmao. will it stay that way???? will the plot change when i start writing down what ive been developing??? maybe. i dont have it figured out and it doesnt need to be figured out. ultimately no one needs to like it but me.
(side note: it’s called “villosa”. i have an aesthetic tag for it on my personal blog here, bc im an Artsy Aesthetic Teen™)
