vintageborn replied to your quote “Plainly, it doesn’t require great sacrifice to carry the Christian...”
That title alone is SO on point.
Isn’t it, though? It reminded me a lot of C.S. Lewis’ quote concerning religion making one “happy.” Which goes hand-in-hand with what you said concerning Tumblr Christians, or really most young(ish) Christians these days (at least that I’ve found) who are more like fans rather than actual followers. They all would rather pick out the parts of the Bible that make them feel good, that make them appear to be the followers of the cool, loving, lackadaisical, “hipster Jesus”, rather than the One who actually said some pretty hard-to-hear things, such as Matthew 16:24 and John 8:11.
27, 37, 45, 57 😊
27. what is the best decision you’ve made in your life so far?Probably moving away from home and going to school!
37. favorite flower?I am a sucker for red roses, but I also love magnolias and lilies.
45. which celebrity do people say you look the most like?I’ve heard I look like Shenae Grimes quite a few times!
57. favorite album of 2018?Ohhh, that’s tough. Probably Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour!
Thank you!!! :D
Baby’s Breath, Calla, Lily 🌷
baby’s breath : what did you want to be when you were a kid ?I actually wanted to be an elementary school teacher when I was a kid!
calla : what’s your favorite book ?Ohh, this is a toughie. I’m going to have to say Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, it’s just a classic.
lily : what’s something you’ve achieved that you’re really proud of ?Probably just surviving this past semester is something I’m really proud of haha
Thank you!!
3, 29, 40 😊
3. If you could learn a new skill, what would it be?I’d love to learn how to paint, especially watercolors or acrylic. I tried a go at it earlier in the year but failed miserably haha.
29. Do you like reading? What was the last thing you read?Yes, I love to read! The last thing I read was Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
40. If you had to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it?Ohh, that’s a toughie. I know it’d be a piece of Scripture and probably on my ribs or hip. Probably Psalm 42:1, Jeremiah 20:11, or James 4:6′s “But He gives more grace”. My inability to narrow it down is the reason I’ll probably never get one lol.
Thank you!!!
mango 🥭 grape 🍇 kiwi 🥝
mango: what is your trademark?
I hope my trademark is kindness, at least that’s what my goal is haha
grape: if you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Oh golly, there are so many places I’d like to go. Either Israel or just a giant roadtrip out west to see some of the National Parks. Also Greece. (honestly anywhere that has any historical significance and/or natural beauty, I’ll want to vacation there haha)
kiwi: what’s something that fascinates you?
History, especially American history. It will always intrigue me.
Thank you!!
