Etymology : From the word viridi, the Latin word for green which is a color often associated with male homosexuality.[1] The Latin root vir also means ‘male’.[2] The suffix -ac means “pertaining to” specifically in relation to the heart in medical terminology.[3]

Disclaimer : By including the suffix “-ac” in this term we are not implying in anyway that homosexuality is a medical issue. We chose the suffix specifically for the meaning “pertaining to [the heart]” to enunciate a deeper meaning of the overall term which is gay men or men-aligned people who are attracted to other gay men or men-aligned people as attraction is generally felt with the heart.

Flag Meaning : A black to green gradient to represent a very literal visual translation of the term. A hyacinth flower is featured in the second version of the flag and represents Hyacinth who, in Greek mythology, was the lover of Apollo.[4]

This term was mostly made for one of our Edward Nygma/Riddler introjects because while he identified with the general definition that is shared among many mlm/mlnb terms, none of those terms actually “felt” right. He also wanted something centered around the color green, as a Edward Nygma/Riddler introject usually wants (at least ours do).
