Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!!!

Leaf had been afraid to move Green, thinking she might dislocate something had he fallen down from somewhere. What could have happened!? Last time she saw him he was moving on to the next town, ahead of her as usual, now Green was knocked out on the path.

How long has he been here?

Leaf quickly shoved that thought aside in fear of the answer. She had to act now.

Her hopes grew seeing her rival’s eyes open but it dwindled away as soon as it came when the boy’s eyes fell shut again and he produced a pained whine.

“Alright, Leaf. Snap out of it. You got this; you have to.” she muttered to herself.

The trainer quickly threw out her butterfree. “Gracie, fly up and see how far the next town is. I have to know whether to turn back or not.” she instructed, the bug pokemon nodding and ascending.

As carefully as she could, Leaf lifted Green onto her back and adjusted him. Soon enough the girl’s pokemon returned and flew ahead indicating they were near the next town.

“Alright,” she took a breath. “you better not go out on me Green. I s-swear to Arceus I’ll bring you back myself and kick your ass.” Leaf whispered, voice straining as tears threatened to roll down her cheeks.

The brunette began jogging to the next town with Green upon her back and her butterfree leading the way.

“How could you tell?” she teased, sticking her tongue out at him. “I’ve only ever lived in mainland Sinnoh. Ever heard of Hearthome?”

Skylar turned and leaned against the railing. “But this place is gorgeous. What’s your name, by the way?”

There was a feeling of nostalgia when Giovanni looked up at the old Gym where he used to live. No matter how many times he came to the building, it always felt like it had been too long since he had last been there. But he didn’t have any reason to be here anymore. He told himself that he had other things to do. Other reasons to be in town, but he had a hard time tearing his eyes away from his old home.

It was only when he noticed the eyes of the present Viridian City Gym Leader looking back at him did he manage to look away. He looked at the ground, ashamed for a moment before looking back up to Green. “What an honor it is to be graced by the presence of the Viridian City Gym Leader,” he said, sarcasm clear in his voice. “Don’t worry. I’m not here to try anything. I just thought I’d see the old place on the way to the store.” With that, he started to walk away, waving a dismissive hand.

The pats did nothing to calm the mouse pokemon as he squirmed out of Green's hands to stand on his arms.

Pikapika!!! Pikachu pika!!" He raambled, pointing to the forest.

The pokemon attempted to form an 'R' like Rocket grunts do before puffing up his chest as if he were a brute and began punching the air before reanacting Red and falling over off of Green's arms and onto his back.

Really it looked like some confusing game of charades before Green told Pikacvhu to take him to Red.

The electric type raced into the bushes once again, zipping to where he had left Red and the thug...

00:00:00 (uhm hello yes soulmate au??? in our pokemon verse??)

In a universe where everyone is born with numbers on their wrists counting down to when they’ll meet their soulmate, send me 00:00:00 for my muses reaction to their numbers hitting zero when they meet yours.

Becoming a Pokemon ‘master’ wasn’t something Lance aspired to be. Not initially, anyway. He had tagged along with Pidge from their small town in Alola after she had set out to the Kanto region, attempting to find her family after they had disappeared while on the trail of a new Pokemon sighting. He couldn’t just let his pseudo younger sister go roaming a new region by herself at just 16. 

Even if he was convinced his soulmate was somewhere in Alola, he had plenty of time to go there and back. It would just be a quick trip!

Besides, he wouldn’t even trust himself at 20 to go alone. Much less a young and impressionable gremlin-- er, girl. Granted, Pidge had years on him in terms of maturity, she kept reminding him. 

Regardless, after arriving and running into some entitled hot head named Keith, and through a series of unfortunate events, proclaiming himself as his rival. He’d definitely be the first one to reach the Kanto pokemon league champion, and from there, the sky was the limit when it came to him and his team. 

Most thoughts of his soulmate, convinced they were back on Alola despite the diminishing numbers, were pushed to the back of his head as he pushed himself and his team to work harder-- be better. No matter how much he had romanticized the idea of soulmates as a child, occasionally there were more important things. Like wiping that smirk off of Keith’s face when he faced HIM as Kanto champion.

After months of hard work, Lance had finally reached the 8th gym of the Kanto region. Back to Viridian city. He’d tried to challenge the leader, some Green dude, the last time he had come through town but had been turned away at the door due to his mere 3 badge accomplishment.

Well he’d show that ‘Green’ guy this time. 

Marching up to the Viridian city gym, Lance pushed his way through the door with purpose. Already pulling out a pokeball from his bag, it’s not until he notices the numbers on his wrist counting down the milliseconds to 00:00:00, as he looked up to see Green straight ahead.

“An avalanche,” she replied: short and succinct. 

Her gaze flickered from their surroundings and then back towards him. On second thought, perhaps it would be best to keep him talking to ensure he was awake --- if only he could ramble on his own, without her prompting. 

“We were nearly swept away if I hadn’t acted in time.”

Sabrina straightened, glancing out at the entrance of the cave. It was covered in snow, the tunnel she’d made was slowly beginning to collapse on itself. She clicked her tongue at the sight.

“What are you doing here in Mt. Silver anyways?”
