the first couple of weeks at skku has always been exciting for most and foreboding for freshmen. and as days go by and tables and chairs are being set up in the courtyard, excitement begins to climb for the much anticipated WELCOME WEEK—where freshmen make themselves known to the rest of the university and upperclassmen relish in a bit of school spirit and fun before schoolwork really starts to pile up.
skku’s welcome week, especially, is a spectacle to behold. with the university’s many clubs taking to setting up their own tables for new recruits, there will also be sponsored food stands and the occasional game here and there thrown into the mix. students are highly encouraged to attend for the sake of getting to know their peers and, in the long scheme of things, making useful connections for the years to come. and for those who have yet to find their footing in skku, this is the perfect chance to get properly situated amongst the student body.
OUT OF CHARACTER DETAILS, and here it is: our first task (slash event)!
this event will be held mainly on the dashboard, with options to rapid-fire thread on the discord server.
the in-character date for this event is september 6 - september 10, 2021, the first full week of classes after syllabus week.

TASK ONE (001),
our first task revolves around our pledges getting a sneak peek into what it’s like being an initiate virtue; during the initiates’ third year of university, they spend the whole year monitoring any potential candidates for next year’s pledge class and providing reports to any virtues in the society interested.
in fact, there’s a certain first-year student that the society currently has their eyes on, and for this first task, it’s up to the pledges to figure out exactly who that is.
therefore, all our pledges must provide a report about this first-year student they (should hopefully) notice during welcome week and why they think this student should/would be a good candidate for next year’s pledge class.
○ the winning condition for this event is that each pledge must choose one (1) word from this LIST OF KEYWORDS to incorporate into their report.
○ one of the four (4) words per each lineage is the “winning word”; please be sure to message the MAIN with your choice of word by october 10, 2021 at 11:59pm est.
○ and yes, there is a possibility for both pledges in a lineage to lose!
but, we of course can’t forget about our virtues! at the same time, all of our virtues must provide their own report about one of the pledges in their own lineage; these reports will be handed in to the current cardinals.
please be sure to have your report (in the form of solo) posted by october 17, 2021 at 11:59pm est—or you run the risk of being assigned a lovely punishment!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS,
think of welcome week as a smaller-scale school festival! there’s a club expo, plenty of school spirit to go around, and a concert held on the last day of the week for any and all creative clubs to showcase their talents (and recruit new members)!
like always, pledges and virtues should NOT be interacting in public with each other, but of course, it’s only natural for the best of the best to gravitate towards one another.
please be sure to be inclusive and reply to as many starters as possible, regardless if you’ve plotted already or not.

a letter so painstakingly written finds it way into your hand; an emblem stamped in gold encloses such precarious contents inside, and as you open the envelope, a greeting is read. dear student, you have been cordially invited to the virtue society, it welcomes before discussing date, time, and attire. come as your best dressed, and prepare to impress.
platinum cufflinks and red-bottomed heels meet at a restaurant, hidden away in the perimeter of seoul—discreet yet still decadent, and before you’re caught marveling at the sights for too long, dinner is served. a five-course meal of grandeur and grandiosity reels you in, and by the time dessert finishes, you’re starting to wonder if this is it.
suddenly, your vision goes black—silk touches skin, and a whisper can be heard: do you wish to test your limits? agreements can be heard in a ripple—the soft-spoken ‘i do’ and the rustle of the silent head nod. you’re led away, and your other senses guide you: the hum of an engine, the squeak of leather. it’s a short ride, but oh, this night got even longer.
upon arrival, you’re escorted inside—where, you’re not sure—but you can hear the echos and smell the marble. there’s a voice, loud and proud, that catches your attention: do you accept your invitation into the virtue society? anyone who doesn’t may leave, but of course, no one does. not when they’ve intrigued you this much.
a chorus of ‘yes’s follow the question, and your blindfold finally comes off. then, you’re met with seven smirking faces, and thirteen others—some confused, some content—beside you. pen and paper are shoved into your hand, and before you can even ask what it is, your signature in black ink and red fingerprint seal your fate away.
congratulations, they say, and welcome to the virtue society.
OUT OF CHARACTER DETAILS, welcome to the first event of virtuehq! the option to start the roleplay *before* insoo’s disappearance won by a landslide in our opening poll, and we only saw it fitting to open at the literal beginning.
this event will be held mainly on the dashboard, but any members playing virtues may also roleplay this event out in the appropriate group chat on discord.
the in-character date for this event is august 29, 2021, the day before the first day of the fall semester.

members are allowed to write about any moment during this night: the pledges’ dinner, the virtues’ preparing for the big announcement, the grand reveal, etc. after the dinner, it’s understood that the ballroom shifts into a more casual college party.
the (initiate) virtues are aware of why most of the pledges were nominated because of the nomination process, but that doesn’t mean they know everything about them, so please make sure your muse isn’t assuming they know everything about anyone!
