ok yes I am going to finish and post an animation today BUT I need the world to know that despite wearing a mask to give the facade of productivity underneath I actually have started 3 more animatics and 1 fully colored shaded and planned *animation* to a song as well so.. there’s your reality check.

so, back in 2006, there was once an official flash music video for a song called "virus alert" (as comedy songs from the 2000s are wont to do). but, it also got a tie-in flash game now somewhat lost to time. i'll get into why later, but first...the plot!

I got the game to play with it a little, and so can you by going here! you play as weird al, who took it upon himself (read: been hired) to rid company-tech of living computer viruses and climb up the corporate ladder. how do you delete viruses (and also fix computers)? by throwing discs at 'em, of course! and that's all there is to it.

so, with that out of the way, why is this considered lost media? well, the game you download from the site is just a demo, and you need an activation code to get the whole game. ...and the only way to get an activation code (until recently) was to pay left brain games for one, which you can't really do anymore for obvious reasons. but not all hope was lost!

around (as of the time i'm making this post) six months ago, eientei found a working code and posted it to the shockwave discord, which was then posted to the comment section of a reddit post looking for the full game by u/Paulocas2009. alas, there's still barely any footage of the gameplay (most of which is for the demo), which is why i still call it "somewhat lost to time".
