As part of my submission, I have been asked to produce a creative CV. The above is one that I produced one afternoon on the sun terrace in Thailand.

Overview
This week has been vital for me to get the production of my publication started. I spent Monday in the print room creating a cover and a few other elements. I then spent Tuesday and Wednesday experimenting with the Risograph printer to create images that had more depth. I also photographed my concrete experiments which I have blogged about and shown a few examples of the outcomes of this.
Today I printed and cut to size the pages for the publication. I want to add three more pages to round off and clarify the content.
I will then photograph the final outcome and add this along with my Chula project to my Behance page. To follow I want to make final amendments to my CV and add this to my submission.
My final task will be to write a 1,000 word reflective report about the module.

Progress
Over the weekend I have managed to produce two batches of impressions using concrete. Im pleased with what I have produced so far and I hope to get a third batch produced which will give me enough to work with.
I have also ordered scaled miniature people in white to add context and scale to my work when I photograph them.
TUESDAY.
As part of my brief I have been asked to present a short presentation about my area of practice and where I would like to be after my time at university. I have contacted a few people who are in the field of work I am interested in but no one has got back to me. Infant I know more about my field because of Brian Shepherd, a tutor who was really helpful in my last module. I asked him about the industry in person so that will be used as part of my presentation.
I now need to reader the requirements of the presentation and adapt it to my working area.

Casting
After my tutorial on Wednesday, I got the idea of casting objects and surfaces using concrete. Like the city of Bangkok, you are surrounded by concrete on a daily basis however it seemed to be a material that obtruded your vision when I was in BKK.
The above image shows my first batch of moulds and impressions I have produced. Even though one of my moulds broke (shown above) I will still be using it as a representation of the harshness of the material.
Im still unsure what the images I will be producing will show or even mean but then again I never knew how I felt as I explored the city with these structures towering over me.

Dissertation Ideas Generation
Whilst I have been away in Thailand, the rest of my class have been asked to begin their dissertation proposal. This includes a rough idea as to what question they will set themselves, what type of research they will be conducting and a list of initial references from relevant books that they can use as a starting point.
Ive been thinking of what I want to write about over the last few weeks. I haven't got a definite direction yet I love print making but I also love the advertising industry which has given me the idea of combining the two thus encouraging me to begin looking at how printmaking was used to create early advertising touch points - technology has changed and so has our methods of production. Printmaking and hand produced works have stalled whilst the digital age took over.
I do however believe Print is still alive and more and more creatives are wanting to resurrect the skill.
I feel this would be an interesting topic to research, discuss and answer.
I will brain storm further and take my ideas forward to my meeting with Ally on Wednesday to hopefully hone in on this direction and come up with a savvy question for me to answer.

I wanted to experiment with a few other things as well - If these don't work out then I can adapt my methods of production.
The cement I have used is a quick drying type so I should be able to see if my initial casts have worked or not. I want to have all my casts produced by the end of the weekend so that i can plan what I will do with them.

The above image shows the first casting that I did. Your probably thinking why I have chosen Ice Cubes? Well Thailand is extremely warm this time of year - initially we were told not to have drinks with them in but we saw many tourists with ice in their drinks so it must be safe.
Ice cubes kept not only our drinks cool but also us cool. It was refreshing, almost cleansing as it flushed away any pollutant particles that began to collect within my mouth.
Initially I used actual concrete but found it to be too course and would only give a smooth finish on a large surface area. As I was only using it on a small scale my Dad recommend I used cement.
The colour should lighten to a cool grey rather than the sludgy brown it it currently.

Let the Experimentation Begin.
I have chosen to create casts of the following:
Noodle tub
Bowl
Cup
Water Bottle
Ice Cube
Chop Sticks
Thin sheets to represent paper money
Impressions of the surface of a hard drive
The above image shows my “LAB” where today I decided to experiment to see if the idea works.
