Filipino Visayan Music Industry
Artists are great storytellers! They are part of everybody's childhood and give magic to a child's imagination. From the cartoons that we watched onscreen, to a singer's performance that we witnessed and left the audience in awe! These are a few to mention. For this platform, we promote various artists from the Visayas. Here, we will feature different genres of music from Visayan pop artists. The Visayan music scene is one that is bustling and thriving within the region. Just like any other music scene, it features many contemporary genres such as Visayan pop, Visayan rock, Visayan jazz, Visayan blues, and even traditional genres such as Visayan choral music or Visayan folk music. A lot of Visayan artists and musicians participate in this music scene—both legendary and up-and-coming musicians equally contribute to its growth. The Visayan music scene is also a safe space for local Visayan bands, artists and musicians to freely express themselves through music. Locally based aspiring musicians can take inspiration from the industry pioneers and apply it into their own songwriting. It also serves as a community for Visayan musicians to gather and share their own works for the public to enjoy. The Visayan music scene, however, mostly remains within the region. Artists and musicians with world-class talents and skills should not remain undiscovered; they should be showcased to the Philippines and to the world.
