Francesco was in a daze. His expression was soured by a seriousness that rarely fell upon him, but what else did the tragic situation call for? He had just learned of the specifics of the tragedy, the casualties ensued, and of the many more injured. There were already many who came to aid the injured (what little Francesco knew of healing; he would be more burden than help in that field), it seemed wrong to remain rested in the Castelgrande while others suffered and there was much to be done, even if he had little idea what it was that could be done by him. A figure approached from the distance, and for one moment the bright smile returned, before falling as he remembered one of the casualties named. “Infanta Vitoria,” he greeted, clasping her hand between his in an attempt to bring comfort through touch. “I wish you my sincerest condolences. How are you — how are your siblings? Antonio, is he safe?”
