Mermaids used to be one of my favorite things to draw for a while, so I really wanted to do something for Mermay!

I might make more of these, tried to go pretty lose (and left the sketch layer visible)

I caught wind of a trend to show your commander as other races, and since i've already dabbled in human (and a little sylvari) flop I thought it would be fun to do.

Below is some more details about how I came up with each one / the character differences they'd come with.

Charr - Based her main colors/patterns after a Jaguar. I kinda see this version of her originally being from the flame legion or something and then fleeing only to struggle in the citadel.

Norn - A follower of wolf, this version is less afraid to show her scars because A. I think norn get hot more easily being acclimated to cold climates, and B. a norn version of her would probably see scars less as "look at all the mistakes I made that got me hurt" and more "check out how many near-death experiences I've survived"

Human - Closest to asura floppy since they both grew up in human culture, not much to day here..

Sylvari - Honestly no idea how her story would go since sylvari flop would be so different, mostly in the fact that the oldest sylvari are like 34 and flop is 50. Her look is based on a mix of plants, her base is a bald cypress plant, with lichen mimicking her vitiligo, and then I put trumpet flowers in her hair for color and cute.

In an uno reverse for the ask meme, hands Floppy a Qirri to judge! (@ratasum)

Ok I’m gonna be honest, while she tries not to draw the connection Qirri 100% makes Floppy think of her own daughter. A sickly progeny who can talk her ear off about innovative ideas for golems and mechs and aids and shit, alchemy that is so much like how Aerri was. 

She would do her best not to coddle (she likes giving kids freedom), but she would be pretty concerned for Qirri’s health and making sure she’s taking care of herself (at least a little). 

Honestly Floppy wasn’t the best college student (and doesn’t remember all that much from those days anyway), but she would be more than willing to listen to Qirri talk on and on about dynamics related things.

Also she would find Qirri and Taimi’s relationship really cute and be super supportive of it, though I feel like she would double crack down if they were enabling each other to focus too much on science and not enough on their health. She’d see them both working too hard on a jade tech project and make them go outside to like a garden or somewhere to eat a meal.

Gotta know Floppy's opinion on Phlunt.

She fucking HATES that bitch, actually she hates most of the arcane council. 

Their valuing of ‘knowledge and innovation’ over things like…Ethics and you know NOT KILLING OR TORTURING PEOPLE. 

The council (and most definitely Phlunt) were the receivers of many pranks in her college days, and while she has to tone herself down a lot more (she was holding back so hard when he was stealing Taimi’s research), she does her best to use her power and influence as commander to stop them from some of the awful stuff they do.

The last question in this ask has now started living rent free in my brain so....

POV: You're stuck in a swamp when this guy comes to rescue you. How do you deal with the fact that his drake's new brood isn't the only thing that needs to hatch?

Oh now this is a strange one, it took a bit of brain storming to figure out if there was even a way for this to happen since most of their possible interactions Flops would be going through it and Faolain would be uhh...evil. One scenario did manage to pop into my mind though.

It's 1304 AE, a bunch of secondborn had just been captured and Caithe and Faolain are on the way to rescue them. When trying to find a way to enter the facility, they see a tired college intern who was sent to deliver a supplies shipment (someone just shoved the responsibility on her) and get her at knife-point.

She doesn't need to be at knife-point for long though because as soon as she finds out a bunch of sentient plant people are being experimented on in there she's ready to help.

With the combined efforts of assassin skills, lab clearance, and hiding in a cart of supplies, the three manage to get in there and actually save a bit more of the secondborn. (Vorpp still escapes though)

Honestly I have no idea how this relationship would progress other than Vlixxa becoming the one maybe okay asura who possibly gets invited to join the plant lesbian polycule?? Maybe??

It would all go to shit so fast though so uhh..
