It was a heated contest for favorite Logan and Veronica moment. The EPIC scene pulled ahead early in the race...
...but the other contenders were hot on its heels.
For awhile it looked like either Logan defending Veronica at his nine months early/three months late surprise party:
Or, the steamy “Don’t Go” scene:
Were going to take the lead and declare victory, but in the end.
The triumphant winner with 17.9% of the vote -
was THE KISS (seen round the world!):
Thanks to everyone who voted (and participated in our VMHQ Character Weeks) and, for all those who wrote in their own favorite LoVe scene, here’s a GIF for you:
Logan and Veronica end character week with style (and some LoVe).
“Thank God character week is over,” Logan says, sprawling across the sofa. “That was exhausting.”
Veronica rolls her eyes. “Exhausting? YOU didn’t do anything.”
“Come on, snookums, do you really think most of our ‘friends’ participated out of the goodness of their hearts? There were threats to be delivered and promises—”
“Promises?” she squawks. “Please tell me you didn’t promise my services to any of your 09er buddies.”
“Ah, I may have implied your help with a favor or two,” he says. “But if they chose to infer that as something concrete... well, that’s not on me, right?”
“Hmph! If even ONE of them asks me to get dirt on their parents or find their missing pet,” she grumbles. “I’m going to charge them a special character week rate - DOUBLE my usual fee.”
“Uh, don’t you already charge the 09ers double, Love Bug?”
“Fine, TRIPLE, then.” She pokes his rib. “And if they don’t pay, YOU’RE going to have to make good on their bill.”
Logan bobs his eyebrows. “Can I pay you in trade?”
An hour later...
“Hey,” Logan says, sitting up and searching for his T-shirt. “Why don’t I get a character week? I want people to draw pictures of me, make gifs, and write odes to my magnif—”
“Your ego is already big enough,” Veronica interrupts, stealing the shirt from his hands and tugging it over her head. “Besides, there are TOO MANY posts about you. There was an entire series of gifs about your FACE, a hotel scene with all this”—she runs her hands across his abs—“on display in a pair of boxer briefs, which frankly, was reblogged way too often for my liking. AND there was even this long debate on the size of your ‘big stick’ - grr.”
He smirks. “You’re STILL cute when you’re jealous.”
Veronica glares at him and he throws up his hands in surrender. “Fine, what if we share the week? We’ll make it a celebration of our luurve and you can tase any followers who get too... frisky.”
She folds her arms over her chest. “I suppose.”
“Aw, don’t be grumpy; I promise we’ll end the week with a big BANG.” Another eyebrow waggle and Logan bends his head to kiss her neck. His lips graze her skin and —
In case you missed any of our characters, Logan and Veronica have compiled a handy reference list. Just click on the character’s name and it will take you to their week’s announcement post:
Carrie Bishop
(Hang on, Veronica and Logan are having a... slight tiff over which photo to use for Carrie.)
Logan’s selection (vetoed by Veronica):
Aaand Veronica’s choice wins:
Now back to the list...
Dick Casablancas
Kendall Casablancas
“Don’t even,” Veronica warns, followed by the sound of tearing.
You know, maybe we should continue this below the cut in case there’s any more fight-- uh, disagreeing.
Jackie Cook
Trina Echolls
Wallace Fennel
Casey Gant
Gia Goodman
Duncan Kane
“No, nuh-uh, no way,” Logan says, crumpling the photo.
“Hey--” Veronica makes a grab for it and Logan holds it out of her reach.
“Guys,” the librarians interrupt before it escalates. “We’re never going to make it through this entire post if you keep getting mad when--”
"We are NOT using a picture of Veronica getting cozy with the Donut or I’m out.”
"Well, how about this one then?”
"Acceptable.” Logan reclines on the couch, surreptitiously pushing the photo of Duncan and Veronica between the cushions. “Carry on.”
Lilly Kane
Parker Lee
“Yeah, that’s fine, but are you sure you don’t want to put it on a CAKE first?” Veronica mocks, scowling at Logan.
The librarians exchange telling looks. “Hey guys, why don’t you two go get dinner and we’ll finish this up on our own?” Neither of them move. “We hear it’s all-you-can-eat at Luigi’s this week.”
A collective sigh of relief as Logan and Veronica leave for bottomless-manicotti.
Cindy “Mac” Mackenzie
Meg Manning
Keith Mars
Cliff McCormack
Eli “Weevil” Navarro

And, lest we forget your prom court:
There was 09er Girl’s Week presented to you by... Shelly Pomroy?
We know you have a lot to say about Duncan and you’ve just been waiting for a forum to air your opinion - here it is. These questions aren’t a quiz and you don’t have to answer all of them (unless you want to, that is). Use them as a fanfic prompt or to engage the rest of the fandom in conversation. Come on, let’s show Duncan how sparkling repartee actually works ;)
If Harry Hamlin couldn’t complete his role on Veronica Mars, Rob Thomas planned to use Duncan as Lilly’s killer - would you have preferred to see Duncan as murderer?
Teddy Dunn was originally told Duncan was bipolar and he chose to play the character as emotionally distant due to the meds he would be taking. Do you think this made it hard for the audience to like Duncan? Was his performance accurate?
If a different actor had played the role, would the audience have liked him more?
Considering Duncan remembers the events of Shelly’s party, how “out of it” do you think he was? Did he really believe Veronica consented? What’s your opinion - did Duncan rape Veronica?
Do you think, if Duncan spoke up, he could have stopped the school from torturing Veronica during the year following Lilly’s murder? Did it make you angry that he did nothing to prevent the 09ers treatment of his ex-love and potential sister?
When and how do you think Duncan learned that Logan was being abused by Aaron? Do you think he ever attempted to help his friend? If he told Jake what was happening, do you think Jake could’ve protected Logan? Would he?
Knowing Logan’s feelings toward Aaron, was Duncan wrong to ignore Logan after the reveal of Aaron as murderer?
Was Duncan a good friend to Logan?
Why do you think Jake and Celeste treated Duncan better than Lilly?
Were Jake and Celeste wrong for protecting their son when they thought he was a murderer? Do you have any empathy for their situation - they already lost one child and didn’t want to lose another to prison?
How do you feel about Veronica dating Duncan again in Season Two? Did it make sense after her summer with Logan?
Do you think Duncan actually DID cheat on Veronica with Kendall?
Duncan’s personality/character gets a major overhaul in Season Two, does this make sense within the context of the show? Instead of gloomy and lacking affect, he’s now supposed to be this gregarious, All-American boy - were we to believe this was a return to the real, pre-Lilly’s death, Duncan?
Why do you think neither Jake nor Celeste wanted to help Duncan obtain custody of his daughter? Did they think being an unwed single father would ruin his future? Or did they think he would be a bad parent? Or was this entire story line out-of-character for all the Kanes and just contrived as a way to write Duncan off the show?
In your opinion, IS Duncan a good parent? Making his daughter live a life on the run instead of looking for other legal means to get custody?
How do you imagine Duncan’s life in the years since he fled Neptune?
Would you want to see Duncan in future installments of Veronica Mars? If so, how would you want him involved?
Have other questions or Duncan related things you want to talk about? Reblog this with your thoughts and let’s get the discussion started.
No, no, no - I TOLD you it can’t be called that because I’m still wanted for...things I’d rather not talk about.
(sorry, how’s this?)
VMHQ: CAINE DEACON WEEK
Better.
So I’m sure everyone wants to know what I’ve been doing since you last saw me and what life is like for me here in...
I can’t really tell you where I am, but life is good. I’m living close to nature now. They say a real simple life is good for your mental health and it’s TRUE. I feel so much better now that I’ve adopted this minimalist approach to life. I’ve reduced the domestic staff to ten and downsized the mansion to an oceanfront house.
I really credit my walkabout for helping me transition into adulthood. AND for introducing me to my spirit animal - the dingo. I totally relate to them. Not the part about them being pests and living a long time in captivity, but how they’re good hunters and often mate for life.
Veronica’s going to love it here when she finally joins me. I’m glad Logan is keeping an eye on my girl for me and that he’s not mad about that little thing with his dad (which, under advice of counsel, I can’t talk about).
Now that Veronica and I are back in touch, thanks to this character week thing, I’m sure she’ll be joining me soon. I can’t wait - it’s gonna be super kewl. Lilly misses her and can’t wait to have a mom.
And, speaking of Lilly, here’s a picture of what she looks like now:
Cute, right? She almost looks like Veronica.
Anyway, I should probably go before someone traces my IP address and finds my super-secret hideout. I’ll try to check back at the end of the week to see all the meta, fanfic, and artwork you create for me. Uh, tag it all #Not Duncan Week so I can find it.
