Vmon
Mutant Au
Contamination and radiation has led to the mutation of alarge minority, producing individuals with frightening and sometimes healththreatening abilities. Tensions have been rising over the years as somegovernments have moved to limit mutants’ freedoms and even incarcerate them. This has pushed many into organised crime and violence.
South Korea is on the brink of a mutant uprising, mainly sponsoredby a human led mafia group that is using the conflict as a route to power.
But news has been leaked of a cure. Genius human scientistKim Namjoon has been researching a way to reverse the mutations ever since hissister died young as a result of gaining powers that destabilised her DNA – andhe’s close. There are plenty who see this as a sign of hope: mutants who are afraidof their powers and humans who are afraid of them.
Others see it as a threat.
V is a deadly mutant assassin sent to eliminate this threat;he can kill with a kiss, with a scratch of his nails, his skin burns to thetouch and the grass dies wherever he steps. The poison in his veins makes himfeel numb, all the better for following orders and not thinking about what heactually wants.
He hunts Namjoon down and breaks into his lab late one nightafter killing the guards with practiced ease. Having located his prey, he goesin for the kill…
But at the last moment, Namjoon stabs him with a needle andinjects a vial of serum and when their lips meet, he doesn’t die.
It’s only temporary, a prototype of the cure that only lastsa few minutes – but in that time V feels more alive than he has for years. Herealises he doesn’t want to live like this: unable to touch and surrounded bydeath.
He knows now that will protect Namjoon. Whatever it takes.
