okay i know that on twt this would cause drama so you can delete this instead of answering if you want. but you asked for asks and i am genuinely curious:
thoughts on "praising the bare minimum"? ex. when big youtubers put pronouns in their bio (referring to non-queer ppl who do it) or use tone indicators and people thank them for it? this is genuinely not a bait question i am very interested in my friends' opinions on this!! like i said ok not to answer :]
honestly i’m glad when ccs put their pronouns in their bio if they’re comfortable with it!! i feel like especially on twitter there’s a big difference between what they think the bare minimum is and what the bare minimum ACTUALLY is (for example i saw people upset that dream was only donating 10% of the merch revenue to the trevor project and calling that the bare minimum. when that 10% would easily be millions of dollars.) i think that it’s good that people are putting their pronouns in their bios and i don’t mind praising them for it!! especially when it’s paired with people actively making donations towards things like the trevor project. idk i just like being nice to people. i will continue praising the bare minimum i guess
and on the tone indicators thing!! i love when people use them and i’m down for thanking them. especially when they didn’t have to. i don’t think tone indicators are necessarily the bare minimum? especially because they’ve only recently been pretty popularized.
