FLIGHT     or fight reaction; he remembers the first time he and kamoshida’s shadow met.  the gap between fantasy and reality had become smaller the more angry he had become. that was the difference between him and shiho; the first time such horrors presented themselves they did something opposite of each other.

he doesn’t want to think about it. it makes his blood boil. the only thing about this case that makes him sleep at night is knowing what they’ll do to him. he thus nudges it to another direction. “ entire religions get build out of those fears. it is saddening to know how we can’t save those hoping. ”

THE     acting of ann is terrible. he cringes each time she tries to weave in another lie with the half-death web. the leader himself is now taking a sip as he looks away while a deep, forced sigh leaves him.

shiho seems to find this hilarious however. he’s envious; he couldn’t handle second-hand embarrassment like she does. “ think you can handle it? ” he asks. the confident nudge and the wink tells him enough, but the line only amplifies it. at worst it could be funny now, he thinks to himself.

        “ oh, hey there, suzui. ” keiji wouldn’t say he and shiho were close, but ... they were teammates, weren’t they ? he felt an obligation to check in on her just as he did mishima. for his silence, for everyone’s, it’s the best he can do. “ how’re you doing today ? ”

      a yelp escaped from him,   unsure what to do in such a situation.  while his legs were off the ground entirely,  hands would rise to grab hold of the girls shirt.   ‘   ---   at least give me a warning  ..  !  ‘  his voice whined,   as an embarrassed huff left his lips.

Even with seeing Suzui outside the hospital like this; living --thriving... Mishima couldn’t ever seem to shake the guilt that pooled in his gut when he spotted her. It wasn’t fair to her, really. He didnt mean to do it. But that guilt even now kept Mishima from having the courage to even look her in the eye. 

“I...probably deserve it...”

He figured she was probably tired of him avoiding her. Despite efforts to be sly about it, Mishima was sure it was pretty obvious. Everyone on the volleyball teams - what remained of them - seemed to think it was obvious. Being subtle was just another thing he seemed to struggle with. 

But, rather than give her a moment to state what her cornering him was about, Mishima bowed. Hands clutched the front of his shirt in tight knots - better than letting them shake at his sides with nerves. “S-Suzui-san, I’m sorry. I never visited you in the h-hospital and even now I... cant even look you in the eye... I’m so sorry for... everything.”

Really, he didn’t have any plans for today, sure the thieves could go into mementos to get some more training. However, Ren never really enjoyed entering mementos just to enter it, he preferred to go in when they had requests to work on. Though, it seemed like his prays would be answer when he felt his phone vibrate. Taking out his phone, he noticed it was a message from Shiho, it seemed like she wanted to hang out and talk about the whole well...Metaverse thing, he thought that was fair. After all, it takes a while to adjust. 

Putting away his phone and grabbing his school bag, he walked over to the gym. Once he was nearby, he opened the doors and started to look around to see if he could find her.
