Okay this is sort of a hail Mary situation, but irl happened and among lots of things like moving and changing careers, this project obviously fell to the wayside. Would anyone be interested in assisting with a last ditch effort to transcribe the episodes before VLD is removed from Netflix? I have a Google drive already set up for files to go and can send access to anyone interested. You'll be credited like with all the episodes thus far, and there is a format to follow, but the main thing is transcribing what you hear, not the subtitles. The subtitles aren't super consistent with the conlang, and don't have character tags unless the character's mouth isn't visible, and the main goal of this is to have accurate line delivery and matching character tags. It really doesn't take long to do any single episode, about the runtime of the episode if you're quick-fingered, with maybe another 10 minutes on top of that if you gotta go back and listen to certain lines.
I'm doing as many as I can but I'm only one person and work full-time, so it's hard to find uninterrupted time to sit down and crank out a ton of these.
Any help is appreciated, especially for Season 7. The show likely will pop up on another streaming service (probably Peacock?), but since S7 and 8 aren't on DVD I'm trying to get those done ASAP just in case, since they're so hated lmfao.
If you're interested, hmu here or on Discord at dragonofyang and lmk you wanna help. I'll get you set up and you can select any episode that doesn't already have a doc made, or I'll show you my WIPs and you can pick one of those while I tackle another.
Summary: The gang plays a rousing game of Monsters & Mana, led by their fearless Lore Master Coran.

[Scene opens in a fantasy setting.]
Hunk/Block: Get behind me! Seal of Protection!
Pidge/Meklavar: Hit it with your lightning bolt!
Block: Lightning bolt!
Both: Ahh!
Meklavar: You call that a lightning bolt?! If you’re the only remaining hope for your village, they’re doomed!
Block: I’m a healer, not a fighter! Soaring staff!
Meklavar: Oh no, that’s the song of eternal slumber. Cast protection from sleep on yourself.
Block: Song of eternal slumber, Pidge? That’s the–[yawn] How come you don’t need it?
Meklavar: I’m a dwarf. Come on!
Block: So sleepy.
Meklavar: Wake up! You’re going the wrong way!
Block: Now!
Meklavar: Got it!
Block: Oh, look. It’s a crystal.
Meklavar: Weird, I’ve never seen an ogre drop a crystal like this. Let’s take it back to the innkeeper, and find out where this ogre got it.
Block: Aw, man. Come on. That’s, like, way on the other side of the Wiebian Swamps. You know how scary and gross those are? Very, very scary and gross.
Meklavar: Come on, you big baby. Your village got turned into stone. Do you want to save them or not?
Block: I mean, they’re not, like, going anywhere. Alright, fine, fine, but I’m not fighting any ghosts this time. I’m just running.
[Cut to the Wiebian Swamps]
Block: Oh, yuck! Yuck! Oh, so scary and gross. What did I tell you? I cannot believe how sticky this Wiebian Swamp goo is. It’s, like, crazy. Hey, you hungry?
Meklavar: We don’t have any money, Hunk. We’re just gonna meet the innkeeper and leave.
Block: Oh, man. I would not have run so hard if I didn’t think there might be food.
Meklavar: Fine.
Block: This is not the atmosphere I remember from last time. Whoa, what are you doing?
Meklavar: Looking for coins.
Meklavar: A greasy meat pile for my friend, please.
Innkeeper: One health plate coming up! Oh, it’s you two again. Did you find any clues?
Meklavar: We found a crystal, just like you thought we might.
Innkeeper: Just as I feared. Those ogres are mercenaries. They’ll fight for anyone that has crystals. The only person that uses this type is the evil wizard Dakin.
Block: Evil wizard? That doesn’t sound good.
Innkeeper: It isn’t, though I admit I should have suspected him. There aren’t many wizards powerful enough to turn a whole village to stone.
Meklavar: So how do we save them?
Innkeeper: You’ll have to defeat Dakin. He’s inside Carthian’s Lair… a tomb of horrors so filled with monsters, traps, and terrors that most heroes would be driven insane at the mere thought of entering.
Block: Uh, maybe those villagers like being turned into stone? Okay, alright. So where do we find this tomb of horrors?
Innkeeper: Just inside the Feldakor Mountains.
Shiro/Shiro: The Feldakor Mountains, you say? You two think you have what it takes to smite evil?
Meklavar: Who are you?
Shiro: Me? My name is Takashi Shirogane. I’m a paladin. And you?
Block: Me? I’m Block, the sorcerer.
Meklavar: Name’s Meklavar. Best axe-fighter in three lands. We’re on our way to break the curse put on Block’s town. The villagers were turned to stone by Dakin. What’s your story?
Shiro: I’m on my own adventure. [cuts to a flashback] From a young age, I was chosen to be a paladin because of my bright internal light. My master, D’Jahno, taught me the seven pillars of knighthood. He forged not only my mind, but also my body. I became a shield for good and a weapon against evil. Before I could complete my training, a leviathan demon attacked our monastery. It destroyed all we had, including my master. D’Jahno’s last words to me were…
D’Jahno: You no longer need my guidance to complete your training. Defeating the leviathan will teach you all there is to know.
Past!Shiro: No!
[Return to present]
Shiro: Hey, where are you guys going?
Block: Totally sounds like you’re too busy to help us with this wizard, though.
Meklavar: Good luck with the leviathan.
Block: Man, that guy was so boring.
Shiro: Wait! Wait. As a paladin, I swore an oath to vanquish evil. I cannot deny the righteousness of your quest. I will help you defeat the wizard, and then return to my hunt for the demon that destroyed my master.
Block: Ooh, what’s that?
Meklavar: Oh no!
Pidge: Oh no! Shiro’s dead!
Coran: Shoo, shoo!
Shiro: Did I really die in the game?
Coran: Yes.
Shiro: But that doesn’t make any sense. The mice aren’t playing the game.
Coran: Don’t worry, you can just make a new character.
Shiro: I’m going to be a paladin again.
Coran: Oh, come on now. Do you really want to play a paladin? I mean, you could be something completely different: a maven, a mage, a cleric, a klazgool, a bard.
Shiro: I don’t know what’s more fulfilling than being a paladin.
Coran: But you’re already a paladin in real life!
Allura: Is everything alright? We heard yelling.
Pidge: We’re all good.
Lance: What’s going on in here?
Coran: We’re playing Monsters and Mana.
Lance: Monsters and huh?
Coran: It’s a game.
Pidge: It’s fun.
Lance: I dunno. How can a game that needs a book be fun?
Coran: You ought to read it and find out.
Lance: Nah.
Coran: I’ve been playing Monsters and Mana since I was a boy. My bandmates and I, the Pirate Polychoral, used to play it all the time. I was always the Lore Master.
Allura: So, how do you play?
Coran: Okay, so each person creates a fantastical character. The character is represented by a figurine on this holo-map to help them track their action. But the real fun happens in the mind. Each player gets a turn, and every turn they say what they want to do. The Lore Master, me, knows the difficulty of the task. The person must roll a 20-sided die to see if they can accomplish their action.
Lance: Woah, a 20-sided dice? How big is that thing?
Pidge: It’s normal-sized, it just has 20 sides.
Lance: No, no, no, no. It’s got 20 sides? It’s gotta be the size of a Yalexian pearl. Oh.
Coran: Do you want to play?
Lance: Don’t you guys have something better to do right now? Like, I don’t know, universe-defending stuff?
Pidge: Hunk and I ran into a snag upgrading the Castle’s shields. We’re running a diagnostic, but all we can do is wait.
Shiro: I’m trying to take a mental break. We’ve been going really hard lately.
Allura: I’ll play! Lotor’s busy handling his imperial responsibilities, and I’m at an impasse with the comet ship. Plus, it sounds fun.
Lance: Yeah. Yeah, I already worked out today, so I guess I don’t have anything going on. Might as well play your little nerd game.
Coran: Here you go. Create your characters with the interface loaded onto these. It’ll keep track of your stats. Now it’s time to begin the heroes’ journey.
[Return to game setting]
Pidge/Meklavar: Watch out!
Allura/Valayun: Ow. I’m the mystical archer Valayun, searching for the rune stone of Lapham. What quest are you on?
Meklavar: Block’s town was turned to stone by an evil wizard. We tracked him down through his special crystals.
Hunk/Block: Hey, hey-hey, hey! Whoa, where’d you come from?
Lance/Pike: The name’s Pike. I was going to rob you clodhoppers of your junk, but it sounds like the bigger score is helping you jack this wizard with the crystals.
Meklavar: So you chose a thief, huh?
Pike: I’m not a thief! I’m a ninja assassin, the silent killer. My victims never know I’m coming ‘cause I don’t say a word. They look around, and don’t see anything, so they drop their guard, but what they don’t realize is that I’m lurking in the shadows, silently watching.
Shiro: Yeah, you’re very quiet.
Pike: But I do steal things. In fact, that’s a lot of what my character does. You’re a dwarf, huh?
Meklavar: Oh, yeah. I’m Meklavar, a dwarven miner whose precious family heirloom, the Jewel of Jitan, was stolen. I’m on a quest to retrieve it.
Pike: Precious family heirloom. Mm…
Valayun: Well, it’s very fortunate that I arrived here. I can aid you on your quest. I’ll summon a mount.
[Scene change to Carthain’s Lair.]
Block: Did anyone remember to bring torches?
Shiro: I really think my character would have remembered to bring a torch.
Coran: Oh, yeah? Why don’t you check your little inventory there? Oh, no torches, eh? Then I guess you forgot to bring them.
All: [groan]
Allura: Oh, I have something!
Block: It’s just a wall. But this is where we’re supposed to go, right?
Meklavar: Maybe there’s a secret here.
Pike: Maybe you just have to knock. What can I say? I’m good at puzzles and junk.
Meklavar: Wait. There could be traps. You have to check for them.
Pike: Why do I have to check for them?
Meklavar: Because you’re the thief. You’re the only one in the group with that skill.
Pike: How do I even check for traps?
Coran: You roll the 20-sided die, adding your check for traps skill to the roll. If it’s high enough, you’ll remove the trap.
Lance: And what if it’s too low?
Coran: You activate the trap.
Pike: Oh, man!
All: [screaming]
Block: Levitation!
Shiro: Great work there, Block. Let’s keep going.
[Montage of dungeon fights for the adventuring party.]
Pike: Okay, what’s next?
Block: Oh, mamma mia. Look at all this treasure.
Meklavar: It’s our reward for getting past all those traps.
Pike: This is more like it. We fall for traps all the time in real life and we never get treasure.
Valayun: Wow! A quick-draw quiver with a magical creature-summoning arrow.
Meklavar: Oh, sweet! Gloves of transmutation! These bad boys can transmogrify the elemental matter of any inanimate object.
Pike: Awesome! And I got an invisibility cloak.
Block: A bowl that is never empty of food. Our days of vandalizing innkeepers’ vases are over.
Shiro: Wow, a blazing sword! Hey guys, check it–[screaming]
All: [screaming]
Meklavar: Ooh, he dropped a rare item!
Innkeeper: Fools!
Block: Hey, Innkeeper. What are you doing here?
Innkeeper: You dumb-dumbs! I only run the inn to trick foolish adventurers into gathering valuable crystals for me. Thank you for bringing them directly to my lair.
Pike: Who is this guy?
Block: So you’re Dakin?
Meklavar: You were behind this all along!
Innkeeper/Dakin: This is where your adventure ends.
Jiro: I’m Shiro’s twin brother, Jiro, here to complete Shiro’s quest.
Meklavar: A paladin again?
Dakin: Only fools would enter my tomb of horrors. I am the most powerful wizard in all of Aurita.
Block: Oh, yeah? Well, we don’t care. We’re here to turn my village back from stone, man.
Dakin: Your quest is in vain. I’ve already siphoned off their life force. You would have to permanently defeat me in order to restore it. But instead, I will become the most powerful being in all of the planes. I’m going to evaporate you, just like I did with your twin brother!
Valayun: Let’s get him! Yah! Yah! Yah!
Meklavar: [screams]
Valayun: Healing Arrow!
Jiro: I will avenge my twin!
Block: Water Spout! Embiggen!
Meklavar: We did it!
Pike: Hooray!
Block: Hunk-a-lunk! We defeated the bad guy!
Pike: Yeah! I hope those stone villagers have a little cold hard cash for us.
Jiro: Wow. This game is so amazing. It requires problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, all the skills you’d want to imbue when doing team-building exercises.
Pike: Stop trying to ruin our fun with learning.
Block: Uh-oh.
Dakin: Fools! You did exactly as I planned. Only by being slain by five pure of heart on this evil altar could I become the all-powerful Coranic Dragon!
Meklavar: We aren’t powerful enough to defeat a dragon, much less a Coranic one.
Valayun: Fire Healing Arrow!
Block: Uh, I’m low on mana. I can’t cast any of my big spells!
Valayun: I only have one summoning arrow left!
Jiro: Get back! I’ll draw its attacks. Begone! Darg!
Block: We’ll never defeat it without a plan! Secret!
Hunk: Hey, I cast Secret. You can’t listen to us. Got it?
All: Secret received.
Valayun: Let’s do this.
Pike: Nana-nana boo-boo! Nana-nana boo-boo! Come on, come and get me! Hey! Over here!
All: [cheering]
Allura: So much fun!
Hunk: Like, too much fun. Great idea to transmute that food into oil.
Pidge: Yeah, if only we could transmute the particle barrier’s polarity.
Hunk: Yeah, yeah. To do that you’d need some kind of quantum shift network to simulate a collapse of the wave pocket into a darkening perplexity.
Pidge: Yeah, and that would be impossible without…
Both: Changing the Planck Constant!
Lance: Somehow I understand the fantasy words better than the science ones.
Shiro: I can’t get over how great that game was. And my head feels so much better. Thank you, Coran.
Coran: The game isn’t over yet. Wait until you find out who Dakin was working for. Maybe you’ll finally be able to avenge your master.
Shiro: How can you have an adventure ready to avenge my master? I just made that story up.
Coran: I also made it all up, Shiro. That’s the real magic of Monsters and Mana.
Allura: That was incredible! It’s crazy how long we’ve been playing. It seemed like no time at all.
Lance: Yeah, we have a pretty good time together, don’t we?
Allura: We sure do.
Lotor: Allura! I have grand news. The ship is ready to begin testing.
Summary: Taking the fight to the Galra, the team utilizes Pidge’s “Galra Finder” to track down the nearest opponent. They find a planet called Taujeer, where the people were just robbed from Commander Morvok and stranded on their unstable planet. Keith, believing Zarkon is tracking them through him, attempts to leave in the middle of the night only to have Allura join him as well since she believes Zarkon is tracking them through her. The rest of the team continues on to Taujeer to save the people there, only for Zarkon to locate them and send Morvok back to capture the lions. Allura and Keith try to head back to help fight but the booster jet in the pod explodes their ship, leaving them stranded. Hunk unlocks grappling claws for his lion to save the Taujeerians and Red comes to Keith so he can join the fight.
[Google Doc]
Sentry: Stay back.
Taujeerian: You have already taken all our supplies and resources. My people are loaded on that ark, ready to leave our beloved home before it dissolves completely. Don’t take our only means of escape.
Morvok: You still have one engine left, Baujal. Not to mention a very viable collection of parts. If your people are strong enough to survive, they will. That is the Galra way.
Baujal: Morvok!
[ Scene change to Castleship ]
Allura: There’s no point in debating this further. Zarkon is clearly tracking us through me.
Lance: What? No way!
Hunk: Aww, space baloney!
Pidge: That’s not possible!
Allura: Why would that be so hard to believe? Zarkon’s forces showed up on Arus only after I awoke.
Lance: She’s got a point. I would absolutely travel across the galaxy to find you.
Keith: It’s not you, Princess Allura. It’s me.
Hunk: Because?
Keith: I just think - I mean Zarkon must’ve... imprinted on me during our fight or something.
Pidge: Look, the fact is, we don’t know how Zarkon is tracking us. It could be through the Black Lion! Every time Zarkon gets close to it, Shiro has to fight him for control.
Coran: That’s only when Zarkon is nearby. No Paladin has ever been able to connect with a lion over a vast distance.
Hunk: So what are we going to do?
Shiro: Look, it doesn’t matter how he’s tracking us because we’re gonna take the fight to the Galra soon enough. They’ve been chasing us from galaxy to galaxy. The last thing they expect is for us to come after them.
Lance: The hunter becomes the hunted, hmm? Awesome! That’s a tag line from like six of my favorite movies.
Pidge: As it happens, I took our list of recent Galra attacks and analyzed it for both commonalities and anomalies among the attack sites. I was hoping to create an algorithm that would, within a statistically acceptable margin of error, provide a list of target-rich environments - color-coded, of course, because what are we, animals?
Lance: Cool! What is it again?
Hunk: It’s a Galra finder?
Pidge: Well, “finder” suggests that it locates the Galra, whereas it would be more accurate to say that my model predicts their likeliest - huh?
Pidge: … Fine. It’s a Galra finder.
Lance: Sooo where are the Galra?
Pidge: The nearest ones are right here: a planet called Taujeer.
Shiro: Then that’s where we’re headed. Everyone should get some sleep. Tomorrow, we’ll find that Galra fleet and take it out.
[ Allura, Pidge, Hunk, and Lance leave ]
Shiro: Is everything okay?
Keith: Yeah. Why?
Shiro: You just seem a bit anxious.
Keith: I’m fine. Just tired. Like you said, I should get some sleep.
[ Scene change to Keith in his room, examining his blade ]
Keith: Huh?
[ Scene change to Keith entering Red’s hangar ]
Keith: What’s the matter, Red? It’s me.
[ Scene change to Keith surrounded by sentries and Galra soldiers ]
Zarkon: I can find you anywhere.
[ Scene change to Keith waking up in his bed and taking another look at his knife ]
[ Scene change to Keith in a Castle hangar, ready to enter a pod ]
Keith: Huh? Princess, what are you doing here?
Allura: Oh. I might ask you the same thing.
Keith: Nothing! Just walking. Late at night. Near the… pods.
Allura: In full Paladin armor with a bag of your belongings?
Keith: I have to know if Zarkon is tracking me. This is the only way. Don’t try to stop me.
Allura: I’m not going to stop you, I’m going to join you.
[ Scene change to Castleship bridge ]
Coran: We should be entering Taujeer’s orbit soon.
Shiro: Raise the particle barrier. Scan for Galra. Where are Keith and Allura?
Coran: It appears that one of the pods launched in the middle of the night.
Lance: Wait a minute, Keith and Allura? In the middle of the night? You don’t think they’re… sittin’ in a tree?
Shiro: Contact the pod.
Lance: Yes! Contact that pod!
[ Scene change to Keith and Allura in the pod ]
Coran, over transmission: Princess, Keith, where are you?
Allura: Exactly where we should be - far away from the Castle.
Shiro, over transmission: What? Why?
Allura: We must know if we are the ones Zarkon is tracking.
[ Scene change to Castleship ]
Pidge: They’re isolating the variable. Well, isolating two variables.
Lance: In English, please?
Pidge: In order to test a hypothesis -
Lance: I said English!
Pidge: Ah! Nevermind!
[ Scene change to Allura and Keith ]
Alluar: Pidge is right. If Zarkon finds you despite my absence, we will know with total certainty that we are not the ones he is tracking.
Shiro, over transmission: Splitting up the group makes us far more vulnerable. Come back to the Castle immediately.
Allura: I’m sorry Shiro, I cannot do that.
Keith: If Zarkon does find us, I can pilot us to safety. We’re in wide open space with plenty of room to maneuver.
[ Scene change to Castleship ]
Keith, over intercom: Plus, we’d be able to outrun him. Pidge added that booster rocket.
Coran: That thing’s still on there?
Shiro: We need both of you back here now! What’s going on?
Hunk: We’re in some sort of debris field!
Coran: I believe it’s coming from Taujeer! Correction: I think it is Taujeer!
Allura, over intercom: Coran, what’s going on-
Coran: Some kind of radiation from the planet is interfering with communications!
Shiro: Move the Castle away from the planet and reestablish the link. Everyone else, get to your lions.
[ Scene change to Taujeerians on the planet’s surface ]
Taujeerian: Something’s approaching!
Hunk: I don’t see any Galra.
Lance: Looks like that fancy Galra finder doesn’t work. Nice try, Pidge.
Baujal: Thank goodness you’re here! I am Baujal, the leader of the Taujeerians. The Galra just destroyed our ship’s engines and left.
Pidge: So the Galra were here, Lance!
Lance: Mmm.
Baujal: They’ve taken everything. We must get everyone off the planet before it dissolves completely. Please, help us!
Shiro: How long do we have?
Hunk: Not long!
Shiro: How did this happen?
Baujal: We’ve known for years that our planet would eventually lose its outer layer.
Lance: Like a snake shedding its skin?
Hunk: Yeah, yeah, that doesn’t sound so bad! I mean, beneath that old skin is a new, healthy layer, right?
Pidge: Nope! No, I - I think the next layer is acid.
Baujal: The plan was to evacuate the population to our nearest moon, where we have built a colony to wait out the shedding process. So we relocated to higher ground and constructed that ark.
Lance: What happened?
Baujal: The Galra attacked, led by a vile commander named Morvok. He robbed us of vital resources and left us with only one operational engine, stranding us here.
Shiro: You’re not stranded anymore. We will save your people.
Baujal: I believe you, for I have heard many legends of the valor of Voltron. Five brave Paladins dedicated to this - wait wait - I count only four of you. A-Are you not Voltron?
Lance: Uhh… almost?
Baujal: Where is the fifth Paladin?
Shiro: He’s not here, but we can still help you.
Baujal: I would feel more comfortable with all five Paladins.
Shiro: Duly noted. Pidge, Hunk, take a look at the ark and see what we’re dealing with.
Hunk: Piece of cake, we’ll get it flying in no time.
[ Taujeerian ship falls apart ]
Hunk: Would you settle for upright?
[ Scene change to Keith and Allura ]
Keith: We’ve been here for hours. Still no sign of Zarkon.
Well, I’m glad I don’t have to wait here alone. You understand, I could never live with myself if Zarkon was finding us because of me... I must know. We face such a dire threat from the Galra.
Keith: Well, sure they’re bad - no doubt about that. But, at the same time, couldn’t at least a few of them be fighting for good? Just look at Ulaz. He sacrificed himself to save us.
Allura: For all we know, his sacrifice was a ploy. One life means nothing to Zarkon.
Keith: It means something to me! It means some of them are actually willing to help! And we could use all the help we could get!
Allura: Any offer of help from the Galra is merely a prelude to a trap. I know all too well how quickly they turn.
Keith: It just seems crazy to lump everyone together.
Allura: Listen, if there are any good Galra, they have had ten thousand years to take down Zarkon. I would never count on them for help.
[ Scene change to Zarkon’s ship and the Druids ]
Zarkon: I have located them. Get me Morvok.
[ Scene change to Morvok aboard his ship ]
Zarkon, over intercom: Commander Morvok.
Morvok: Aaah! Lord Zarkon!
Zarkon: I am sending you coordinates near your current location. Voltron is there. Find it and bring it to me.
Morvok: Voltron, sire?
Zarkon: Indeed. Have you received the coordinates?
Morvok: If I may, I was able to acquire many resources - all to glorify your mighty reign, may it last a thousand centuries!
Zarkon: Your bootlicking does not impress me, Morvok.
Morvok: I merely meant that I could be of even more use if I were to bring you these resources instead of -
Zarkon: Are you refusing my order?
Morvok: Of course not! I will not fail you, Lord Zarkon.
Zarkon: See that you don’t. Vrepit sa.
Morvok: Vrepit sa.
[ Scene change to Taujeer and the Paladins ]
Pidge: Assuming we can get it back up, the repairs will still take time.
Lance: Which would appear to be the one thing we don’t have.
Shiro: We need to slow down the shedding.
Pidge: How do you stop a planet that’s coming apart at the seams?
Hunk: By sewing it back together!
Shiro: W-What do you mean?
Hunk: That new Green Lion weapon causes vegetation to grow, right? Well I was thinking that if you aim it at the cracks in the planet, the vines could act like stitches!
Shiro: Won’t the stitches get dissolved by the acid?
Pidge: The stitches might hold longer if they’re frozen!
Shiro: It’s a plan! Hunk, you and I will take our lions and get this ark upright while Pidge and Lance buy us some time.
Hunk: My side’s clear, Shiro.
Shiro: Almost done.
Pidge: Yes! It worked!
Shiro: It won’t hold forever, keep going! Come on! Give it all you’ve got! That’s it! We’re almost there. Thanks guys!
Lance: You got it.
Pidge: Anytime!
Taujeerians: [cheering]
Shiro: All right, Hunk, time to work on those engines.
[ Scene change to Allura and Keith ]
Keith: So what happens if Zarkon does come after us?
Allura: You said you could pilot us to safety, right?
Keith: Sure, but after that, could we even go back to the group? And if we don’t, who would pilot the Castle or create wormholes?
Allura: Well what about you? Without you, the team cannot form Voltron.
[ Scene change to Taujeer and the Paladins ]
Hunk: Well, it ain’t pretty, but it should get you airborne -
Shiro: Just in time!
Pidge: What was that?
Shiro: The Galra! They’re back. Hunk! Take the Yellow Lion and hold up the ark! If it falls into the acid, the Taujeerians are doomed!
Hunk: Not to mention the guy beneath them, which would be me, in this particular scenario.
Shiro: Lance, Pidge, we’ve got to draw the cruiser’s fire. Coran, we need you here now! Attack the Galra cruiser!
Coran: I’m on my way!
[ Scene change to Allura and Keith ]
Coran, over intercom: Keith, Allura, are you there?
Allura: We’re here, Coran. What is it?
Coran: Zarkon is definitely not tracking us through either of you.
Keith: He’s not?
Allura: How do you know?
Coran: Because you’re out there, and a Galra fleet just showed up here! We need you now!
Allura: We’ll be there in two doboshes.
Keith: Even faster than that.
Allura: What is that?
Keith: It’s the booster fuel Pidge added to this pod.
[ Pod explodes ]
Keith: Allura! Grab my hand! Princess, are you okay?
Allura: I believe so. Is your radio still working?
Keith: Let’s find out. Coran, can you hear me?
[ Scene change to Morvok aboard his ship ]
Morvok: This is going far better than I anticipated. W-we could actually capture Voltron! I could get transferred back to the hub. And they said I wasn’t good enough to be in the hub! Maybe Zarkon will invite me to sit in his box at the gladiator matches! The ultimate honor!
Galra soldier 1: Sir! Three Voltron Lions incoming!
Morvok: Fire on them with our full arsenal! Keep firing!
Galra soldier 2: Sir, the lions are moving too fast for us to hit.
Morvok: Well let’s make them stay in one place! Train the ion cannon on the ark. Sink the entire thing into the acid!
Shiro: They’re aiming the ion cannon on the ark! Lance! Pidge! Attack the ship with your jaw blades!
[ Scene change to Allura and Ketih ]
Keith: We’ll never get there at this rate!
Allura: This was a terrible mistake! Shiro was right. We never should have left them.
[ Scene change to Taujeer ]
Hunk: Rocks! Big, big rocks!
Lance: We got you, buddy!
Morvok: What happened?
Galra soldier 1: The Black Lion attacked the cannon. He’s disabled our projectile guidance system. We won’t be able to aim the cannon until it’s fixed.
Morvok: Fix it! Full attack! Fire with everything we’ve got!
Shiro: Way to go, Coran! Hunk, what’s your status?
Hunk: Mostly just trying not to fall into a bubbling pot of acid.
Morvok: Divert all shields to the main hull! Focus full firepower on their ship!
Lance: We’re being overwhelmed!
Pidge: We need Voltron!
Coran: Oh, if only there were another who could pilot the Red Lion. Finally, Alfor. I will walk in your footsteps! Oh, Red Lion, I am unworthy to be your Paladin, but since you have chosen to bestow this honor upon me, Coran Hieronymus Wimbleton Smythe, I humbly accept. Oh yes!
[Red Lion leaves hangar]
Coran: Right. Okay. Just a quick lap! Uh, okay, guys? So... yeah... the - the Red Lion ran away.
Hunk: I can’t hold it any longer!
Shiro: Hunk, you have to! If you let go, the Taujeerians will die!
Hunk: Oh, woah! Armor claws! Guys, I can keep this thing from falling any farther but I need your help to get it back up!
Shiro: We’re on our way!
[ Scene change to Allura and Keith ]
Allura: Keith, look!
Keith: Huh?
Allura: The Red Lion found you!
[ Scene change to Taujeer ]
Galra Soldier 2: Sir, the ion cannon’s guidance system is back online. And the lions appear to have gathered beneath the ark.
Morvok: Perfect! The lions will go down with it. Fire when ready!
Lance: All right!
Shiro: Good to have you back, Keith!
Keith: Good to be back!
Lance: Is the Princess with you?
Keith: Yes.
Lance: Like “with you” with you, or…
Hunk: Uh, Keith? Little help?
Keith: On my way, buddy!
Shiro: All right everybody, no time to relax. Let’s show them what they’re dealing with. Form Voltron!
Galra Soldier 1: Sir, our weapons systems are knocked out completely. Should we retreat?
Morvok: Never! Aim the ship at the ark! We will take it down ourselves. To die for the Galra Empire is the greatest honor imaginable. Vrepit sa!
Soldiers 1 & 2: Vrepit sa!
Morvok: Prepare my escape pod.
Pidge: They’re heading for the ark!
Hunk: They’re gonna ram it!
Shiro: We’ll have to meet them head-on. Form sword!
Lance: Will the sword be able to cut through an entire battle cruiser?
Shiro: It’ll have to!
Keith: Guys, I think my lion is telling me something.
Lance: Yeah, mine too!
Pidge: I can feel it too!
Hunk: Same here!
Shiro: Then do it!
Everyone: [cheering]
Shiro: Now let’s get the Taujeerians to safety.
Hunk: How’re we gonna do that? Their booster rockets are shot.
[ Scene change to Castleship bridge ]
Allura: I’m so sorry for leaving.
Keith: Me too. We thought we were doing the right thing.
Allura: But clearly you were correct, Shiro. We are always stronger together.
Lance: At least we learned that Zarkon isn’t tracking us through you two.
Hunk: Plus, I learned that my lion can grow armor and extend its claws like that! Ting! Which will come in handy if we ever needed to, say, I don’t know, slice up a giant steak while getting beat up. Or fight evil and save innocent people. That too, that would work.
Shiro: The fact that the Red Lion came to help Keith from so far away is a vital piece of information. We now have proof that a lion and a Paladin can in fact connect over a far greater distance than we realized. Which means we finally know how Zarkon is tracking us: it’s through the Black Lion.
Summary: The fight to save the universe rages on in the heart of Daibazaal’s ruins, where each clash weakens the fabric of reality a little more. In the rift between realities, a choice must be made, and then again when the universe begins to fracture due to the damage wrought by Sincline and Voltron.
[Google Doc]
Keith: Coran, you’ve got incoming.
Keith: Shield! Hunk, form cannon!
Hunk: You got it!
Lance: He’s too fast!
Keith: Then we’ll have to get in close. Form sword!
Lotor: Now we will see how Alfor’s legacy stands against the new Altean defender.
Keith: Move! Shield up!
Keith: Attack!
Pidge: We can’t touch him. He’s too fast!
Hunk: We need to stop him from moving around, back him into a corner or something.
Keith: Hunk is right. We have to eliminate his speed advantage. Limit his movements. There! Now we lure him in close.
Keith: Wait for him. Let him build up speed. Now!
Hunk: Where’d he go?
Pidge: He’s behind us!
Keith: Hunk, hit him with the shoulder cannon!
Hunk: On it!
Keith: Fire!
Lance: Did we get him?
Hunk: I don’t know.
Lance: I think we got him.
Pidge: It looked like he just disappeared.
Lance: Yeah! We got him.
Allura: I’m not so sure.
[Brief flash to the Castleship’s infirmary.]
Keith: Is everyone okay?
Pidge: How is he moving so fast?
Keith: We’ve gotta get up and attack.
Lance: Okay, so that time we definitely did not get him.
Hunk: How can he just disappear like that?
Allura: He’s entering the quintessence field at will.
Hunk: Didn’t we blow up the gate?
Pidge: How is he entering without it?
Allura: Because I gave his ships the ability.
Lotor: Unlimited power is mine. All realities will fall to the new Altean Empire!
Keith: We have to go in after him. Getting power from the quintessence is the only way we can match his strength.
Hunk: Can we do that?
Pidge: If he can do it, Voltron can. Can’t we?
Allura: My father did it once before, but it’s extremely dangerous.
Lance: Do we have a choice?
Keith: We need your help, Allura. We have to try.
Allura: I may be able to guide us in, but I’ll need you all to focus your energy.
Allura: Form sword.
Allura: Huh?
Lance: Woah.
Lotor: I underestimated you, Princess.
Pidge: We took a major shot, but I feel fine.
Hunk: All this quintessence is keeping us at full power.
Keith: It’s more than that. Can you hear your lions talking to you? Voltron is capable of more than we ever imagined.
Keith: Attack!
Pidge: See if you can dodge this!
Lance: Come and get some!
Pidge: Let’s end this!
Lance: Finish him!
Hunk: Let’s destroy that guy!
Allura: We have to get out of here.
Keith: What are you talking about?
Allura: This is exactly what happened to Zarkon. Exposure to all this quintessence turned him into a monster!
Lotor: Poor Allura! All the power in the universe at your fingertips and you still fear using it!
Lance: Allura’s right. We’re out of control!
Pidge: All our systems are overloaded.
Keith: Here comes Lotor!
Hunk: How do we stop this?
Allura: We give Lotor all the power he wants.
Keith: Let’s grab Lotor and get out of here.
Pidge: No, we can’t. We have to leave now.
Allura: We must try.
Hunk: Pidge is right. We stay in here much longer and Voltron is done for.
Allura: But we can’t just leave him!
Lance: Allura, we gotta go now!
Keith: Lotor’s made his choice. Let’s get out of here, Allura.
Allura: If we’d stayed in the quintessence field, we would’ve kept fighting until we destroyed ourselves. Just like Lotor.
Keith: What did you do in there?
Allura: I transferred the excess power from Voltron. It’s a technique I learned on Oriande. Thanks to Lotor.
Lance: Thank you, Allura. You saved us.
Hunk: Not just us. The entire universe.
Coran: Oh, you’re back!
Keith: Lotor is no longer a threat.
Coran: Right. I’m afraid we face a bigger threat now. All of Lotor’s jumping in and out of the quintessence field has created multiple growing rifts in the fabric of time and space.
Lance: What does that mean?
Pidge: It means that unless we do something fast, those tears will continue to expand until all of existence as we know it has been destroyed.
Keith: There has to be something we can do.
Pidge: Scanning the rift for any strand refabrication possibilities.
Hunk: I’m running a few different models now to see if there’s any chance it could close on its own.
Pidge: Nothing.
Hunk: Nope. Me neither.
Keith: How long do we have?
Coran: Well, based on the way those rifts are expanding, I’d say about fifteen doboshes.
Lance: Allura, you have to have a way to close it. Voltron opened it up, maybe we can… I don’t know, but there’s gotta be a way!
Allura: I’m sorry, but I just don’t possess that level of alchemic knowledge.
Pidge: The only thing that could possibly pull that rift closed would be a source of gravity more powerful than a supermassive black hole.
Lance: Any chance we could find one and tow it over here in fifteen doboshes?
Coran: Wait a tick. The teludav!
Keith: What about it?
Coran: In order to make wormhole jumps, the teludav creates a brief flash of infinite mass. There might be a way I can overload the teludav reactor and seal the rift. If one of the flashes went off in the rift, it could do the job.
Hunk: But that would mean sacrificing the Castle of Lions.
Pidge: Well, what choice do we have? The castle will be wiped out with the rest of us.
Hunk: But still… it’s been our home.
Coran: Oh, I hate to say goodbye to my grandfather’s creation, the last piece of the real Altea.
Allura: Coran, begin preparations. Everyone else, start unloading the castle. We need to evacuate immediately.
[Montage of the characters loading up the lions with their essentials, ending with Coran standing at the castle bridge.]
Coran: Goodbye, old friend.
[Cut to the Paladins in their lions.]
Hunk: It worked!
Allura: You did it, Coran.
Hunk: And look.
Keith: What is it?
Hunk: It’s a diamond. The pressure crushed the Castle of Lions into this little diamond.
Lance: Well, we saved all realities everywhere. What do you guys wanna do now?
Keith: We need to find someplace to land and see if there’s some way we can help Shiro.
[Scene change to a mostly barren planet in an unnamed solar system.]
Keith: This body is barely living, but Shiro’s spirit is alive. It’s inside the Black Lion. I’ve heard him talking to me.
Lance: He… he tried to tell me, but I didn’t realize. I’m so sorry, Shiro. I--I didn’t know. I could’ve…
Shiro: You found me.
Keith: We’re glad you’re back, Shiro.
Allura: Rest.
Hunk: So what’re we gonna do? The castle is destroyed.
Pidge: There’s only one place that has the plans necessary to build a replacement for the Castle of Lions. Coran gave them to my dad.

Summary: With Lotor kidnapped and Shiro seemingly turned traitor, the Castle of Lions is undergoing critical failure of the controls, and the team has Lotor’s generals to contend with on top of it all.
[Google Doc]
Coran: I’m headed your way!
Keith: Coran, no! The Castle of Lions barely survived the first time we fought one of those ships. You’ll only--
Allura: Keith is right, Coran, the ship’s defenses will never hold!
Pidge: Guys, we can’t take this much longer!
Lance: Do you guys have any ideas?
Keith: Coran, fire just below our position!
Coran: What?
Keith: Destroy the rock we’re pinned against. Now! Lance! Pidge! I need you to get us some cover.
Lance: Right!
Pidge: On it!
Keith: Who’s got eyes on Shiro?
Pidge: What just happened? Is that…?
Lance: A wormhole?
Keith: They’re trying to escape.
Allura: Haggar. It has to be Haggar. She must have gained the ability. But how?
Keith: We can’t worry about that now. We have to make sure we get Shiro back.
Hunk: But Shiro’s not Shiro anymore.
Keith: I know, but something is wrong with him. The Galra or Lotor have to be behind it. You all know he would never give up on us. We can’t give up on him. Guys, one of my thrusters is down. Can you compensate?
Pidge: Those beams torched our power core. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Hunk: We’ve got maybe thirty seconds of over-clocked burn time.
Keith: The energy from disconnecting might create enough thrust to propel me through the wormhole.
Allura: You’ll be the only one on the other side!
Keith: Do it!
[Scene change as Keith enters the wormhole where a massive Galra fleet awaits.]
Keith: Alright, gotta play this smart.
Ezor: Wow. I can’t believe he made it.
Zethrid: I’ll take him out.
Acxa: No. You two escort the package back to Honerva. I’ll take care of this one.
[Scene change to inside the hangar of one of the Galra cruisers.]
Lotor: Zethrid. Ezor.
Zethrid: We’ll take it from here.
Ezor: Um… is it broken?
Zethrid: Just leave it. We’ve got orders. Ezor!
Ezor: Coming!
Honerva: You are to lead the Black Lion away from the fleet. Is that understood?
Shiro: Yes. But how am I to lure them away?
Honerva: The Red Paladin’s connection to you runs deep. Deeper than the others. He still believes there is good left inside you, which leaves him vulnerable to persuasion. You will exploit this weakness.
Shiro: I understand.
[Cut to Black Lion attacking the fleet.]
Keith: Think. Think. How are we gonna get in there? Shiro! Shiro, come in. I know you’re there! I don’t know what’s wrong, but I know we can fix this. Let me help you.
Male Galra Officer: All ships, dock immediately, and prepare for hyper-jump.
Keith: I know you’re hurting. We just need to keep it together a little longer.
[Scene change to the Castle of Lions at Daibazaal.]
Pidge: Okay, all the Lions are in their hangars and their power cores appear to be recharging.
Hunk: Structurally speaking, the Lions are at about sixty percent. Whatever those ships hit them with really did some damage.
Lance: Any luck yet, Princess?
Allura: No. I’m afraid not. I fear that the wormhole may have deposited them beyond my ability’s reach.
Coran: I’ll try to contact some coalition forces to provide assistance. Hm?
Lance: Whoa.
Allura: Coran, what’s happening?
Coran: It appears the castle’s systems are shutting down one by one. It looks as though someone hacked into the ship and let loose a kill protocol of some sort.
Pidge: Have you tried an override?
Hunk: Or maybe counteracting it with a live protocol? Is that a thing?
Coran: The virus is moving too fast.
Pidge: Okay, I’m in the system. Subroutines eight through nineteen have me completely locked out. But if I can just skip ahead... Come on, come on, come on.
Coran: Spectra generator down. Stabilizers are down. Main turbine also down. Crystal matrix offline! Particle barrier generator down!
Pidge: There! I’ve got it isolated. Now I just have to lock it down with a multi-layered tri-tetragonal quarantine. And… Almost… Ha! Yes!
Coran: Well done, Pidge.
Pidge: What? How? The virus has countermeasures that specifically targeted my quarantine! It’s like… it knew.
Coran: If this shuts down the teludav’s mass regulator, the ship, along with everything in the neighboring subsystem, will be destroyed.
Hunk: Uh, where are you going?
Pidge: No time!
[Scene change to the Galra fleet.]
Honerva: Prince Lotor. My son. The anger you feel toward me is to be expected. But understand that the events that transformed me into the witch Haggar also shrouded any glimmer of maternal instinct I may have had for my one and only child. However, you’ve continued the work I started all that time ago and have indeed seen it through to heights I could have only imagined. Your never-ending pursuit of knowledge is truly--
Lotor: Enough. My mother ceased to exist when Honerva drew her last breath. Do not believe for a moment that I would ever accept you as kin. You are an abomination. A twisted perversion of what was once so pure and beautiful. The end is near, witch. I know you can sense it. If you beg for your life now, maybe I will take pity on you when the time comes.
Honerva: Take him away.
Ezor: Did you just kill her?
Zethrid: Are you working with Lotor?
Lotor: I can explain everything, but I assure you she is not dead. If you’re with me, we need to get to the Sincline ships and leave now.
Ezor: Um, sure?
Zethrid: We’re good.
Lotor: Right, then. We’re headed for the Castle of Lions’ last known location.
Acxa: Sir, the wormhole deposited us on the far side of the Thizonian system. We’ll need to make multiple hyperspace jumps and even then, it will take some time.
Lotor: Then what are we waiting for?
[Scene change to Black Lion flying to a grayscale planet.]
Shiro: Hello, Keith.
Keith: Huh?
[Cut to the Castle of Lions.]
Coran: Pidge, what have you discovered?
Pidge: Protocol’s countermeasure. I recognized it.
Lance: Recognized it? How?
Pidge: From the code I scanned from Shiro’s arm while we were looking for Galra installations.
Allura: Wait, are you saying Shiro is responsible for this?
Pidge: Yes.
[Cut to Keith and Shiro on the base of Project Kuron.]
Keith: Shiro, it’s gonna be okay.
Shiro: Yes, I know.
Keith: We just have to get back to the castle.
Shiro: We are not going anywhere!
[Cut back to the Castle of Lions.]
Allura: The teludav, it’s reaching critical mass. Pidge!
Pidge: I know, I know!
Lance: This thing’s about to blow any second.
Hunk: Uh, Pidge, how did you do that?
Pidge: When I was scanning Shiro’s arm, I also made a copy of its programming. I created a virus that could terminate all its command prompts, in case something like this ever happened. I never thought I’d have to use it.
[Cut to Keith and Shiro at the Project Kuron site.]
Shiro: That’s the Keith I remember.
Keith: Shiro, I know you’re in there. You made a promise once. You told me you’d never give up on me.
Shiro: And I should have abandoned you just like your parents did. They saw that you were broken. Worthless. I should’ve seen it, too.
Keith: I’m not leaving here without you.
Shiro: Actually, neither of us are leaving.
Keith: Shiro! Shiro, please. You’re my brother. I love you.
Shiro: Just let go, Keith. You don’t have to fight anymore. By now, the team’s already gone. I saw to it myself. Keith…
[Transition through several flashbacks before settling on one of Keith in the garrison.]
Woman: The only reason this kid is here is because you vouched for him. You need to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
Shiro: Understood. I’ll handle it. Hey.
Keith: Look, I know I messed up. You should just send me back to the home already. This place isn’t for me.
Shiro: Keith, you can do this. I will never give up on you. But more importantly, you can’t give up on yourself.
Summary: In the midst of Sanda’s betrayal of Earth, the Paladins find themselves captive on Sendak’s ship. Meanwhile on the surface, the Galaxy Garrison is scrambling to get the IGF-Atlas airborne to fight Sendak’s fleet.
[Google Doc]
Sam: Where did those shots come from?
Coran: The Zaiforge cannons. Sendak was ready for the attack the entire time. How?
Sam: Where is Admiral Sanda?
Curtis: Sir, she’s been gone since our mission briefing.
Shiro: Paladins, are you there? Paladins, do you copy? Keith? Anyone? Commander Holt, what weapons do we have available?
Sam: Fusion cannons, but that fleet is out of range.
Shiro: What about the MFEs?
Sam: The mission depleted their power. They’re charging now.
Coran: Shiro, even with the MFEs, Sendak has an entire fleet.
Shiro: We need to get them back! We have to do something. What about the Atlas?
Sam: We’ve had zero success launching it.
Shiro: Veronica, monitor the fleet. Let us know of any changes.
Veronica: Yes, sir.
Shiro: Come on, let’s get that ship off the ground.
[Scene change to Keith awakening on Sendak’s flagship.]
Sanda: I delivered you the Lions as you requested. Now it’s time you uphold your end of the bargain. Hand over the Paladins to me and leave Earth.
Sendak: That won’t be happening.
Sanda: We made a deal.
Sendak: Throw her in the brig with the Paladins.
Sanda: No!
Sendak: Continue assault and move the Zaiforge cannons into position.
[Scene change to the computer lab of the Galaxy Garrison.]
Shiro: Anything?
Coran: Not yet. We can shut down all non-essential systems and use an external source to fire one engine.
Sam: We tried that. It wasn’t enough power.
Coran: What about crystals from the MFEs?
Sam: You think that will work?
Coran: Actually, no, scratch that. Far too small. You don’t happen to have any nunvil, do you?
Sam: Nunvil?
[Scene change to the Zaiforge cannons moving over Earth across the globe as Veronica tracks them in mission control.]
Veronica: I’m detecting movement of the Zaiforge cannons.
Iverson: Where are they headed?
Veronica: Based on our projections, the cannons are converging above our location!
[Cut to Shiro, Sam, and Coran in the computer lab of the Galaxy Garrison.]
Shiro: Even with all the power we’ve allocated to it, the particle barrier will never hold against a Zaiforge cannon.
Coran: Wait, that’s it! We can divert power from the shield generator to the Atlas.
Sam: The base would be unprotected, but it’s possible. And it just might work.
Shiro: How much time do we have before the Zaiforge cannons arrive?
Veronica: By our calculations, less than two hours.
Shiro: We have to hurry.
Sam: Veronica, transfer all data from mission control to the Atlas. Commander Iverson, get all personnel aboard this ship immediately.
Iverson: Yes, sir!
[Cut to the MFE pilots standing before the Atlas in the hangar bay.]
Iverson: All personnel, report to Atlas bay immediately. This is not a drill.
Griffin: Commander Shirogane, the MFEs are almost at a hundred percent.
Rizavi: These birds are ready to fly.
Shiro: We need you airborne. We’re shutting down the particle barrier, so we’ll be exposed. That means you’ll be our last line of defense.
Griffin: You can count on us.
Rizavi: No shield?
Leifsdottir: It is our largest source of energy. Losing it will put the garrison at a substantial calculated risk.
[Cut to soldiers scrambling to get the IGF-Atlas loaded as the MFE pilots prepare for launch.]
Griffin: Dynotherms connected.
Rizavi: Megathrusters are go.
[Scene change to Sendak’s flagship, where the Paladins and Sanda are held prisoner in separate cells.]
Keith: Hello? Lance! Hunk! Pidge! Allura! My bayard’s not working.
Lance: I’m here.
Hunk: Yeah, me, too. How long we been out?
Pidge: Looks like we’ve lost about an hour.
Allura: What happened?
Keith: We’re on Sendak’s ship. Admiral Sanda… she sold us out.
Pidge: How could she?
Sanda: He said he’d leave Earth if he had the Lions, but he lied to me. This is all my fault. I wanted to protect my people, but now I’ve doomed them. I’ve doomed them all. I’m so sorry.
Keith: Admiral, what is Sendak’s plan?
Sanda: Sendak is moving the Zaiforge cannons into position. He’s going to destroy Earth. Please, you must know I wanted to save Earth.
[Scene change to the computer lab of the Galaxy Garrison.]
Sam: We’re all set. I’m ready to divert power from the barrier generator.
Coran: Copy that. We’re ready to receive.
[Cut to the bridge of Sendak’s flagship.]
Hepta: Sir, it appears they have lowered their particle barrier.
Sendak: How long until the cannons are charged and in position?
Hepta: One varga.
Sendak: That base has been their only defense. They must be up to something. Send in the closest command. Hit them with everything we’ve got.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Veronica: Comms tower is down!
[Cut to the MFE pilots in their ships.]
Griffin: Rizavi, Kinkade, draw their fire away from the base. Leifsdottir, you’re with me. Hit them hard and hit them quick!
Rizavi: Roger that!
Griffin: Let’s buy our team some time!
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Sam: We got it. It’s charged.
Shiro: Is everyone aboard?
Iverson: The garrison’s cleared. We’re all in.
Shiro: Prepare for launch. No!
[Cut to the MFEs fighting the Galra cruiser.]
Rizavi: Hoo-hoo! They can’t keep up!
Griffin: More fighters incoming! Kinkade, you’ve got two on your six! Leifsdottir, what do you see?
Leifsdottir: Two cruisers, seventy-six fighters, temperate weather patterns, blue skies. The perfect conditions for--
Griffin: No, Leif! Battle evaluation!
Leifsdottir: A variation of a tactical circular formation. They’re protecting the cruisers to allow them more accurate shots.
[Cut to the engine room of the IGF-Atlas.]
Sam: I’ve built a ship that’s useless! It would take the power of several supermassive black holes to get this hunk of metal off the ground.
Coran: That’s it! Why didn’t I think of this before? Of course! Black holes! Infinite mass! It was always right here!
Shiro: Commander Holt, you’re going to want to see this.
[Cut to the MFEs fighting the Galra ships.]
Rizavi: Galra squadron launching from cruiser! Four o’clock high!
Griffin: Rizavi, Kinkade, divert their fire!
Rizavi: Copy!
Griffin: Beginning assault on the inner ship. Leifsdottir, keep drawing their fire. Our base can’t take much more.
Leifsdottir: Yeah, speaking of that, the Galra ship patterns are changing, which means they’re either on the move or, more probable, they’re reconfiguring to adjust for more cruisers. Yep, reconfiguring.
Griffin: How long can we hold them off?
Leifsdottir: With the additional firepower and fighters… twelve minutes.
[Scene change to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Sam: The energy coming off this is incredible.
Coran: The crystal was created after the destruction of the Castle of Lions. It’s an amalgamation of the Quintessence Field collapsing from infinite mass and Altean magic into this tiny thing.
Sam: We need to get it hooked up to the Atlas immediately. This is where I had originally planned to place a Balmeran crystal. It serves as the brains of the Atlas. We’re going to have to figure out some way to accommodate for the difference in size. It will take a feat of engineering to-- I can’t believe it. It’s amazing!
Veronica: Subsystems fully powered.
Curtis: Megathrusters are go!
Shiro: Veronica, monitor the radars, let us know what you see. Commander Iverson, I need you on weapons. And Coran, get the helm.
Coran: Yes, Captain.
Sam: The bridge is yours, Shiro.
Shiro: We could use an engineer.
Sam: Yes, sir.
Veronica: Captain, the Galra fleet is directly over the launch pad.
Shiro: MFE squadron, we need you to clear a path. The Atlas is powered and ready for launch.
[Cut to the MFE squadron in the air.]
Griffin: Copy that, Atlas. Pilots, on me!
[Scene change to the bridge of Sendak’s ship.]
Hepta: Their base should fall momentarily. Sir, something appears to be launching.
Sendak: Destroy it before it’s airborne.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Shiro: Crew, prepare for launch!
Griffin: Welcome to the battle, IGF-Atlas! Clearing a path for you now! MFEs, let’s try these pulse projectiles we’ve been hanging on to.
[Cut to the bridge of Sendak’s ship.]
Hepta: Sir, we’ve been hit with multiple electromagnetic pulses. We seem to have lost all power.
[Cut to the MFE pilots.]
Sam: Nice work, pilots. You’ve temporarily knocked out their systems.
[Cut to the bridge of Sendak’s ship.]
Hepta: Commander, the fleet is unresponsive, and the enemy vessel has gained tactical advantage. What are your orders?
Sendak: Bring us around. Charge the ion cannons.
Hepta: Charging cannons.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Shiro: Iverson, how are the weapons systems coming?
Iverson: Still working on them.
Veronica: Sir, Sendak appears to be positioning to strike from above.
Shiro: Shields at the ready.
Veronica: Yes, sir.
Iverson: We have an ionic discharger online.
Shiro: Lock onto that cruiser. Fire when ready.
[Cut to the Paladins in the prison cells.]
Lance: What was that?
Keith: The garrison is mounting a counterattack.
Pidge: My dad, he launched the Atlas!
[Cut to the IGF-Atlas facing the remaining Galra cruisers.]
Sendak: Jaxar Fleet, stay midrange. Bombard with covering fire. Battle Command Rall, keep them pinned in.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Veronica: Galra cruisers are taking up positions around us.
[Cut to the Paladins in the prison cells.]
Keith: We need to get out there. The Atlas can’t win this fight alone.
Hunk: Guys, I have a thought. Remember how we were able to call the Lions to us on Earth? Well, why can’t we do that now? They might be able to break us out.
Pidge: Calling the Lions to us and having the Lions break us out are two totally different things.
Hunk: I’m not saying it’ll be easy. I-I’m not even saying that it’s possible, but we have to at least be willing to try. Think of our families. Think of Earth.
Keith: Shiro said we’re capable of more than we realize. Maybe it’s worth a shot. Paladins, close your eyes. Connect with your Lions.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Sam: We have a problem in the main engine! The dynotherm connections are weakening.
Shiro: Commander?
Iverson: I’m hitting them with everything we’ve got, but there are just too many of them!
[Cut to the Paladins in the prison cells as they connect with their Lions.]
Sanda: It’s working.
[Cut to the bridge of Sendak’s ship.]
Hepta: Commander, there’s something happening with the Lions.
Sendak: Where are the Paladins?
Hepta: They’re still in their holding cells.
Sendak: This is their doing. Take them out.
Hepta: Vrepit Sa!
[Cut to the Lions escaping unmanned from Sendak’s ship.]
Pidge: The Atlas!
Allura: It’s under heavy fire. They need our help!
Keith: Lions, on me.
[Cut to the prison cells.]
Sanda: Hello! Let me out of here, please! I know about the Earth ship. It has a weakness.
Hepta: What did you say?
Sanda: I helped build that ship. If you were to take me to Sendak, I could tell him where to attack.
Hepta: Take her to Commander Sendak.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Shiro: Sam, what other weapons does this ship have?
Sam: I’m really not sure. Once we added the crystal, this ship gained abilities I never imagined.
Summary: With Earth safe from Sendak’s attempts at destruction, Voltron and Earth’s defenses find themselves facing a wholly new and mysterious enemy unlike any they’ve ever seen.
[Google Doc]
Allura: No!
Keith: Paladins, brace for impact. Hunk, help me with Shiro. Hunk, get Shiro to the Atlas. We’ll cover you.
Hunk: Got it.
Allura: That energy spectrum completely deflected our attack!
Man: We got it from here.
Hunk: Shiro is aboard the Atlas.
Lance: Keith, we got you covered. Get out of there!
Hunk: Anyone have any idea where this thing came from?
Pidge: No clue!
Allura: We just defeated an entire Galra armada, and now this?
Keith: Paladins, I know we’re all in bad shape, but we have strength together. This is Earth. This is our home. We’re going to defend it.
Coran: And we’ll be by your side!
Allura: Good to have you back, Atlas.
[Cut to the IGF-Atlas.]
Veronica: We’ve taken a direct hit. It’s aligning for a second attack.
Shiro: I need to get back.
Medic: But Commander…
[Cut back to Voltron.]
Keith: Atlas, we need you to hold the beast back temporarily so we have time to form Voltron. It’s the only way we’re gonna beat this thing.
Coran: Affirmative.
Keith: Paladins, let’s finish this fight.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Iverson: Coran, what’s our next move?
Coran: Oh! This ship is so different from the Castle of Lions. I… uh--
Shiro: Coran, hold course.
Coran: Oh, thank the ancients you’re here.
Iverson: Captain, are you okay?
Shiro: I’ll be fine. Shields report.
Veronica: They’re at seventy percent!
Shiro: Iverson, the port side cannons.
Iverson: They’re fully charged.
Shiro: Shields down. Fire!
Sam: We lost an energy inverter on two cannons. Diverting power!
Keith: Thanks for covering for us, Atlas.
Shiro: Coran, take us up to covering fire position. Iverson, once those cannons come back online, we’ll need to give Voltron some support.
[Cut to Voltron as they face the white mech.]
Lance: Guys, my bayard port just opened.
Pidge: Mine, too.
Keith: Pidge, shield!
Shiro: Launch fighters!
Griffin: We’re coming in. Covering fire.
Shiro: Paladins, what happened? Are you okay?
Hunk: Those blades, they sapped our energy.
Pidge: It felt like the Komar.
Keith: Pilots, fall back. Those blasts can vaporize you.
Shiro: Keith’s right. You’ve successfully drawn its fire. Rendezvous with the Atlas ASAP.
Griffin: Roger that.
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Veronica: The enemy has turned its attention back to Voltron, sir.
Shiro: Sam, how are those cannons?
Sam: Coming back online now.
Shiro: Fire! Shields up!
Veronica: We’ve lost shields.
Sam: It’s destabilizing the molecular reflection arrays!
Shiro: Pull out of range!
[Cut back to Voltron.]
Pidge: The power this creature is generating is unheard of. My surge indicators are spiking every time it’s about to fire. That sickle absorbed our quintessence. It’s using our own energy to power its attack.
Allura: Like the Komar.
Keith: Then we’ll have to avoid direct contact. Everyone, up!
Hunk: Guys, we need to be careful! There are innocent lives down there.
Keith: Then let’s take the fight to the sky!
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Iverson: We can’t get a clear shot!
Veronica: Rebooting shields! Five minutes out!
Sam: Rerouting power.
[Cut to Voltron.]
Keith: Pidge, the cannon!
Pidge: The Atlas! No!
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Shiro: What’s our status?
Coran: Stabilizing thrusters are gone. I’m attempting to override.
Iverson: The cannons are offline again, all of them.
Sam: Initiating backup generators!
Shiro: No.
Coran: Shiro, the shields are gone and we don’t have any countermeasures! What do we do?
Iverson: Captain, cannons are still offline.
Coran: It’s charging up for another attack! What do we do, Shiro?
Veronica: Shields are offline. Sir, what are your orders?
Iverson: It’s got us in its sights. We have no countermeasures.
Sam: I’m rerouting power, but we’re at least five minutes out!
Shiro: Bring us up. Set coordinates for upper atmosphere.
Coran: But Voltron!
Shiro: Commander Holt, I need all the power we’ve got.
Sam: Copy that.
Shiro: Atlas crew, hold tight!
[Scene change to Voltron and the white mech on Earth.]
Keith: Everyone, report in.
Hunk: I--I can barely move.
Pidge: Voltron’s power levels are depleted.
Allura: I’ve never seen anything this powerful before.
Lance: Guys… Is that… the Atlas?
Shiro: Paladins, are you there? What’s your status?
Keith: We’re here. How did you…?
[Cut to the bridge of the IGF-Atlas.]
Shiro: I’m not exactly sure, but we’ve got you covered.
Veronica: Hostile returning for another pass.
Shiro: Get me eyes on the target.
[Cut to Voltron.]
Lance: We have to do something. It’s gonna destroy the Atlas.
Keith: That’s it. It’s the only place on that thing that isn’t armored. We have to strike there right before it fires.
Allura: That’s a split-second window. How do we do that?
Lance: My bayard.
Keith: Team, we’ve got one chance. Give it everything you’ve got! Lance!
Hunk: Anyone? Hello?
Pidge: I’m here.
Keith: I’m here, too.
Allura: Blue Lion, checking in.
Lance: Did we do it? Did we beat that thing?
Keith: I think so. Atlas, what’s your status? Atlas, are you receiving me? They’re offline.
Lance: What is that?
Pidge: Surge indicators coming from that thing.
Lance: I thought it was down.
Hunk: It is. Oh, no.
Lance: What?
Hunk: It’s powering up. It must have some kind of self-destruct mechanism.
Pidge: According to my readings, the blast radius alone will envelope half of the earth.
Keith: Then we need to get it out of here. Come on! Come on! It’s been an honor to fly with you all. Now, everyone, give it everything you’ve got!
[Scene change to outside the Galaxy Garrison some time later.]
Shiro: Today is a solemn day. Today, we look back at the lives that have been lost, and the sacrifices that have been made here on Earth and across the universe. There isn’t one of us here today who hasn’t experienced the tragedy of losing someone close. It truly feels like a light has gone out in our lives and the sun itself couldn’t reignite it. But that light, that fire, has not gone out completely. It is fueled within each of us by the memories and the love of those we’ve lost. And now we must move forward in their names. And shine that light onto a new path for future generations. Today is a solemn day, but it is also a day of hope. Earth is now stronger than ever, and it stands as a beacon of light to help guide those fighting against tyranny and oppression. From here, we will spread peace, and together we will hold strong as the defenders of the universe.
[Scene changes through various shots of Earth rebuilding, and then transition to the recovery of the white mech.]
Sam: As you know, we’ve spent months recovering the pieces of this creature, but we never found its power source until now.
