It’s a long weekend here in the US and I’m so excited!! I leave tomorrow to go back home which is both sad and exciting. I’m definitely not ready to go back to work though! Today is day 11 in the Rage challenge and is all about new characters in a series. One new spin off series that I am loving is Vortex Visions!! I LOVED Elise’s Air Awakens series and this new series is proving no different!! Vi, the main character, is the Princess of Solaris but was raised in another part of the country. Not only is she trying to find out who she is as heir to the empire but also how to control her magical powers that never seem to work the way they should. Book number 4 comes out in October and I am definitely NOT patiently waiting for it to be released!!! “We will write our own fate” - Chosen Champion . . 🌟QOTD: What is your favorite bookstagram prop? . . Happy Saturday everyone!! Obviously my favorite props are flowers but this watch from @faecrate is a close second!! I’m working the next two days but I just had to post my review of Elise Kova’s second book in the Vortex Chronicles, Chosen Champion!! Big thank you to Elise for this ARC!! I finished this bad boy so fast and now I’m ready for book 3...even though book 2 doesn’t come out till May 1st!! I guess I’ll just have to stare at it’s gorgeous cover until then to satisfy me!! My full review is up on the blog but here is a short summary: . ⚡️ Lightspinning is the coolest magic EVER and I love seeing more of it in book 2 .
⚡️ A lot more background information and scene setting but still a fast-paced read .
⚡️ Elise leaves me breathless with all the plot twists and turns and that betrayal...seriously had to remember to breath at points . . I’ve kept my review spoiler free for this book but there are probably spoilers for the first book!! Check out my review of the first book if you haven’t read it yet!! I absolutely love this series and being back in the Air Awakens world!! If you didn’t know already it will release on Feb 4th but the physical copies are set for Feb 3rd!! I had very little room in my suitcase but I knew this was one book I had to bring with me to Australia!!! I cannot wait to take some gorgeous photos with it out here!! I may have to interrupt the new theme for some outdoor photos again!! If you haven’t preorder this book yet there is still plenty of time (Amazon and Book Depository both have the book for sale!!). I can not recommend this book enough it was such a compelling storyline with brilliant world building and a new facet of magic that blew me away!!! Happy Sunday friends!! It’s been a very busy last two nights at work so I’m VERY glad for the next two days off!! I have some more photos/a cosplay to do and then I got to make Fourth of July cards for the tiny humans! I’m super excited!! I absolutely LOVE finding little easter eggs in books!! Jay Kristoff absolutely loves hiding little things in his books but this series by Elise had soooo many that connected back to the original Air Awakens series. I loved reading through these books and being like wait wait that was THIS?!? It was so much fun to notice all the tiny details and I cannot believe how planned out everything was from the very first Air Awakens book!! Do you have any favorite Easter eggs in books?! . .
