“I … can’t tell you with absolute certainty but in my eyes and according to history and religion, it is possible, yes. 'Even the greatest of sinner will eventually find forgiveness in the course of his own actions — or an angels arms.' At least that’s what I’ve read out from one of those many, many books back at the tower. That line really caught my attention and was stuck in my mind ever since. All you need is enough willpower, conviction and perhaps a little bit of … belief as well and all your hardships should be conquerable.”
There's a brief, condescending snort to her words, not to be mistaken for merriment, however because the things she said did seem to hold something truthful. Something he may couldn't work with entirely but it's at least something to start with. The part about 'beliefs' and whatnot sure did amuse him a lot, though. More than it probably should.
❝ Religion and History. Yea right. As if any of this bullshit's ever truly been useful. Ya can pray and believe in angels and almighty ghost-like figures all ya want, kid. Won't change a thing about the wrongs you've committed. Nothing good ever happens all by itself. ❞
