Want to look like a VS Angel?

I am constantly looking for inspiration for new and interesting make up looks to try out but one place that I always find myself coming back to for inspiration is the Victorias Secret runway shows. The girls always have such glowing luminous skin, sexy eyes and feminine glossy lips.

I think most girls would jump at the chance to look like one of the Victorias Secret girls but trying to get their make up look may seem a little daunting. I wanted to prove to you that it’s not really that hard to recreate and not only that but it is a really wearable look that would look good on anyone. So, I created a tutorial that shows you how to get the VS Angel look in just nine simple steps. You can find the video tutorial in the Video section of my website but here is a little more information about the products I used and how to apply them:

Step 1

The base needs to be luminous and dewy. I used one of my favorite drugstore finds the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation to create this glowing skin finish and I  applied it with my new favorite brush by It Cosmetics called Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection. This is a great brush for lightly buffing the foundation into the skin and gradually building your desired coverage.

Step 2

You want the brows to look full but pretty natural. I used the Brow Power Universal Brow pencil by It Cosmetics. It’s great because it can be used on any hair shade and it has a spooly brush on the other end to groom the brows. Resist the temptation to draw them on too heavily as this will look a little over the top with the rest of the make up in this look.

Step 3

For the eyes and the cheeks I used the amazing Glow palette by Anastasia of Beverly Hills. Starting with the lightest champagne shade as a base I then built up color in the socket using the medium bronze shades and wing the shadow out to the side. I then used the deepest bronze shade around the eyes as a soft liner. Another great tip for that wide eyed look is to apply the champagne shade in the inner corner of the eyes and a little under the eyes.

Step 4

To create the sexy dark liner look I started by lining the eyes with a little kohl pencil by drugstore brand Rimmel and then smudged it into the lashes using a smudging brush. Then I used my current favorite liquid liner pen from Illamasqua. Using the kohl line as a guideline I started with a thin line close to the lashes across the whole of the lid. Then I built it out in a winged shape. You can go as bold as you dare to go with this step. Something that I think is important to remember when you’re using liquid liner is don’t be afraid to make mistakes. You can always clean up with a cotton bud and concealer.

Step 5

After curling my lashes I added a few coats of my favorite volumising mascara to create really sexy bold lashes. I used the Voluminous Butterfly effect mascara. It’s a great one for volume and also creating a nice winged shape in the outer corner of the eyes. To make this eye even stronger there is always the option to add false lashes if you like.

Step 6

Next up it’s finally concealer time. I just discovered this new one from Sephora. It’s a gel concealer and it’s a great formula that provides a good coverage but doesn’t crease. I used it in a shade slightly lighter than my foundation to highlight under the eye area. This is also a good time to apply any additional concealer anywhere you feel you need it.

Then you want to powder your face before we start contouring. I used the Cinema Secrets Soft Custard setting powder. This is a great shade that looks good on nearly every skin tone and mutes redness and under eye circles simultaneously.

Step 7

It wouldn’t be the Victorias Secret look without adding contour and highlight to the face. Using the same Glow Palette by Anastasia I worked the deepest bronze shade underneath my cheekbones. Instead of applying a definite line I recommend gradually blending the product with a soft blending brush like the Luxie brush and working the powder up into the cheekbones in a soft circular motion. Next I used the light champagne shade above the cheekbones blending up to the outer sides of the face. This is great pro make up trick to subtly slim the face. I also like to apply a little down the bridge of the nose and on the cupids bow for fuller looking lips. Next using a blush brush I swirled a little pink blush into the apples of the cheeks. I used a powder to creme blush from Drew Barrymore’s line Flower in the shade Tickled Pink.

Step 8

Finally use your favorite pink shiny gloss to finish off the look. I used the Kristofer Buckle Luxury Lipgloss in Starlet. I like to add a little extra gloss in the centre of the lips to make the lips appear fuller and add extra shine.
