Leo looks at Nico in disbelief.

'You seriously ate all the pie.'

'You pies are heavenly' Nico mutters with a blush on his face, but Leo only sighs and opens the cupboard to take out another pumpkin pie.

'I know. So I made two, but I didn't think we will actually need both.'

He looks around the living room and wills the light of the candles to blow out. 'We can go.'

'Wait a sec' Nico rushed to the door and turns off the porchlight, and closes the door. 'I can't wait to see Hazel and everyone.'

'It will be nice to see them' Leo smiles and takes his hand. The next moment they are gone, melted into the shadows, to meet their friends.

A Very Valdangelo Halloween

'Are we seriously doing this?' Nico asks as he looks around the living room. No, he still can't believe this, no matter that the whole house smells of pumpkin pie that Leo is just taking out of the oven, and the marigolds, and the small altar they built together for the wandering ghosts to eat from, so it's a weird mix between a ofrenda and the altars Nico usually uses. He feels the presence of some dead guests, but they are cannot harm anyone today, Nico made sure of it.

So it's Halloween, their first since they have moved together, and Leo's face is painted to look like a skull, and they have a big bowl of candies next to the door.

'Yes.' Leo kisses his cheek. 'It will be awesome and we worked too much on this whole thing to change your mind now.'

'I didn't even dress up properly' Nico murmurs, and that's not exactly true, because he is... well, Leo loves it all, especially the waistcoat, and the whole victorian-gothic look is just something that fits Nico like a second skin - and maybe that's Nico's problem, because it's only a bit fancier than his everyday look.

'Hazel will love it. I love it. Now, will you turn on the porchlight?'

You are standing outside the big, Victorian house, and it seriously looks haunted, with all the carved pumpkins and the spiderwebs, and the little skeleton animals, but the porchlight is on, and you have seen the two young men living there before. You have to take a deep breath before you push the bell.

Ding dong.
