All these amazing W.O.C. to look up to now, I'm so happy.
As I've become more and more enlightened and educated on the current and prevalent racial issues around the world, and particularly in the US. I kept on feeling bad and like I didn't have a place to get upset about the issues because I'm white and white people are the issue, but I see now that me being upset about injustices for other people isn't something that should be repressed, but embraced. And that I should use my white privilege to help those that weren't born into the situation I was.
I guess my point of this post is that I would like to know what I could do as a white female to help bring about enlightenment of the still very prominent racism and help bring about equality for everyone. Right now, the best I could think of is to not ignore it and blow the whistle and reblog/post about things that are racist (or harmful) particularly from the view of the oppressed.
also, cause I know that it's not my place to jump in on a women of color rally or anything like that, I feel like I'd be intruding and taking away their power and their voice, but I just want to know if there is anything more I can do to help turn up the volume a little bit or perhaps use my privilege for good...
that was kind of all over the place.. sorry. end rant.
