Loretta - a summer-friendly classic coord with Bodyline’s floral OP! I think lace gloves would have been the perfect touch, but it’s difficult to find good quality gloves locally; plus it looks kind of silly when everyone else is all but melting in the heat.

Thoughts on l585, below the cut.

I don’t have a lot of OPs from Bodyline, just three so far- but the sizing seems fairly accurate. The main fabric is a heavy textured polyester, side zip, grosgrain ribbon and detachable waist ties. It is a little baggy on me around the underbust and waist area, as with BL’s size M in general. Corset lacing would ensure a better fit, but this fabric is so heavy it might be hard to add a shirring/lacing panel. The gold lace is a bit rough, but then that’s a given for gold lace. It’s not ugly looking, and suits the colors of the dress.

Downsides -

The collar fall doesn’t lie perfectly flat. It’s not an ironing issue. It might be that the pattern is off or the fabric wasn’t cut correctly and so won’t fall properly. The sleeves are also very poofy; some people may not like that bit. They’re not at all constrictive when wearing the dress however, so you can move freely!

For the price I paid (BL sale) it’s a very good buy. OPs aren’t the most versatile pieces, but in the heat of summer, wearing just one or two layers is a godsend.

Meria - it is now entering high summer. It is not hot enough to bake in, but only just- and the end is nigh. The weatherman said that parts of the country will hit 41°C tomorrow; joy to the world, I am sure.

A while ago, there was a thread on Rufflechat about wearing lolita in summer. Since our seasons are ‘you go to the beach’ and ‘the beach goes to you’ (aka typhoon) I put in my two cents, summarized below.

Lace shawls are the saving grace of summer. Lighter and more airy than blouses or boleros, they’re the next best thing to actually going blouseless. When it hits 41 here, I probably won’t bother with a blouse or wig at that point, but since shoulders are rather ~scandalous~ shawls are great.

Lace tights and ankle socks let more air through than typical tights/OTKs. And on the subject of underwear, I strongly recommend a petticoat or underskirt with a cotton/linen slip. Tulle and summer sweat make a most unpleasant combination, and cotton/linen blends are the most gentle fabric I can suggest.

Rose Chain - a chimera of two WIPs I've posted before, this floral dress and sash detail cribbed from this post, but with a thinner sash.

Photos aren't great quality, but I needed to get to work. xD I usually prefer long sleeves (despite the tropical weather) but I found that this works better when it is simply styled.

Hi! I'm planning on getting my first wig soon. I'm hoping to buy Bodylines W049 in the same colour as the stock photo, but I'm having trouble deciding which colour that is. I think it might be a separate because it's got blonde highlights, but I'm not really sure. Could you please help me guess which colour I should be buying? Thank you!

I think it's Separate2-10 but I can't be entirely sure. If anyone happens to have this wig and would be able to tell us that would be great!
