Brian’s parents were rich and he was an only son, and he grew up knowing only love from the nannies and not the parents. He acted out trying to get their attention but after he spent his entire childhood trying to get their attention and they absolutely did not bother, he gave up deciding that he was just not bothered anymore even though it affected him deeply. He instead focused on himself, becoming a pilot and most of his adult life afterwards flying back and forth between Wakefield and many places around the globe. He dated Piper during a lot of this time but making both their busy schedules work was nearly impossible and they both decided to end it as it was clearly getting nowhere for them. It was during one of his visits that he got drunk and slept with Sadie, who he really didn’t get along with in the first place, but on his next visit he found that she was pregnant with his child and insisted that he wanted to help. He wanted to be present for his child unlike his parents and so he quit his job and took up a part time one at CHS Flight School, and with years passing the two have fallen into a decent co-parenting schedule and he made his work schedule work accordingly.

Amber was born to Gideon and Tiffany, but as far as Amber knew, she only had one parent and it was her father. Then there was the woman who called herself her mother, often coming back into her and her dad’s life simply to ruin it a little bit. Ever since she was a little kid, Amber loved her dad with all her heart. Even if sometimes he was busy with his job, he made time for her and was always there for her while her mother was the complete opposite and only showed when she pleased. The older she got, the more she wished the woman never showed because even in that age she could see how miserable her father was with her. Her prayers seemed to have been finally answered and while she was around 14, her dad began to date another woman whom Amber adored. Amber began to think that she would take the huge void Tiffany had created for her father as well as her, but sadly it didn’t last and Amber gave up hopes that anyone would fill the empty space of mom in her life. It was when she was 16 that her father got full custody of her and she was overjoyed, and moving mak to Wakefield to her family felt like the change they both needed in their lives. Tiffany was never heard from again and after finishing school, Amber switched around with a few jobs, finally settling as an attendant at Insert Coin, glad that both she and her dad were far away from their past.

Born the only child of Mingyu & Chen Jiang, Nuwa was a happy child and was doted on by both her parents. While people assumed she’d be lonely as an only child, she wasn’t considering her parents were both her best friends and even without them, he had Mikey who’s family Nuwa’s was very close to. She wasn’t the most extroverted kid but she made enough friends that she never felt alone.

Her life changed completely when her parents along with Mikey’s died in an accident, the happy girl turning into an orphan in a split second. Apart from the grief, she was also scared about what was going to happen to her but Mikey’s grandma graciously welcomed her into her home when she took in Mikey and she is grateful to her and Mikey for not abandoning her to this day. 

She grew up learning to cook as it was one thing her parents and she always did together, and while she took up many jobs as a young girl, starting to work at Lucky Wok just felt right and she didn’t think of doing anything else since. 

She didn’t date much and when she did, none of it really stuck and in her mid-twenties she began dating Mikey because they both felt like it made sense that they should give it a shot. To both their surprise it did go well even if Nuwa wasn’t sure if this is what romance was supposed to be like but she did feel safest and most comfortable with him. 

So when she got pregnant and they decided to have the baby, marriage followed and so did another kid except it always felt like something was missing and so they divorced three years ago to give each other a fair chance to find true love. Mikey got the house next door and they worked out the smoothest divorce and co-parenting plan. 

It wasn’t till after that she began to miss having him in her life the way she had and while the whole point had been to date other people, Nuwa didn’t try to as her heart really wasn’t in it. Realizing she probably made a mistake, the pair has decided to try again but haven’t let the kids know just yet for they both want to see where it takes them before telling anyone except their closest friends.

TW accident, death, drink driving.

Till Jadah was 10, it was just Jadah and her dad. She had never known her mother, who was someone her dad had met while traveling and on having her, she contacted him, gave Jadah to him and neither of them ever saw her again. She knew her dad's roots were in Wakefield but that was all she knew. He didn't have a family and they didn't stay in one place and even though she had been young, she could still remember how much she loved her father and how much she loved meeting new people everyday and going new places. When she was 10, and she and her dad made it to Philadelphia, they were in a car accident, her waking up from a coma hours later to the news that her father had died, they had been hit by a drunk driver. Suddenly the bright and carefree girl had nobody, and she was put in foster care, placed soon after with the Vargas family. She hated it there at first, she missed her father but she she had no choice but to accept the life that was given to her. She soon realized how lucky she was to get this life, and began to be grateful to her new dads and the other kids in the family who she soon began seeing as siblings. She knew adoption was on the table but didn't go for it as she wanted to keep the bond she had with her father. As soon as she was eighteen and graduated, she began to travel like she and her dad used to, but she did make sure she kept coming back home to her family in Wakefield.

Lydia has a happy childhood with a happy family, and even though she was a lone child she grew up with a bunch of friends and loads of love. She was 12 when her father fell ill, and 13 when he died, and after that her mother just wasn't the same. Unable to handle the grief, the woman took her daughter and moved away, settling in Brighton where Lydia suddenly had to cope not only with the loss of her father and her mother turning into a whole new person but had to begin a whole new life by herself. Making friends was hard when she was grieving but she did her best, not many stuck apart from Allison in her younger years but with time she grew back into the happy person she used to be. She made sure she visited her grandfather atleast once every year, sometimes with Allison's brother, Adam. Her grandfather used to own The Winchester bar before he handed the reigns over to Marietta considering her mom never wanted to come back. It was recently that her mother got engaged and while she was happy for her and loved her new family, she felt more like an outsider now and decided to go back to Wakefield, this time for good, finding a job there and yet again, starting a new life but with her old friends in town as well as Allison and Adam, it didnt feel all that daunting.

Born into a strict family and the only child, Lili’s life was miserable and the only thing she did was follow the rules set for her. It only got worse when her mother who had a miserable marriage of her own left her father when she was 17. She couldn’t even blame the woman for leaving her. After high school, she went to study medicine in Chicago with her cousin Esme, but her father saw that as giving her too much freedom, so then moved to Wakefield to get married at 23 to a man of her father’s choosing who treated her terribly. She completed her studies in Charleston and began to work there. When she was 26, her father died from heart failure which led to her being truly free for the first time in her life and she filed for a divorce immediately and quit her job. Her ex-husband as well as father’s brother tried to take control of her life and her father’s wealth but she didn’t let it happen, instead getting a lawyer to kick them out of her life and choosing to live life to the fullest now that she had the freedom to be.
