Walk Audit Recap

Thanks to everyone who attended our March 15 walk audit around West River Memorial Park -- especially to Mayor Justin Elicker, Economic Development Administrator Michael Piscitelli, City Engineer Giovanni Zinn, and the other City officials who joined us. We are deeply committed to improving access to our open spaces and green spaces, not just for the benefit of the Peace Garden but also for West River Memorial Park across the boulevard, and for the safety of the families who will shortly be living at Curtis Cofield Estates and other families already living in the West River and Hill North communities.

#perlesaerie Before and after. After a long day at the Walking Summit Symposium today at which we did 2 walking audits it’s nice to just sit and colorize the drawing I did early this morning. My iPhone health app says I logged 8600 steps around 4 miles (hot muggy miles) during the walks. There’ll be only 1 walk audit tomorrow so maybe 2000 steps. I think Mayor Woodfin is coming tomorrow to get some of our input. Looking forward.
