Super Bloom by Joits
aniab
For those of you who are not following the news around california this year the LA area experienced an unprecedented amount of rain, in turn causing a sprout of the wildflowern#SUPERBLOOM, poppies in particular have been drawing crowds to the Lake Elsinore/Walker Canyon. The crowds as big as 50,000 people in ONE DAY! Some of the news headlines: ‘Nothing can deter throngs from enjoying super bloom in Lake Elsinore’, ‘Want to see the poppy super bloom at Lake Elsinore? Brace yourself for large crowds and long lines’. ‘Social Media Drives Super Bloom ‘Apocalypse’ in California’, ‘California's Super Bloom Even Looks Beautiful From Space’, ‘Super bloom tourists cause small town 'safety crisis'’. If there was ever FOMO to be had this is it. The sight is incredible and completely surreal! I’ve seen wildflowers before but this truly is a gift from mother nature!

Pointy and I visited the super bloom in Lake Elsinore, Walker Canyon! It was absolutely beautiful! The hills looked like they’d been painted orange, with some splotches of purple and yellow. It was very worth braving the poppy traffic apocalypse for! (Seriously, it was bad. 3 hours just to leave!)
