Genre: Indie Pop/Synth Pop/Pop Rock
Set list:

2 - Leave It's Over
3 - Had It All
4 - Kick
5 - When You Were Young (The Killers Cover)
6 - New Track
7 - Perfect
The Sydney based Indie Pop Rock duo delivered a charming and spirited performance all through out their set. They played 5 out of 5 songs that can be heard on their debut EP, "Proof". Holland delivered a great vocal with his sweet yet commanding voice on all tracks starting with "Hold Tight" which is one of their more uplifting and upbeat tracks on the EP, with it's honest and comforting chorus lyrics, "You can change what you say till it's gone away, Hold Tight this will all go your way". The next tracks performed were "Leave, It's Over" & "Had it All" which are two of the more darker, broodier songs of the EP but still keep an upbeat tempo. Both songs are the boys take on heartbreak and relationships gone wrong, on the track "Had it all" you hear a different slightly darker and soft side to Holland's voice. The 4th song performed was, "Kick" which entails the same upbeat feel as the other songs and is one of the more lyrically uplifting songs in the EP. For their 5th song the boys take on a cover of "When you Were Young" by The Killers. When talking about the Killers, Brandon Flowers and the rest of the boys have some big shoes to fill, though Holland and Commandeur didn't reach the level of The Killers they still delivered a stellar performance of the song. For the next song, the boys performed an unreleased track which gives us a hint that we can expect another set of different tracks from their first full album, as the song is more mid tempo compared to the others and has a more mysterious and cryptic facade in terms of the lyrics with the chorus going "Be strange but don't be a stranger". Finally, saving their most popular song thus far and first lead single, the duo performed "Perfect" which is easily the most romantic and catchy song on the EP and the boys delivered a very energetic and effortless performance.
Definitely, a great over all set by Colour Coding and hopefully we all get to see more of them in the future with new material. Over all the boys have a collection of catchy, upbeat Indie Synth Pop-Rock songs in their repertoire and are definitely worth the listen.

Wanderland 2013: Part I
WOOOOHOOO, yeah first and foremost if you are a follower of my Twitter you know that I am not supposed to go to Wanderland, and I am bitter about it(bitter means me bragging about things, that only my friends know). But since a MIRACLE happened, miracle means really a MIRACLE, when God sent an awesome band here on Earth yes they're those people, and I am so glad that they know my name already, and I am so glad to meet them. *ahhh insert super happy and in-love face here*
Anyway too much for those things I must now start for the event itself! (All photos were taken with my iPod Touch only, since I promised myself to be a concert person, not a photographer that time haha!)
Wanderland is the first music and arts festival in the country, and all thanks to the Karpos Multimedia for making this event totally possible! Because as a lover of indie bands I've been waiting for this kind of event long-long time ago, and it may be a compliment, but Wanderland is also said to be like a mini-Coachella(well let's see maybe I can testify it sooner or later). However in all this event is really really fun, and magical at the same time.
The event started with 4 local indie bands, and as a Filipino, you may say that SHAME ON ME for not knowing all those local bands, but I guess I have to catch up soon with them, and listen and support their music.
Taken by Cars started Wanderland 2013.
Followed by Pulso, which I guess I'm wandering around that's why I didn't get to have a chance to take a photo of them.
The third band is She's Only Sixteen, and as for my observation the screaming girls really showed up with their set.
Yolanda Moon is the fourth local band to perform, and I may say that they are the band that I really enjoyed. Since I'm a big sucker for that kind of music.
Then minutes later, an international-handsome-Australian duo started, and you'll see that they really started well since they got the attention of the crowd easily. I knew Colour Coding through a friend, and since I attended their meet and greet I knew some of their songs already besides "Perfect"(WHICH IS REALLY GREAT). Besides their originals like Hold Tight, Kick and a lot more, they also covered a The Killers song entitled "When We Were Young" that I guess the crowd really enjoyed.
Avalanche City totally nailed it! Well I'm really not that a big fan of them(since the only song I know that they played is Love Love Love and Sunset), but after hearing them live, I totally loved them already! Yes, I really love their folk style, and their versatility, all of them are really versatile. And as a (partly)feminist I'm really proud of Romelli Rodriguez(violin) who's really great. In all I really loved their performance, and their music and presence made me love them a lot.
Oh and yes I got Dave's(vocalist) guitar pick! :)
Next band is a part of my MOST AWAITED BANDS for Wanderland. Since the time I watched "Naked"(yes I do watched Naked first before Stay), I said that I am really thrilled and is really expecting a lot from Tully on Tully. And what I got is that they really exceeded my expectations. From the part of Natalie being charming and all, up to them waking the crowd up. Also Tully on Tully made the crowd dancing, which was really cool!
And hell yeah(according to Tully on Tully themselves) I got Pete's(the cool pianist guy) towel! lol.
Lastly before my part 2(slash the most awaited bands part), I may say that I am so proud with Up Dharma Down, a local band(yes shame on me again that I don't know any of their songs, don't kill me UDD fans), for being a part of the international bands line-up for the event. And yeah it's my first time hearing their song and them playing live, and I may say now that I am now a fan. Armi Millare's voice is really powerful.

Wanderland 2013: New Discoveries
Last weekend, I attended the very first indie music arts & festival in the Philippines. What excites me about these things other than lying under the sun with a beverage in hand while listening to music is the chance to discover new artists and to see my favorite ones live.
One of the bands that caught my attention is the duo from Australia, Colour Coding. My friends were fans and it only took awhile for me to get the rundown of who they are and what their popular song is.
Let me start you off with their EP, Proof. Each track exudes playfulness and adoring lyrics about young love. My favorite tracks are Hold Tight & Perfect.
You can change what you say 'til it's all gone away, oh- hold tight this will all go your way cause you'll never change one thing that's how you feel.
Recommended to fans of: Capital Cities, Atlas Genius and The Naked & Famous
Up next is Tully on Tully which sounds like a mutation of Ida Maria and Florence + The Machine. With progressive beats that is reminiscent of Dog Days Are Over but still maintaining a mysterious aura. Tully on Tully will surely keep you on your toes. Here's Naked, a captivating single from the Australian crooner, Natalie Foster.
All I can give you is all that I’ve got I’ve got nothing to hold you away from the dark if you leave

Moving on to the two local favorites I've discovered. I have a confession, I rarely listen to OPM. My bestfriend from highschool and I made a silly pact during our freshman year to avoid listening to local music due to the emergence of copycats doing bad acoustic covers of popular songs which is still prevalent. This had consequences because I missed out on amazing artists such as Up Dharma Down & She's Only Sixteen. Seeing these bands live prove that I should open up to listening to local bands whose lyrics (in my mother tongue) is so heartfelt and rings true to the heart.
She's Only Sixteen was introduced to me by my Brazilian friend months before the festival. Imagine my surprise when he said they are a local band that sounds like The Strokes. Of course, I jumped right in. They had such a fire-y set which started with this song, Dying To Meet You.
I’m singing this song in hopes that will be Holding hands again, no need to pretend, time will help us mend, I love you till the end.
Up Dharma Down's music is clearly made for my heart. I swear I thought I would cry when I first heard Tadhana live. It has #feels written all over it. The emotion evoked in Filipino just had more impact than I would ever imagine. Their lyricism blew me away and I got caught up listening to their entire discography this week which is probably why it took me awhile to finish this write-up. Listen to the live version of Tadhana & Oo below.
Bakit di pa sabihin Ang hindi mo maamin Ipauubaya na lang ba 'to sa hangin
I'm looking forward to the next festival just to discover new artists to share with you guys.
