They’d heard of the bonds that could be made with animals, loyal companions, though they’d never experienced it themselves..On second thought, gaster was pretty cat-like, even compared to some of the actual cat-monsters. Did that count? A friend? A warmth spread in their soul, their face bubbling and coloring in a teal blush. “Thank you. Y_.” They cut themselves of as wallock escorted the bunny woman and child into the tent.

“If there aren’t anymore, they’ll simply patrol and set up watch posts around the village.” They sat down with her. “Gaster is a good general. He wouldn’t send the troops into unnecessary danger.” They couldn’t assure that casualties wouldn’t happen. Humans were strong and persistent. The village was quiet for the most part. Troops were partied up and sent to patrol. Gaster took a party of his own to the bakery. They found a small group of humans holed up in there; rats hiding in the cracks. Something still felt off.

They would have smiled back if they could. Missing a lower jaw was a bit burdensome at times, though their eyelights shown brightly.

Wallock's purr got a bit louder, accompanied with a pleased hum. The scar was much more emotionally sensitive than anything. If anything, physically it was numb, dead flesh, atleast on the surface.

“I did.” Thankfully. A night without their armor on had also done them some good. They felt refreshed. And they hadn’t even wet the bed, if their body hadn’t absorbed it. No, Gaster would have pushed them out of the bed if they’d got him wet. Thank the stars neither of them had had a nightmare either. There had been enough flashbacks last night... “The bedding is hanging to dry by the way.”

River woke a few hours after turning in, only to catch Gaster's eyelight in the darkness. They had tensed, but quickly relaxed, used to the feel of his magic. He was soon walking back out.

The lich checked on Allegro next, though he might return to river anyways. He was a bit surprised to have found his lieutenant out of their armor, but they'd been wearing it for however long. It would need cleaned, and the cloak sewn if his memory served him right.

@cupcakeandkisses Gaster pounced. River dodged a little too late. Claws tore through fabric, but met metal plating and chainmail. Gaster skidded in the dirt, but launched again once he gained grounding. With a twist and a grab of the angered beast's wrist, river had flipped him, leaving him sprawled and stunned for a moment. River took advantage of the lapse; a flor of dark fabric and the lich was blinded. He struggled to find an exit before slowly settling. Her safety was more important than saving face. They hoped she wouldn't be to perturbed. They were a ghastly sight if they were to say so themselves. The axial part of a skeleton monster surrounded by water. Some amalgamation of a skeleton monster and a water elemental. Monsters were all mixed and unique, sure, but the top of their skull and their mandible were also missing. They were of course clad in chain mail, leather, and some parts of an armored suit, but that didn't do much for their face.

“W-What?..Wait was that a human?! What’s it doing in town? Allegro, no human is safe, even children. I’ve seen it myself; a single child almost eradicated a whole town, wearing a simple pair of leather gloves.” Wallock was heading back, scouting around on his way, the dark doing nothing to impede him. He stopped at the sight of the child, breath catching and pupils dilating. An angered roar sounded through half the town.

River took a step, but stopped. It had been a long night, and it had to be the early hours of the morning by now. “Allegro…I do apologize for everything that has happened tonight and for us to impose so. Go rest. I will find Gaster.” They could handle an all-nighter easily, but they had to remember that the little baker was just that, a civilian, unused to the chaos of battles and demands of the life of a soldier.
