The Warblettes !
my photo
These are just some of my other CEC reboot characters. I just picked the ones I can talk more about. I’ll post the rest in a separate post.
Ight Imma explain these guys to you.
Betty Baker - In my version Betty is Pasqually’s next door neighbor (and also his love interest). She still has her cooking show “Baking With Betty”. I designed her with a headcanon voice in mind which is Wendie Malick. Betty is very kind and motherly. She’s a mother figure to Chuck E. and his friends. She does have a sassy side to her. That side of her only comes out when Chuck E’s being smart with her.
Harmony Howlette - She’s a cowgirl and a farmer. She’s the one who gives Pasqually his ingredients for his pizzas. She also develops a crush on Foxica later on. She’s chill but extremely sarcastic and tough. She loves getting a rise out of Chuck E. She even joins in on Jasper’s teasing. She lives on a farm with her parents and her pet frog named Marmalade.
Chloe, Zoe, and Wilma Warblette - In my version the Warblettes are antagonists. They’re social media influencers who trend hop and don’t make original content. They gossip about Chuck E’s Pizza Time Band because they’re jealous of their fame and they wish they were as talented as them. However, Chuck and his pals will soon show them that they really are talented. They just don’t know it yet.
Mike Wolf - Mike heard about CEC Entertainment closing and he wants to cash in on their legacy. He desperately tries to stop Chuck E. and his friends from performing but he always fails miserably. He’s very cheap and uncreative. He only cares about money. Just like Betty, I drew him with a headcanon voice in mind. My headcanon voice for Mike is David Cross (Yes Ian Hawke lol I mainly used him as inspiration).
Chuck Bot - Chuck Bot is a cheap knockoff of Chuck E. Cheese who claims to be superior to the original Chuck E. Because Mike didn’t want to spend a lot of money making him, Chuck Bot breaks down very easily. His voice sounds just like Chuck E’s except that his voice is very monotone and robotic. He also sings very badly.
Dollie Dimples, The King, and Madame Oink - I rewrote Halloween at the PTT. Instead of just “Hahaha Chuck E’s in FNAF” I gave it an actual story. The old PTT in the creepy haunted woods is completely abandoned due to an incident that occurred back in the early 80s. The Chuck E. animatronic got a very bad computer virus and malfunctioned. He then turned evil and held Dollie, The King, and Madame Oink captive. The designs you see are how they look after Chuck saves the, and they live newer, better lives. Dollie becomes a hairdresser, The King becomes a performer in Las Vegas, and Madame Oink opens a cafe where she shares her poetry.
[ID: a drawing of one of the warblettes in a more anthropomorphic style. she's standing next to a window with her head tilted upwards and her eyes closed. she's wearing a purple sleeveless dress, golden hoop earrings, and a pearl necklace. she has an afro. parts of the drawing are softly shaded with white, including some of her hair and her face. the moon is visible outside the window along with two stars. there's a noise filter on the drawing. /end ID]
blackbird singing in the dead of night...
How does concept unification go in this au? You mentioned it in your last Animal Crackers post, and I'm just curious. Is it good/bad/neutral? What happens to the RAE (Rolfe, Billy Bob, etc)
I love this AU with all my heart! :3
concept unification went…awful.
for starters, it only happened because RAE would have to disband without a manager or a place to play at. so chuck, being a charitable guy in LA at the time of their last shows before hiatus, swooped in and offered for them to play at his place in NYC.
so during the summer of 1984, every band member packs up and leaves for New York.
they find quickly though that it’s not what it seems.
they hold a dinner party to discuss business before they leave, and during a smoke break Queenie has a conversation with one of the Warblettes- Irmagard. she warns her of all of Chuck’s manipulative ways, the contracts they can’t get out of, etc.
(not to mention, every member of chuck’s band is either anxious out of their mind, on something or hungover.)
queenie and fatz, on high alert after what Irma told them and also because of what happened with Wolfpack, comb through these contracts. they inform Chuck that they will not be singing them. they say all kinds of shit- like theyre not allowed to date costars, not allowed to talk about the company, and not allowed to quit.
since they didn’t sign his contracts, chuck retaliates. he gives them less and less stage time (since he writes all of the scripts), and is generally a horrible boss. he ignores their complaints and suggestions, and treats everyone like shit- especially mitzi. this leads her to quit the band out of stress towards the end of summer and move back to LA with queenie for her senior year.
after mitzi quits, the band essentially falls apart. fatz quits in retaliation, and slowly one by one everyone else does. they tried to salvage what they had back in LA, but their numbers were dwindling. they announced their final show, an homage to their most popular performances, before everyone went their separate ways.
the last to quit the band for good was earl- his final show, the rolfe and earl show, was just him and his puppet on stage. he goes to tell mitzi a joke on center stage, only to realize no one is left to banter with.
eventually, the band reforms into a sort of more successful version of the “new rock a fire explosion” when mitzi is in college and chuck goes bankrupt, but i really don’t have anything on that yet.
Do you have any videos of The Mopsey Sisters performing?
Hi there! I have no idea where to find this footage, but @pizza-and-burgertime has an amazing GIF of them in action!
Pardon the confederate flag, of course... we don't endorse such things around these parts.
Functionally, they were identical to the balcony Warblettes, just with latex masks instead of fabric. If I had to guess, I'd say that's ultimately why they were phased out. Time is not kind to latex masks, so having to replace them whenever they ripped, became brittle, or melted would've been a pain in the rear. Another reason they might've been discontinued is because they're just so uncanny looking in comparison to the Warblettes. The Warblettes are more friendly and inviting, in my opinion-- especially the more common crow variant.
The interesting difference between these two functionally identical sets of characters is that the Warblettes had googly eyes glued to their eyes for some motion, whereas the Mopsey Sisters appear to have had flat sequins sewn onto their eyes for the motion of their pupils, giving them a Cookie Monster effect when they rocked back and forth.
The funny thing about the Mopsey Sisters is they weren't ragdolls-- as seen in this promotional picture, they were literal mops with heads and arms!
So that's a little uncanny and bizarre! I honestly think I would've been scared of these characters if I had come across them as a child.

pizza time theatre characters!
More cec sketches. Animatrocic characters look really fun when drawn with that multicolored pencil
