Heavy rocket attacks on the city centre. Again. The day of shattering glass.

Heavy rocket attacks on the city centre. Again. The day of shattering glass.
Home, my bitter home.
Odesa. 14/08/23
Today I read on Twitter that a Kyiv woman knocked down a Russian drone throwing at it a jar of pickles. That's it.
Since last year, I feel as if I have become a mosaic, shattered in pieces. By the end of the year, with great struggle, I have started and continue to put myself back together in small fragments. Some of the fragments I will never find again.
They disappeared forever along with murdered Ukrainian soldiers, volunteers, tortured civilians, slaughtered animals and birds, dead trees, fields trampled by the russian boot, mined seas, unborn children and all those who were forced to leave Ukraine and have not been able to return home so far.
One year ago russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Endless 24 February.
Now a year later, I can hardly imagine how we managed to survive the whole year and continue to stay strong.
Especially the worst first months of the war, when there was absolutely no clarity at all, the abundance of fakes generated with monstrous speed by russian propaganda, the fear, anger and inability to realise that all this horror was really happening.
Our struggle and resistance continues. Until the victory of Ukraine. There is no other way. But I understand that even after our victory, February 2022, will remain with us forever.
I took this photo in the spring of '22 from my balcony - another russian missile fell nearby - a common sight at the time.
Eternal memory to the fallen defenders, heartfelt gratitude to all those who help and support us, glory and victory to Ukraine!
I took this picture on 24 August 2021, on the Independence Day of Ukraine🇺🇦.
As 2021 was a very stressful year for my whole family (my father was bravely fighting the terminal cancer stage), I had little energy and no desire to take photo walks.
But on the 24th of August I made a home-made two-color (blue and yellow) scotch filter and went on a photo walk to the Sea, as my personal Power Place.
Looking at the world through the colors of the flag, that'd become so dear over the past years, strength came out of nowhere. Watching children frolicking in the fountains Faith and Hope were born.
Today I'm returning to this photo to experience feelings of Faith, Hope, Love and Strength again.
I want Peace, I want this vile war on my Land to be finished, I want to see the children of Ukraine frolicking in the fountains again, not frightened hiding in bomb shelters.
Despite anger and anger, my heart is overflowing with Love and Gratitude. I've received and keep getting so many words of support, offers of help with immigration, that it tears my heart apart.
Thank you all so much for helping me live in the days of Darkness. There is a Light and it never goes out.💙💛
A glimpse from the Past. October 2020.
When it was still possible to walk around the city and practice street photography.
When you were able to walk on the hot sand of the beaches.
When it was still possible to stand at the edge of the sea, with your feet touching the fleeing waves of the sea.
The 24th of May 2022.
It's almost summer, but I'm constantly cold, unable to get warm even in the sunlight.
Until the war is over, even if it will be a hot, burning summer of Odesa, I will still be experiencing the 24th of February.
Three months of war in Ukraine.
The image depicts a Western Romani woman with a broken heart, symbolizing the pain and sadness caused by the conflict between Roma in Ukraine and Russia. It highlights the tragedy of brothers killing each other, something that the Western Romani community does not want to witness.
