More lore, yapping , & closeups under cut
My thoughts are very jumbled and I’m tired but here’s some sporadic lore bits (I’m holding quite a bit as a secret to hopefully reveal in art)
In this AU all the players (excluding Driftlight) were once house cats until a storm wiped out their homes, leaving them abandoned by their humans. One by one over time Bumbletooth found each cat and forced invited them to his band of other abandoned cats. Dawnfall is the newest addition to the “clan”. Before the storm Driftlight shared his knowledge of the now long gone clans with Bumbletooth who became intrigued with the concept. (Clan does not have a name atm) Admittedly Bumbletooth chose his own prefix having been enamored with bumble bees ever since he was a kitten. Even though he’s technically the leader Bumbletooth didn’t;t like the suffix star, choosing to keep his original suffix which Driftlight chose for him. Bumbletooth is not the best at choosing names but he named the rest of the crew besides Driftlight.
If you ask Driftlight he truthfully cannot remember where he came from and is not sure if he’s always been named Driftlight or if he had a house cat name. Although he does remember a cat he used to travel with long ago. A cat long gone to only be a shadow in his memory. Many of the clan members dismiss Driftlight often as he doesn’t appear to be ‘all there’ most times. The clan cats can technically leave whenever they’d like but they know that it isn’t safe for them to leave on their own as most of them cannot hunt alone nor defend themselves. Despite Bubble being the deputy Bumbletooth himself often appoints training and patrols, switching them up and often times giving the clan members unusual or seemingly useless tasks. Speaking of Bubble he’s another strange cat the others don’t speak to often. A short fluffy cat with large eyes and a sharp grin. Dawnfall swears he can see inside her soul with those eyes. Bumbletooth shares the sentiment with the others of Bubble being unusual but is much more willing to spend time with him than the others, often only confiding in the strange little cat.
A lot more has been thought about but I’ll leave it there for now! I’m not 100% on the names yet. Hopefully fullbody designs coming soon. Sorry guys this is sort of cringe but uh I love cats and drawing characters as them so :’)
I had trouble coming up with names, so for placeholders; Razzle and Dazzle are Shinebeam and Shimmertear, Squirm is Caterpillarshiver, Astro is Moonglow, and Brightney is Brighthope!
If anyone wants to suggest names in the comments I'd be happy to see them! Also there IS lore for the Warrior Cats pieces as well, I can maybe explain that too if anyone is curious! -Coin
