⚔️ On Trauma and Healing ⚔️ Your trauma is valid. Your rage is valid. Your healing matters. None of our healing journeys may look the same, but they are important nonetheless. We support ALL SURVIVORS as we work to protect families against violence, and hold healing spaces for our kapwa. It's funny that men think we are an "FMA" group when those spaces are some of the most violent spaces any of us have ever been in. These men (and some patriarchal women) not only disapprove and mock us for what we choose to show of our training, they attack and belittle our work, then give unsolicited, paternalistic advice on how they should teach instead. 💩🤢🤮⚔️ Our space is a sacred circle of healing, a place for warrior sisters, trans and non-binary folx to actually feel safe and supported, while learning important lessons about the truth of our history, how to educate on consent and respect, and enforcing our boundaries. Kali is an ancient sacred art and tradition of our ancestors, so we protect it as such. 🗡️ Our training is unlike any other, so please don't ask us for "recommendations," cuz we don't trust any others to do what we do, especially when men in those spaces have abused our sisters and many others, while their circles enable them. Ask instead how to support us. Ask about the situation in the #Philippines. Ask how you can donate or collab, or make warrior art. Our space was created for black, indigenous, pinay, queer and trans folx of color as a RESPONSE to violence, and as grassroots education for what needs to exist in the world. This is liberation pedagogy and praxis. This is the work of our ancestors. Love, solidarity, and appreciation to all those who have been apart of our circles, who have stood with us, and who support from afar. We love you and hold you on your healing journey. ⚔️💜✨ #SurvivalArts #WarriorWomxn #ProtectTheFamily #DecolonizingKali #ProtectTheSacred #SurvivalArtsAcademy (at Survival Arts Academy) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCY54G2A5Zp/?igshid=159ks7nn2sb10
